Instagram is not only great for taking cool pictures, it's also a great place to
discover exciting new photographers who are pushing the boundaries of new
media. If you're wondering how to save your own high-resolution photos, and
capture the great work of other photographers, this article will show you how to
accomplish that.

Open Instagram settings. Tap the Profile icon in the bottom right corner of your
iPhone.
Tap the gear icon It's located at the upper right of the screen.
Scroll down to the bottom of the Options page. Enable Original Photos. This will
save your original images to your Camera Roll. High resolution versions of the filtered
photo are also saved to the Camera Roll.

Note: both original and filtered photos are automatically saved to your phone. The
originals are saved in the Camera photo album, and the filtered versions are
saved in the Instagram photo album.

Visit Instaport. This is a service, recommended by Instagram, for downloading all
your photos into one file. Go to http://instaport.me, and log in with your Instagram
account.
Choose your export method. You can simply save to a .zip file, or to Facebook or
Flickr. If you click on the Advanced Options button, you can also choose to limit the
photos on date, number of photos, or even photos of other users you have liked (but will be
limited to a maximum of 612 x 612 resolution).

Click Start Export. It will take a few minutes, depending on the size of the download.
Finish the download. When the export is ready to process, you will be given the
option to simply complete the download, or download and give Instaport a donation.

Navigate to Instagram's home page. Instagram does not let you save other's
photos directly, but you can view a larger-resolution image using Instagram on your
computer's browser. All you need is the username for the images you want to capture. Enter
http://instagram.com/[username].
Click on an image. It will expand to 612 x 612, which you can then screen capture.
Save the screen capture. You can drag it into your photo album, or a folder on your
desktop, whatever is most appropriate.

saving all public photos by a given username.
Enter a username and click search.

Go to the photo on the Instagram websites from your computer.
Right click > Inspect Element. A pop up with all the magical code behind the page
appears. The image is going to have "boilerplate" in it's URL. This URL is a direct link
to where the image is hosted. It's a long string, and it ends in "jpg".Click it.
Save it. Done.

Pull up the Instagram picture you'd like to get the URL from.
Right click the picture. Select "Inspect element".
It should open up a toolbar at the bottom of your screen. Additionally, some
HTML code should be highlighted.
Right below it, you should see a URL starting with "http://distilleryimage".
Double click the link.
Now the same picture you originally selected should show up in the bottom
toolbar. Right click it and select "Copy image URL".
