Integrity, a Way of Life

Integrity is known as doing the right thing when no one is
looking. As one of our core values, this is something all of us
must live by and practice both in and outside of Civil Air
Patrol. In Civil Air Patrol, integrity allows us to build trust with
each other. Integrity ensures that both safety and
professionalism will result from whatever we accomplish. Out
of civil air patrol, integrity can help us make the right choice,
and represent the professionalism that we must always
demonstrate whether we're in a uniform or not. As cadets, we
must live with integrity.

Customs and Courtesies
Customs and courtesies are important in CAP as well as the regular
world. All military customs and courtesies are rooted in basic
politeness and respect. Simple customs and courtesies, like saluting
and calling a LT or above a Ma'am or Sir, is an example. Another
example is saying hello to a higher ranking person. Respect is the
main purpose for customs and courtesies. Cadets strengthen their
self-discipline and maintain a positive attitude by habitually and
cheerfully rendering customs and courtesies. Learn to Lead

Tips for the Encampment: How to
Succeed
Tip #4: Remember your Customs and
Courtesies
Being polite and nice may be optional
for normal people in the outside world.
However, here in Civil Air Patrol, you
must be practicing your customs and
courtesies. Saluting your officers,
greeting seniors, and treating other
cadets with the respect that you would
like to be treated.
