Hunter Valley Wine Theatre

Embark on a wine-making journey, from picking
to pouring, in our unique wine theatre. Complete
the experience by tasting some of the best wines
the Hunter has to offer.

The experience starts with an inspection of the
HUNTER VALLEY RESORTs 40 year old Shiraz.

Then it is back to the
Hunter Wine Theatre.
This brand new
experience takes just
over half an hour in
our dedicated
theatre, running
several times every
day.

Up on the big screen learn a little of the
Hunters wine heritage, Australias oldest wine
area. See the grapes being harvested, and being
crushed at the on site winery and take a lesson in
winemaking.

The Cellar Master then takes visitors through a
wine tasting, covering aspects such as structure,
colour, and what to look for. A true sensory
overload.



HANDS ON Cooking Class

Join our Executive Chef Phil Collis. (Min 8 people)

This is a hands-on class and all dishes are cooked
from scratch using local produce. Recipes are
provided and the dishes you prepare, you will
enjoy as a three course lunch or dinner.

To start, you will be met by our Cellar Master for
our Wine Theatre experience including wine
tastings. Then, the cooking school begins. Our
Executive Chef will guide you step-by-step
through a three
course menu.

You will then
get to sit down
and enjoy the
fruits of your
labour.


Class finishes with the presentation of your
certificate of Culinary Excellence

Hunter Valley Wine School

Immerse yourself in the wonderful world of
wine during a two hour Master Class. From
pruning to picking and bottling. Learn how
to taste wines like a seasoned sommelier.

The Hunter Valley
Wine School
commences daily
at 9.00am and is
an informal
tutorial of wine
education. Walk
through the onsite
vineyard of 45 year old Shiraz vines and
discuss matters viticultural.

Then its into the
theatre to see how
the winery operates.
The air bag presses,
huge tanks, the
Potter Fermenters,
filtration equipment,
and the largest
Rotovats in the Hunter. From there, the
experience then moves into the Wine Tasting
stage. The informal wine tutorial and tasting
follows: What is the history wine? What is the
difference between grape varieties? What is
the Australian Wine Judging System?

All these questions, and more, will be
answered leaving one with a newfound
knowledge of winemaking.. And tasting!!













































































Accommodation Facilities:

Where are we located? We are an easy 2 hour
drive north of Sydney. Just follow the M1
north, take the new Hunter Expressway exit
and then the Hermitage Road exit.
HUNTER VALLEY RESORT is nestled among its
own 40 year old vineyards incorporating an all
day Bluetongue Brewery, quality 4 star
accommodation, wine tasting cellars, horse
riding, wine school, wine theatre, cooking
schools and an onsite winery.

Included in all our rates is a comprehensive
tour of the vineyard. The tour takes guests
through the entire wine making process, from
grapevine to the final product! This is
followed by a private structured wine tasting
with our Cellarmaster where the wines are
presented and tasted.

All rooms feature timber cathedral ceilings,
full size bathtub & shower, Flatscreen
TV/DVD, ISD/IDD Telephone, Hairdryer,
Individual whisper-quiet reverse cycle split air-
conditioner, Tea and Coffee making facilities,
Minibar and refrigerator, Iron and Ironing
board, Writing desk and Clock Radio. They are
on one level, and all have wonderful views of
the Australian countryside.

The hotel features 35 rooms and cottages.

or two single beds.
