Benefits & Expectations of a Full-Time Master Student
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. The student will be selected to the position of Full-Time Master Student at the University. 2. The student shall discharge his academic responsibilities and affiliated duties in this position with due trust and to the best of his knowledge. 3. Upon acceptance of this offer from the student, the Full-Time Master Student offer (Student Visa) cannot be converted to Research Assistant offer (Work Visa) under any circumstances. 4. This offer is pending the final approval of the scholarship and the student visa from the higher authority and passing medical tests in the Kingdom. The scholarship and visa approval process may take 4-8 months from the time of accepting this offer. 5. Once this approval is granted, the student will be provided a student visa number to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 6. The student shall contact the Saudi Embassy / Consulate / Mission in his country to learn about the formalities for obtaining the entry visa to Saudi Arabia in due time. 7. This agreement shall start from the date from which the student reports to the University at the beginning of academic semester and end upon completion of studies.
BENEFITS
The student shall be provided with the following benefits throughout his academic program: 1. A preparation allowance of Saudi Riyals One Thousand Eight Hundred only, (SR 1800) upon arrival to the University. 2. A monthly stipend of Saudi Riyals Eight Hundred and Ninety only, (SR 890) at the end of every of Hijri* month. 3. Air tickets according to the following: a. One time upon departure from his country of origin to Saudi Arabia at the beginning of the contract and one time at the end of contract duration; unless the student was residing in Saudi Arabia at the time of recruitment. b. A round-trip ticket from Saudi Arabia to his country of origin and return to Saudi Arabia once every year during the program period, for annual vacation. c. The air tickets shall be provided on economy excursion class. 4. Free on-campus accommodation in the Universitys bachelor housing as per the policy of the Deanship of Student Affairs.

5. Free textbooks for registered courses from University bookstore. 6. Subsidized meals in the University Student Cafeteria. 7. Free basic medical care in the University Clinic. 8. Upon graduation, the following allowances will be provided a. Saudi Riyals Three Thousand only, (SR 3000) for thesis binding. b. Saudi Riyals Two Thousand Seven Hundred only, (SR 2700) for shipping books.
Important Note: In case the student was forced to arrive after the last day of late registration, he will not be eligible for the stipend for that academic term (Check Registrars Calendar on their website). On-campus accommodation may be provided if delay reasons were out of control of the student to be judged by the Dean of Graduate Studies.
EXPECTATIONS
1. The student shall successfully pass 9 credit hours every semester, and shall complete the required coursework within three semesters at maximum. 2. The student shall complete his Master Program within 5 academic semesters. If this period expires before completing the intended program, an extension of a maximum of 2 more semesters may be provided upon approval of the Dean of Graduate Studies, in very special cases. 3. The University may ask the student to take pre-requisite course(s) in order to make up for any academic deficiency for his intended program of study. 4. The student should maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00. Failure to do so will result in severe warning and/or termination of this agreement, in case of dismissal from the intended program of study. 5. It is understood that for the duration of the program of study, the student will fully devote his time for completing his Master program and will be prohibited from any full-time or part-time employment within the Kingdom. 6. Reference shall be made to the University Regulations and its supplementary terms and conditions, for all what is not provided for hereunder.
* Hijri calendar is a lunar calendar consisting of 12 lunar months in a year of 354 or 355 days. A Hijri year is between 10 and 12 days shorter than a Gregorian year.
