In todays competitive corporate word any
financial decision has playing a significant
role to the success of any corporation and
therefore every financial decision is tested
in terms of value creation. Accordingly,
valuation has now become the key factor
in our fast changing financial world today.
If you read section 247 of the Companies
Act, 2013 you will come to know the fact
that where a valuation is required of any
assets or net wealth of a company or its
liabilities under the provision of Companies Act, it shall be valued by a person having such
qualifications and experience and registered as a valuer.
The Council of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has launched a
Certificate Course on Valuation for its members and students of Chartered Accountancy
(CA) course. The main objective of this valuation course is to build skills and improve
quality and confidence of ICAI member embers in carrying out valuation assignment
relevant to today's business.
Eligibility:
All ICAI members are eligible to enrol for certificate course on valuation. CA students who
have passed the final examination may also join this course. Additionally, anyone including

the Government officials may do this valuation course after permission granted by the
Corporate Laws and Corporate Governance Committee of CA Institute on the terms and
conditions that it may decide.
Course Fees:
You are required to pay a sum of Rs. 25,000 for joining the certificate course on valuation
for major metros viz. Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai. However, if this course is
organised in any other cities (medium metros) then the above amount will be reduced to
Rs. 20,000 only.
The above amount inclusive of fee for the course, price of the reference book and first time
evaluation fee payable at the time of registration only. Note that registration fee once paid
is non-refundable under any circumstances.
The Fees to be paid on the spot in the name of The Secretary, The Institute of Chartered
Accountants of India payable by cheque payable at par or by demand draft on the starting
of the course at the venue itself.
Course Duration:
The duration of the course will be 300 Hours comprising of-
i) 200 hours for self-study;
ii) 50 hours for class room teaching; and
iii) 50 hours for case study in groups and project preparation.
Class Duration:
Class will generally be held from 10.00 A.M. to 05.00 P.M. on weekends i.e. Saturday s and
Sundays.
Classes Flexibility:
CA Institute has given the facility to every participants that they may attend the classes at

any other centre if the corresponding classes are going at that centre.
Examination Fee:
The fee for certificate course on valuation will be NIL for the first time evaluation and
thereafter Rs. 1,000 shall be charged each time if a candidate is required to re-appear for
subsequent Evaluation Test.
Registration Process:
You are required to download and fill-up the registration form and submit the completed
form by mail for the purpose of registration without any fee. This is because the Fees will
be paid on the spot on the commencement of the course at the venue itself.

launching new batch for the Certificate Course on Valuation for Chandigarh from 12th July,
2014.
The Course Fees is Rs. 20,000 can be paid on the spot or you may register yourself at
Chandigarh branch in advance by DD payable at par all over India The Secretary, The
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
You may submit your registration form with photo, DD, and membership proof at the
venue itself on the first day of the commencement of the course or you may register
yourself at Chandigarh branch in advance.
