By accepting these terms, a binding agreement shall arise between you and Bookkeeping Institute of Australia Pty. Ltd. (ACN 098 593 554) (“BIA”) which shall be
governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
By accepting these terms you agree to pay the course fee (including GST if applicable) (“Course Fee”) for the course you have selected under this Student
Agreement (“Course”). Upon receipt of the Course Fee, BIA agrees to:
1. supply to you all materials listed by BIA for your Course (“Course Materials”);
2. grade your assignments;
3. answer queries about your Course; and
4. meet the cost of all return postage to you.
The Course Fee does not cover postage to BIA, nor any materials that are not listed as Course Materials for your Course. BIA notes that, depending on your
particular Course, you may need to provide your own equipment in addition to the Course Materials at your cost. Subject to successful completion of all assignments
and the Course Fee being paid in full, BIA will issue you with appropriate certification for your Course.
Course updates, grading and feedback will be sent to you as you progress through the Course and submit your assignments. BIA reserves the right to withhold
provision of Course Materials in the event that you fail to pay any part of the Course fee as and when it becomes payable. If you are paying by installments, you must
pay all such installments on or before the due date.
Irrespective of your progress through the Course, if you fail to pay any installment by the due date, the total outstanding balance of the Course Fee will become
immediately due and payable and you may also be required to pay additional administrative costs.
The USB Flash Drive that is provided for use in completing your assessments remains the property of BIA and if not returned at the end of the Course will result in
BIA not being able to assess your work for competency and certification. Further, you agree to pay BIA a fee of $50 for the replacement of the drive.
The Course Materials (except the USB Flash Drive) which BIA provides to you shall become your property. However, the content of the Course Materials, including
copyright and all other such intellectual property rights contained therein, remain the property of BIA or a nominated third party. You may not reproduce any part of
the Course Materials without the prior written consent of BIA.
The duration of your Course is 12 months. In the event that you do not complete the Course in the given timeframe, your Course will be immediately cancelled
without refund. If you wish to continue with your Course after the expiry date, an additional fee of $250 will be charged and a maximum extension of six (6) months
will be granted. Extensions are subject to availability and BIA retains the right to refuse the extension in its absolute discretion.
If you decide that you do not wish to proceed with your Course after receiving all of your material we will charge you a 20% restocking fee and handling charge in
addition to a 10% cancellation fee. That means that we will refund you 70% of your Course fee provided that ALL the manuals, software and exercise disks are
returned to BIA in a pristine condition – and show no signs of copying – within 14 calendar days of the products shipping from our office. If the Course Materials are
not received within this period or are received in an un-merchantable condition you will be charged a further 20% cancellation fee.
If you fail to notify BIA of your Cancellation Request within 14 calendar days of the Agreement Date, you will be liable to pay the Course Fee to BIA in full.
If during the term of your Course you wish to transfer Courses, you may do so subject to the following conditions:
1. your installment payments are paid up to date and there are no overdue monies owing to BIA;
2. you agree to pay an additional fee of $150;
3. you agree to pay any difference between your original Course Fee and your new Course Fee;
4. any remaining credit on your behalf may be used toward further BIA courses, but will not be refunded. This credit may only be utilised prior to the
expiration of your Course;
5. your request to transfer Courses must be lodged within 6 months of the Agreement Date.

2. giving your consent to BIA to undertake a credit check on you
