Juan Edghill, Sasod and the UN: Anti-gay comments not hateful Edghill

Dear Editor,

I refer to the story Anti-Gay Comments not Hateful Edghill (SN 7 17 14) and would
appreciate the opportunity to comment.

Dr. Paul McHugh, Distinguished Service Professor in Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University,
was forced in 2005 (Surgical Sex; http://www.firstthings.com/article/2004/11/surgical-sex ) to
commit to the following indictment of sasod and the UN on the LGBT issue (especially given
their avoidance of efforts to promote treatment, healing and recovery for the victims of same-
sex-attraction-disorders and gender-identity disorders):

We have wasted scientific and technical resources and damaged our professional credibility
by collaborating with madness rather than trying to study, cure, and ultimately prevent it

Pope Benedict, in an astonishing moment of clarity, has also previously outlined some of the
issues that pose the most insidious and dangerous threats to mankind in the article "Pope:
Abortion, gay marriage among world's greatest threats"

Catholics, and Christians generally, would be thereby advised.

The points raised by sasod are therefore better chanted than analyzed! "Gay" advocacy
depends for its success on the premise that its victims and audience do not read!
The Minister must now ask some hard questions of both sasod and the UN.
The Minister must ask sasod and the UN to inform him in writing, and in detail, of their
disagreement with Kathleen Melonakos Why Isnt Homosexuality Considered a Disorder
on the Basis of Its Medical Consequences? (http://www.wf-f.org/Melonakos.html ).
The UN will not respond! Nor will sasod!
The UN must secondly outline its position on the law reviews "Crafting Bi/Homosexual Youth"
( http://www.drjudithreisman.com/archives/regent.pdf ), and Child Molestation and The
Homosexual Movement"
(http://www.mega.nu:8080/ampp/baldwin_pedophilia_homosexuality.pdf ), both of which indict
sasod in the absence of their written defence!

Neither the UN nor sasod will respond!

On this matter, the Minister seems to understand that fact, truth, detail and evidence supports
him ... and THAT is why sasod will not address the issues, only use its platform in media houses
to try to discredit him and his faith!
As to the issue of human rights, the Minister in his capacity as Christian should be
understandably alarmed that Melanie Phillips has pointed out, "... The sacred doctrine of human
rights which explicitly sets itself up as the religion for a godless age is the means by which
secularism is steadily attacking the Christian roots of our civilization, on the basis that religion is
inherently unenlightened, prejudiced and divisive...." (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-
404052/How-Britain-turning-Christianity-crime.html ). It is eerie but significant that the
vehicle used for the propagation of this argument in England is homosexuality!

The UN, like sasod, will sidestep her concerns with the slothful gibberish that regularly
emanates from those organizations.

Sound public policy obviously lies in advocating for medical/psychiatric/spiritual treatment,
healing, recovery ... and the intense and deliberate eradication of the "LGBT-pathologies"
considered by its victims as "essential to their well-being" ... not in silencing government
ministers, Christians, the Opposition, or otherwise ignoring fact, truth, detail and evidence!
A useful question for the Minister to finally ask the UN and sasod is this: Does "gay" advocacy
and "gay rights" mean the end of reason, the end of the law, the end of science, the end of
evidence? Dr. Charles Socarides addressed these questions in the Journal of Psycho-history at
"Sexual Politics and Scientific Logic: The Issue of Homosexuality"

The UN will not respond to Dr. Socarides concerns about the deception foisted upon a gullible
world by the APA!

Nor will sasod whose peculiar deception is described by Dr. Joseph Nicolosi the following
way:

Militant gay advocates working in a small but forceful network have caused apathy and confusion
within our society. They insist that acceptance of the homosexual as a person cannot occur without
endorsement of the homosexual condition. Intellectual circles toowho are self-conscious about
sounding intolerantproclaim homosexuality as normal, yet it is still not so for the average person for
whom it just doesnt seem right.
We come, again, to one inescapable conclusion

On this matter, the Minister seems to understand that fact, truth, detail and evidence supports
him ... and THAT is why sasod will not address the issues, only use its platform in media houses
to try to discredit him and his faith!
