Purpose

ThisdocumentdescribeshowtocorrectlyandsafelyperformanalignmentandadjustmentofImage
IntensifierandCollimatoronanassembledOrthoScanHD1000.Itisimportantthatyoureadthroughthis
entiredocumenttobefamiliarwiththeprocedure,equipmentandsafetyprecautionsbeforeproceeding.

Scope

OnlytrainedandauthorizedpersonnelshallperformthefollowingprocedureofImageCalibration.All
OrthoScanHD1000mustundergothisprocess.

Safety
Thecalibrationandtestinginvolvesmanysignificantdangers.However,byfollowingthesesafetyprecautions,
wearingthecorrectsafetyclothingandusingthecorrectsafetyequipment,youcansignificantlyreducethe
risktoyourself.

Themaindangersyouwillbefacedwithare:
highvoltages
exposuretolead
radiationexposure
dangersassociatedwithusingtools

Beforeproceedingwithanypartoftheprocedures,takethetimetofamiliarizeyourselfwiththesteps
involved,andmakeyourselfawareofanypotentialhazardsinvolved.

Whenworkingwithhighvoltage(anythingabove50v),alwaysensurethatyouhaveinformedthepeople
workingaroundyou,andmakesuretheyareawareofwhattodoincaseofanemergency.Thisisforyour
safetyandtheirsyoubenefitfromhavingsomeoneavailableshouldsomethinggowrong,andtheybenefit
bymakingsurethattheykeepasafedistancefromwhatyouareworkingon.

Leadisapoisonousmaterial,andoralingestioncancauselongtermmentalhealtheffects.Therefore,always
wearlatexgloveswhenworkingwithlead,andwashyourhandswhenyouarefinished.Alwayscleantools
andequipment,andthesurfaceyouwereworkingon,afteryoufinishworkingwithlead.Neverputyour
handsnearyourmouthuntilyouhavewashedyourhands.

Radiationexposuremaynotbeeminentthemomentofexposurebutcancausemanyhealtheffects.Before
continuing,pleasebeawareofyoursurroundings.Ensurethatyoumaintainasafedistancefromothersthat
maybepassingtoavoidexposure.Aradiationbadgeshouldalwaysbewornwhenperformingxray
calibrationprocedures.

Beforeusinganytoolorequipment,makesureyouareawareofhowtouseitcorrectlyandsafely.

Inadditiontothis,youshouldweararadiationexposuretrackingbadge.

Ifyouareeverindoubtabouthowtoproceed,orunsureaboutwhatsafetyprecautionstotake,aska

oftheimage.
5. TurnUnitOFFbypressinggreenmonetaryswitchonce.Note:Donotattempttoadjustsetscrewswhile
machineispoweredON.ElectricshockandHighVoltageispresent.
6. AdjusttheIntermediateCollimatorbylooseningand/ortighteningthesetscrewsandlockingscrew.Simple
