PRESENTACIN
URBANO ASTUYAURI, es un pintor cuya obra est desde hace mucho
tiempo empeada con pasin y placer en la recuperacin del pasado
preinca y ahora del arte popular del pas mediante la presencia en sus
cuadros de elementos folklricos de la cultura peruana con un rigor
recreativo que no desmiente jams su origen.
Sus obras se presentan bajo un doble denominador: la riqueza textual
de sus materias y la libertad de formulaciones. Conserva como pintor la
visin del nio a la cual une la inclinacin del artista actual que busca el
logro de un lenguaje plstico que valga por si solo. De ah, que la
figuracin no sea un intento de retratar los objetos y los seres en el lienzo
como un procedimiento, el cuadro se define por la relacin que se
establece internamente, en lo profundo del smbolo, entre formas y
colores y entre la correspondencia de efectos y motivaciones. Lo cual es
el meollo terico de su pintura tanto constructiva como lricamente
La pintura de Astuyauri contiene numerosos elementos que rompen los
esquemas habituales de la concepcin tradicional de la imagen, mas
bien l est constantemente enfrentando en forma dialctica valores
compositivos conceptuales, armazones geomtricas y fuentes lumnicas
artificiales en el que conjugan personas y animales en el ms absoluto
espritu representativo con fondos abstractos. Con tcnica impecable
Astuyauri implanta dentro de esos espacios controlados, objetos
perfectamente identificables como juguetes: camioncitos, barquitos,
burritos, nios campesinos jugando, manteniendo en todo momento la
identidad de las partes sin romper la homogeneidad de la obra.
La materia opaca y austera est acorde con el tema y el contenido
mediante la funcin referencial, representando esos objetos inertes
Astuyauri logra una particularidad eficacia comunicativa que a l le interesa
pues no quiere permanecer indiferente ante la desaparicin de leyendas
y mitos, de esos objetos hermosos del arte popular que perenniza en sus
telas.
Su pintura no es, sin embargo, crnica realista o figuracin narrativa ya
que las diversas articulaciones sintcticas la sitan en otra dimensin
mas compleja en la cual tambin hay un discurso sobre la pintura, sus
artificios y su carcter ldico.

En Astuyauri hay un elemento ms: el de su manera popular de recoger
esas virtualidades que emplea como asidero de su gusto cromtico por
la riqueza de las texturas aterciopeladas de rojos, amarillos y dorados. El
se inspira en la sencillez del artesano que trabaja sus juguetes en madera
blanca de eucalipto con tintes de colores manteniendo el candor
campesino, no como desvalor sino como fuerza que conduce de
acuerdo a su inters visual.
Curioso fruto es la pintura de Astuyauri donde se juntan la vieja sabidura
del campesino con sus mitos y leyendas que l asimila en sus pinturas
porque l naci y vivi desde nio en el pueblo mtico de Parac, pueblo
perteneciente a Huarochir, donde Urbano fue curado por el brujo de la
localidad contra la mala suerte mediante una ceremonia de cnticos,
alcohol y coca
.

PRESENTATION
URBANO ASTUYAURI, is a Peruvian painter whose creatrions become
from a large term, pleged of pasion and pleasure to the recuperation of
pre-inca Era and the popular art of the country by means of the pictures
presence of folflore elements from Per's culture by a recreative striness,
which no disemble its origin nevermore.
His Works present themselves with a double denominator: the texture
richess of materias and the freedom in formulations.
As a Young painter, he preserves a child visin, so he joins the actual artist
who gets the gain of a plastic lenguaje, itself valuable, thence, that
figuration shouln't be an intendment of draw portraits of objects and
essences on the linen clothes a proccedure, the picture define itself by
means the relation, internally established, in the profund of symbol
among colours and shapes and the correspondence of motivations and
effects. That's the theoric kerne of his painting so constructive as lirically.
In Astuyauri there is an adding element of his popular manner of gather
those virtualities, that he makes use as a pretex of his chromatic taste by
means of the velvety texture in red, yellow and Golden wealth.
He inspires himself in the simplicity of artesans who makes their wooden
toys in White colour of eucalyptus tree with colour spots maintaining the
country's candor, not like a shelf, besides a conductor force in according
to his visual interest.
A curions fruit is the Astuyauri's painting in wich the ancient sapience of
rural men, combine with the legend and mith, which he has assimilated
in his creations, because he has born and lived in the mitic town of Parac,
Huarochir, a land where Urbano once were cured by a folkloric
brujo a kind of empiric physician who Works against some illenss.
The Astuyauri's painting contents several elements, which break the
habitual schemes in the traditional concepts of image.
Of coure, he is constantly confronting in a dialectic, conceptual mode
and compositive values, geometric skeltons and artificial and luminous
fountains, in which persons and animals conjugate each others in the
most absolute and representative spirit with abstract funds. Owner of an
impeccable tecnic, Astuyauri implants within those controlled objects
perfectly identificable: as toys, little truks, little ships, little donkeys, rural
children playing, maintaining forever the identy of elements without out
break the homogenity in the manufacture.
The severe and opaque materia is according with the theme and the
contents by virtue of the referencial function, performing those dull
objects, Astuyauri gets a particular communicative efficacy, important to
him, because he doesn't want to be indiferent in front of the
desapperance of legends and miths, beautiful objects of popular art,
which are perpetual in his creations.
His painting arent't, however, a realist chronicle or a narrative, because
the diverse sintactic articulations locate them in another dimension,
more complex in which there is also a reasoning about the painting, its
artfices and its ludic carcter.
