1 Before installation
1.1 What is Digital Certificate
A digital certificate (they are also called a digital signature or digital ID) is equivalent to the ID card on the Internet. By
using the digital certificate issued from Customer Service Center, you can access to the website of Nissan Motor, with
secured security.

1.2 System Requirements
1.2.1 Hardware (recommended Specifications)
CPU:500MHz or higher
RAM:128M or higher
Hard disk: Capacity of 20MB or more

1.2.2 Operating System (recommended)
Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 or above
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or above
Windows Vista Service Pack 1 or above

1.2.3 Browsers
Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 or above
Encryption strength 128(bit)
- Internet Explorer 8 is not supported.
- Other browsers including Netscape Navigator are not supported.

1.3 Before installation
1.3.1 Internet Explorer Configuration
1. Start Internet Explorer and select Tool from the menu and then select Internet Options.

2. Click Advanced tab as the screen of Internet Options appears..

3. Check both box of Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 and click Security tab.

4. Select Internet zone, click the button Default level then click OK.

1.3.2 User Level of Windows 2000/XP
It is necessary to set the user level of Windows as Power Users or Administrators .
The picture of explanation is a case of Windows XP.

1. Click Start menu, then select Control Panel.

2. As Control Panel is displayed, click User Accounts.

3. Click User Accounts.

4. Check the Level of User who access to Nissan Site.

Select the user-name of the correspondence, and choose Properties, when a present user level is not Power
Users or Administrators.

4-1. Select Others, and select Power Users or Administrators from a right pull-down menu, and select
OK.

4-2. Check the target user level being changed and select the OK. button.

1.3.3 Set up of Date and Time
Since there is the term of validity in a digital certificate, PCs date and time needs to be set right.

1. Click Start menu and select Control Panel.

2. As Control panel is displayed, click Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options

3. Click Date and Time.

4. Click Time Zone tab.

5. Select right timezone and Click Date & Timetab.

6. Set right day & time and select OK.

1.4 Caution during Installation
1.4.1 Windows User ID during Installation
To download a digital certificate, it is required to install with the same Windows user account as the user account
to access to the Nissan site.
- If you access Nissan Site with the different Windows user account, the Digital Certificate will not be
recognized.
1.4.2 Customer Service Centers Responsibility
We do not take any responsibility for any effect on other softwares or applications by installing a digital certificate.

1.5 Preparation before installing Digital Certificate
1.5.1 Internet Access to HTTPS site
Internet access to SSL site needs to be possible from a PC client terminal on which a Digital Certification is
installed.
- SSL site is the URL site which address start with https://
Examplehttps://www.verisign.co.jp/
- Please check the 1.3.1 Internet Explorer Configuration if access to the SSL site are not possible.

1.5.2 Notification mail of Digital Certificate
After the registration to the Nissan global directory system in Nissan Motor Co. is completed, we will issue one
digital certificate at the customer service center, and send you Nissan CA Digital Certificate Notification 1 and
2 as 2 separated e-mail from nml-so-csc@ntt.com.
- Please do not delete Notification mails after installation, as it contains important information and
which is required for reissueing the Digital Certificate.

2 Installation of digital certificate
- When you install a digital certificate, please invalidate the security software (Virus measures software
and personal firewall, etc.) If a digital certificate is downloaded while it is effective, it occurs an error
as it is displayed installation has been completed successfully.
- Please note one digital certificate can be installed to one computer and once. As it cannot be
copied or exported, please log in with the user account of the PC which you actually use.

2.1 Enrollment of Digital Certificate
2.1.1 Please access download URL Digital ID center described in (2) download homepage information in
Nissan CA Digital Certificate Notification 1l.
As the URL is distinguished the capital letter and the small letter, please input the user name and the
password as it is shown in mail.

2.1.2 When the dialog box Security Alert is displayed, please click the OK button.

2.1.3 The following user authentication dialog box is displayed, input User name and Password described in
(2) download homepage information in Nissan CA Digital Certificate Notification 1 mail and click the
OKbutton.
- As it is distinguished the capital letter and the small letter, please input the user name and the

2.1.4 Digital ID Center Main Menu is displayed. Please click Enrollment of Digital ID.

2.1.5 Enrollment windows appears, please enter Passcode provided on Notification e-mail 1, and Company
Code provided on Notification e-mail 2. Click Submit button.

- As it is distinguished the capital letter and the small letter, please input Passcode and Company
Code as they are shown in Notification e-mails.

2.1.6 Installation of the ActiveX control
The following message might be displayed in the upper part of a browser while accessing the page that installs a
digital certificate.

In that case, it is necessary to install the ActiveX control according to the
following procedures.
1. Right-click in the message and select Installation of the ActiveX control.

2. The dialog box security warning is displayed, and click the button Install.

The installation of the ActiveX control is completed

2.1.7 Potential Scripting Violation dialog might appears twice, please click yes.

2.1.8 When a message Install FINISHED!!!appears on your screen, installing of Digital Certificate is
successfully completed.

2.2 How to rescue registration error
2.2.1 Passcode Error

The error message above appears, when Passcode or Company Code is not correct. Please confirm your
Passcode or Company Code in Notification e-mail 1 and 2 and try again form 2.1.4.
- If you input incorrect passcode five times, passcode will be locked and the following screen.

2.2.2 Locked Passcode.

When you input incorrect passcode or Company Code five times or more, passcode is locked and the screen
above is displayed. Please send e-mail to Customer Service Center and re-download it as we inform you after we
unlock.

2.2.3 Passcode Error

The error message appears, when the Digital Certificate is already downloaded.
Please contact to Customer Service Center to apply reset the Digital Certificate, and re-download it after you
receive Notification e-mails.
- Please note one certificate can be installed to one computer and once. As it cannot be copied or
exported, please log in with the user account of the PC which you actually use.

2.2.4 VBScript 1B6 Error

The error message appears when ActiveX Control is not installed. Please click OKand confirm Internet Explorer
configuration refer to 1.3.1Internet Explorer Configuration and 2.1.6Installation of the ActiveX control and then
try again from 2.1.4.

2.2.5 VBScript 800704C7Error

The above error message appears, when you click NO in 2.1.7Potential Scripting Violation.The below message
appears, when you click OK in above dialog box. Click Digital ID Center and try again from2.1.4.

2.3 Checking Digital Certificate
- Please make sure you are logging in to Windows with the same user account that was logged in with during
downloading Digital Certificate.

2.3.1 Checking installation of Digital Certificate
1. Start Internet Explorer

2. Select Tool from the menu and select Internet option

3. Click Contents tab as the screen of Internet Options appears.

4. Click Certificates button.

5. The screen of Certificates appears.

Please make sure the first 8 characters of Issued To is the same as the Passcode provided in Notification 1.
You can check with the Expiration date of Digital Certificate with this Dialog box.

Expiration Date 2009, July 19
- The Expiration Date is one year after the date of downloading.

2.3.2 Checking Digital Certificate Connection
1. Start Internet Explorer

2. Access the following URL.
https://jp.nissan.biz/GDIR/Logon.do
- As it is distinguished the capital letter and the small letter, please input URL above.

3. The screen of Choose a digital certificateappears, choose the digital certificate which you downloaded in
2.1 and click OK.

In following case,Choose a digital certificate is not displayed.
Nissan Global Directory System is included in Trusted Sitein Internet Explorer->ToolMenu->Internet
Options->Security tab

4. The login page of Nissan Global Directory System is displayed.

If the above login screen is displayed, function of Digital Certificate is OK..
- Please note that we do not manage and support User ID and Password used to login to the NISSAN
Global Directory System or other Nissan websites. Please check any correspondences from
Application Support Centers for further proceedings.

3 Renewal of Digital Certificate
The Expiration Date is one year after the date of downloading.
If the Expiration Date is over, the access to Nissan site is not available.
- When you install a digital certificate, please invalidate the security software (Virus measures software and
personal firewall, etc.) If a digital certificate is downloaded while it is effective, it occurs an error as it is
displayed installation has been completed successfully.

3.1 About Renewal Announcement for Digital Certificate
The Customer Service Center send the announcement of Renewal of Digital Certificate every last working day of
the month to the person whose Digital Certificate will expire in 2 months.

ExampleRenewal Announcement will be sent on August 29th, 2008 to the person who downloaded Digital
Certificate during October 1, 2007-October 31, 2007.

3.2 How to renew Digital Certificate
3.2.1 Checking installation of Digital Certificate
Digital ID renewal can be done starting from one month prior to its expiration date.
For checking the expiration date of Digital Certificate, please refer to 2.3.1Checking installation of Digital
Certificate.

3.2.2 Digital ID Renewal
If the expiration date of Digital Certificate is less than a month, please renew Digital Certificate with following
instruction.

1. Start Internet Explorer.

2. Please access to below URL notified in Nissan Supplier CA Digital Certificate Renewal Announcement

3. Below dialog box is displayed, input User Name and Password and click OK button.
- As it is distinguished the capital letter and the small letter, please input the user name and the

4. Homepage of Digital ID Center is displayed, click Digital ID Renewal.

5. Click Renewbutton.

6. Installation of the ActiveX control
Below message might be displayed on the upper side of browser, during access to the page of Digital ID Renewal.

In this case, installation of ActiveX Control is required with the following manual.
6-1. Right Click message and select Install ActiveX Control.

6-2 As Security Warningdialog box is displayed, clickInstallbutton.

7. As Digital ID Renewal screen is displayed, check with the Digital Certificate should be renew, and click
Renewbutton.

8. Potential Scripting Violationdialog box is displayed, click YESbutton.

ThenNew Digital Certificate is installed.

3.3 How to rescue error for a Digital Certificate renewal process
3.3.1 Online Enrollment Status: 1b6

If the ActiveX Control is not installed, above screen of Error might be displayed.
In that case, confirm Internet Explorer configuration refer to 1.3.1Internet Explorer Configuration and
3.2.2.6Installation of the ActiveX control and then try again.

3.3.2 No Renewable Digital ID could not be found.

This screen appears if the expiration date of the Digital Certificate remains more than 1 month.
Click OK, and back to Homepage of Digital ID Center.
Check with the expiration date of Digital Certificate referring to 2.3.1Checking installation of Digital Certificate,
and try it again after the expiration date remains less than 1 month.

3.4 How to delete old Digital Certificate
When the Digital Certificate is renewed or reissued, old Digital Certificate should be deleted.
Please refer to 2.3.1Checking installation of Digital Certificate, how to show the Digital Certificate you obtain.

3.4.1 If you obtain some certificates, you can check them in this screen.

3.4.2 Choose old Digital Certificate and click Removebutton.

3.4.3 Dialog box Certificates are displayed to confirm if the certificate should delete, click YES button.

3.4.4 The certificate is deleted, and only an effective certificate is displayed.

Deletion of the old certificate is completed.

4 The inquiry about a digital certificate
4.1 About customer service center
The customer service accept the request of additional issue / reissue / contact information change / deletion /
unlock of a digital certificate, and the inquiry about download or installation.

4.2 About Additional Digital Certificate
For your request, please contact us by e-mail with the necessary information below.
1. A number of Digital Certificate to issue

4.3 About Re-issue Digital Certificate
When a Digital Certificate becomes invalid to use (ExPC change/Downloaded to wrong PC/Reformat PC etc.),
please contact Customer Service Center by e-mail with the necessary information below.

4.4 How to change of contact information
When your e-mail address was changed, change of the contact information.is required.
Please contact Customer Service Center by e-mail with the necessary information below.

4.5 How to delete Digital Certificate
When the access to the Nissan site becomes unnecessary, and person who obtains a digital certificate retires,
please delete Digital Certificate.

4.6 How to unlock Passcode
When you input incorrect Passcode or company more than 5 times in Enrollment of Digital ID, passcode will be
rocked.

5 Notice
Digital Certificate server maintenance is performed during time period between 22:00 on Friday and 4:00 on
Saturday. (Japan standard time: irregularly)
During a server maintenance work, downloading of Digital ID becomes unavailable temporarily.
In that case, please try again after the maintenance time period. We apologize for the inconvenience.
