KIT DE INTERFAZ SERIAL
La informacin que se muestra en este manual sirve nicamente como
referencia sobre el producto. Debido a actualizaciones pueden existir diferencias.

IMPORTANTE
No exponga el producto a la luz directa del sol o a temperaturas extremas.
No use ni almacene este kit en lugares donde pueda caerle agua. Puede causar un mal funcionamiento.
La Interfaz Serial Inteligente K-402 contiene partes pequeas. No la deje al alcance de los nios.
Se recomienda la supervisin de un adulto para ensamblarlo, ya que se requiere soldadura y cautn.
Siempre utilice un pao suave y seco para limpiar la Interfaz Serial Inteligente K-402.
1. CARACTERSTICAS
El kit para armar una interfaz inteligente de puerto serial es el complemento ideal y la herramienta necesaria para
el estudio completo del libro, kits y proyectos de Mecatrnica.
Permite ejecutar los programas correspondientes al K-405, K-410, K-415, K-420 y para el proyecto del brazo
mecnico K-680 que vienen presentados grcamente en el libro. Soporta la aplicacin ISI4, por lo que se puede
utilizar con otros proyectos independientes.
Tiene un puerto de entrada y dos de salida, protocolo RS232 (DB9, serial) y LEDs indicadores para encendido y
transmisin de datos. Compatible con Windows 2000, XP, Vista y 7.

1 Instructivo de ensamble
Para instalar los circuitos integrados siga las reglas de proteccin
antiesttica y ponga atencin en la numeracin de sus pines, ubicando
especialmente el nmero 1.

4. ENSAMBLE
Para armar el K-402 se necesita saber soldar circuitos electrnicos. Para evitar daos en el circuito impreso use
un cautn de 30 watts. No se recomienda un cautn de mayor energa.
Antes de comenzar con el armado del kit, es necesario que cuente con un cautn tipo lpiz y soldadura. Se
recomienda la supervisin de un adulto durante el ensamble.
1. El rollo de cable sirve para soldar los puentes necesarios en la tarjeta. Crtelos a la longitud necesaria pele los
extremos y colquelos en las posiciones N1, N2, N3 y en los puntos 1-4. Proceda a soldar.

4. ENSAMBLE
2. Coloque las resistencias R1, R2, R3, R4 y el diodo D1. Suelde y corte los sobrantes.
3. Coloque el microswitch S1 en la posicin correcta. Proceda a soldar.
4. Coloque la base de 40 pines poniendo atencin en el pin 1. Coloque el circuito integrado U2 MAX232 en su
respectiva posicin y verique la del pin 1. Proceda a soldar.
5. Coloque los dos capacitores de cermica C1 y C2. Coloque los LEDs de color D2 y D3. Suelde y corte los
sobrantes.
6. Coloque la terminal de tornillos. Proceda a soldar.
7. Coloque los 2 conectores DB9 (O) y el conector DB9 (P) en ngulo en sus respectivas posiciones. Solde.
8. Coloque los capacitores electrolticos respetando la polaridad de las patas. El circuito impreso indica la posi-
cin positiva. Proceda a soldar y a cortar los excedentes.
9. Por ltimo, coloque el cristal X1 en su posicin. Proceda a soldar.
10. El PIC 16F877A est pregrabado con el programa de comunicacin. El archivo HEX lo encontrar en el la
carpeta PIC del CD. Puede modicarlo y grabarlo con el programador modelo PIC-600.
11. Instale el PIC16F877A sobre la base de 40 pines. Asegrese de su instalacin haciendo coincidir la pata 1
con la base.
12. Conecte la fuente de voltaje de 5 Volts. Compruebe que enciende el LED y que no hay calentamiento en los
componentes.
13. Instale el programa de control de la PC usando el programa setup que se encuentra en la siguiente
direccin del disco compacto incluido: Aplicaciones > VB6 > setup.

5. FUNCIONAMIENTO
1. Nunca conecte la interfaz a la computadora si sta tiene conectado el voltaje de alimentacin.
2. Asegrese de que la Interfaz Serial Inteligente K-402 est apagada.
3. Una vez conectada la Interfaz, asegrese de que est apoyada en una supercie no conductiva y libre de
cualquier elemento que pueda causar cortocircuito en la placa (PCB).
4. Asegrese de que los cables de alimentacin estn bien conectados y que la fuente de alimentacin tenga el
voltaje correcto: de 5 volts regulados.
5. En la carpeta Instructivo del disco incluido encontrar una gua para usar el programador con el PIC16F877A.
Ensamble nal
Cuando conecte el programador a la computadora, revise el puerto de comunicaciones asignado para poder
establecer la comunicacin.
El diseo del producto y las especicaciones pueden cambiar sin previo aviso.

2.- Electrnica Steren S.A de C.V. se compromete a reparar el producto en caso de estar defectuoso sin ningn cargo al consumidor. Los
gastos de transportacin sern cubiertos por el proveedor.
3.- El tiempo de reparacin en ningn caso ser mayor a 30 das, contados a partir de la recepcin del producto en cualquiera de los sitios
donde pueda hacerse efectiva la garanta.
4.- El lugar donde puede adquirir partes, componentes, consumibles y accesorios, as como hacer vlida esta garanta es en cualquiera de las
direcciones mencionadas posteriormente.
ESTA PLIZA NO SE HAR EFECTIVA EN LOS SIGUIENTES CASOS:
1.- Cuando el producto ha sido utilizado en condiciones distintas a las normales.
2.- Cuando el producto no ha sido operado de acuerdo con el instructivo de uso.
3.- Cuando el producto ha sido alterado o reparado por personal no autorizado por Electrnica Steren S.A. de C.V.
El consumidor podr solicitar que se haga efectiva la garanta ante la propia casa comercial donde adquiri el producto. Si la presente garanta
se extraviara, el consumidor puede recurrir a su proveedor para que le expida otra pliza, previa presentacin de la nota de compra o factura
respectiva.

IMPORTANT

The K-402 Serial interface contains small parts, so dont let the reach of small children.
If necessary, adult supervision is recommended when soldering.
Always use a soft, dry cloth to clean the kit.
1. HIGHLIGHTS
This kit is an ideal complement and necessary tool for the study of book, kits and Mechatronics projects. It allows
executing the programs for K-405, K-410, K-415, K-420 and the mechanical arm project K-680 that comes in the
book in a graphical environment.
It supports the ISI4 application allowing the use of the intelligent interface with other independent projects. It has
1 input port, 2 output ports and RS232 protocol (DB9, serial), indicator LEDs for power and data transmission.
This kit is Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7 compatible.

To install ICS note antistatic protection rules and pay attention in their
pin numbering, locating perfectly pin 1.

4. ASSEMBLY
To build K-402, skills are required for soldering of electronic circuits. To avoid damage to the PCB use a 30 watts
soldering iron. A higher energy soldering iron is not recommended.
Before starting to build the kit, it is needed to have a soldering iron and welding. If necessary, adult supervision it
is recommended during assembly.
1. The cable roll serves to weld the necessary bridges on the card. Cut the required lengths, Peel the ends and
place in the N1, N2, N3 positions and 1-4 points. Proceed to solder.

4. ASSEMBLY
2. Place the resistors R1, R2, R3 and R4 and diode D1. Solder and cut the leftovers.
3. Place the S1 microswitch. The position is unique. Proceed to solder.
4. Place base 40-pin whereas pin 1. Place the U2 MAX232 chip in their respective position. Check the position
of pin 1. Proceed to solder.
5. Place the two C1 and C2 ceramic capacitors. Place the D2 and D3 color LEDs. Solder and cut the leftovers.
6. Place the terminal screws. Proceed to solder.
7. Place 2 DB9 connectors (O) and DB9 connector (P) in angle in their respective positions. Solder.
8. Place the electrolytic capacitors taking care of the terminals polarities. The printed circuit board indicates
positive position. Solder and cut elements leftovers.
9. Place X1 crystal in its position. Proceed to solder.
10. PIC 16F877A is pre-recorded with communication program. You will nd the HEX le on the provided CD,
inside the PIC folder. You can modify it and save it with model PIC-600 programmer.
11. Install the PIC16F877A on the 40-pin base. Check your installation by matching the pin 1 with the base.
12. Connect the voltage source. Make sure the LED turns on and there is no component heating.
13. Install PC control program using the setup program located at the following address of the included CD:
Aplicaciones > VB6 > setup.

5. OPERATION
1. Never connect the interface to the computer if it is connected to the source voltage.
2. Ensure that the K-402 serial interface is turned off.
3. Once connected K-402 interface, ensure it is supported on a non conductive surface free of anything that may
cause short circuit on PCB.
4. Ensure the power voltage cables are properly connected and that the power supply has the correct voltage
regulated.
5. In the folder Instructivo on the included disk you will nd a guide to use the kit with the PIC16F877A.
Final assembly
When connect the interface to computer, check the communications port assigned to establish communication.

WARRANTY
This Steren product is warranted under normal usage against defects in workmanship and
materials to the original purchaser for one year from the date of purchase.
CONDITIONS
1.- This warranty card with all the required information, invoice, product box or package, and
product, must be presented when warranty service is required.
2.- If the product stills on the warranty time, the company will repair it free of charge.
3.- The repairing time will not exceed 30 natural days, from the day the claim was received.
4.- Steren sell parts, components, consumables and accessories to customer, as well as
warranty service, at any of the addresses mentioned later.
THIS WARRANTY IS VOID IN THE NEXT CASES:
If the product has been damaged by an accident, acts of God, mishandling, leaky batteries,
failure to follow enclosed instructions, improper repair by unauthorized personnel, improper safe
keeping, among others.
a) The consumer can also claim the warranty service in the purchase establishment.
b) If you lose the warranty card, we can reissue it, if you show the invoice or purchase ticket.
