System : Administrator : Add Admins

 This screen allows you, the super admin, to create customized administrative frontends for some other
users, so that they can have full/limited access from the frontend using their login name instead of
suadmin.
 The menu and sub menu elements of the administrative frontend are listed on the right hand side. You can
expand specific element in the menu selection "tree" by clicking on the triangles along the check boxes.
 If you want to give Full/Restricted Access to the user, fill in the username and password, and choose the
respective option. In case of Restricted Access select the menu, sub menu elements you want the user to see
when he/she logs in.
 If you want to give Full/Restricted Access to the user, fill in the username and password, and choose the
respective option.
 In case of Restricted Access, select the menu, sub menu elements you want the user to see when he/she
logs in.
 Click the submit button to create the user.

System : Administrator : Change Email

 This screen allows you to specify / change Admin email addresses.


 Update notices, patches and other communications meant for the system admin are sent to email addresses
listed here. E.g. Antivirus update notifications, new RPMs etc.
 NOTE: You can give multiple email addresses by separating them with comma (,)

System : Administrator : Manage Admins

 This screen allows you to manage the admins/users who can access the administrative frontend of Mailserv.
Here you can take the following action for the admins ...
 Modify the password for an admin.
 Modify the list of menus, submenus you want to an admin to view.
 Delete the frontend for an admin.

 You can also modify your(suadmin) password for accessing this frontend.
 If You give Full Access to the User, you can login to the Login page of that user by clicking on the link given
in the suadmin.
 If You give Restricted Access to User, you can login to the Login page of that user by clicking on the link
given in the suadmin.

System : Administrator : Allowed Ips

 This screen allows users to add ips for suadmin frontend access,
so that only selected ips can access the suadmin page.

 Enter Valid IP address to be added and click on Add button to add to allowed IP's list.
 Format of the ips should be X.X.X.X where each X should be integer between 0 and 255.
 Admin can also view list of existing allowed ip addresses.
 To remove Allowed IP's from the list then check the checkbox and click on Delete.
System : License : View License

 The MailServ license can be viewed using this option


 Globaldomain : Global domain defiend for the mailserver.
 Module : You can view the modules information taken by you like mod_advanced_proxy(Squid),
mod_f-prot_antivirus (F-Prot antivirus) mod_http_virus_scanning (Dansguradian).
 Localdomain : Local domain id the location wise domain name given to your mailserver.
 Expire : The license expiry date can be viewed which will help you to renew your license in case it is
expired.
 Users: You can also view the total number of users for which the license it taking.

System : License : Upload

 Click "Browse" to select the License Key file from local machine and then click on "Upload".
 NOTE: The product gets registered / activated only if the file contains a valid license key.

System : Maintenance : Optimize Disk Space

This option will delete the old logs files from hard disk and make available free space on the hard disk

System : Maintenance : Backup : Download

 Lists all previously taken backups along with the date they were taken on.
 Click on the "Download" link to download the backup file on your local machine.
 While downloading the Backups, download the related Full/Differential Backups.
 You can delete the Backups by clicking on the Delete link.
 NOTE: Don't Delete Latest Backups which may be useful for future, Delete only Old Backups.

Used for starting the MailServ backup instantly

System : Maintenance : Backup : Configure Backup

 This screen allows you to configure the backup mechanism as per the needs of your organization. You can
take full/differential backups on HDD/Tape.
 Keep backups for days
Set it to 'N' (the number of days) you want the backup files to be kept.

Set it to '0' (zero) if you want to keep only the latest backup file.

 You can enter the email-id to which the Backup Status is to be sent after completion of backup process.
 Differential Backup
Checking this box would enable the differential backup
Here you can also set the frequency for full backup with respect to differential backups

 Backup to Tape

 Checking this box would enable tape backup

 You can then set whether the old backups on the tape should be erased from it when a new full backup it is
copied on it.

 You can also set the email ids (comma separated) to whom the index of the tape needs to be sent.

 Note Please enter Keep backup days at least greater than by two ,to the value in every differential
backup.

System : Maintenance : Backup : Remote Backup

 By default the backup is stored on MailServ. With this function you can make an additional copy on another
Windows/Linux machine.

 Select "Enable" to enable copying archives on a remote machine.

 Machine Name/ IP : Fill this text box with the name of the Windows/Linux machine or the ip address of the
Windows/Linux machine to be used for storing the backup files.

 Share Name: The directory on the Windows/Linux machine that will store the backup files. Enter the name of
shared folder/directory in this textbox.

 Share Password: Required if the shared folder specified above has an access password. Optional field.

 User Name: An optional field to be filled only for Windows server class family/Linux machines.

System : Maintenance : Backup : Restore from HDD

 This Screen shows the backup files available according to date.

 Before starting with the restoration make sure that the backup file of required date is available in the list. If
the required date does not appear in the list. Please copy the required files from your secondary media for
backup (e.g. Windows Machine or CD_ROM), please copy the directory (named in 'yyyymmdd' format) in the
path '/net/doc/netserv/backup/dar' so that it's shown in the list.

 Select an appropriate date and click on restore button to restore files from the backup

 WARNING: MailServ machine will be rebooted in order to complete the restor process.

 Restore backup for only selective users

Select the date and time of the existing backup.

Once this option is enabled, you will get the list of the users below for which you want to selectively restore
the mails from the existing backup.

System : Maintenance : Backup : Restore from Remote

 Used for restoring the backup from remote backup server.

 This Screen shows the backup files available according to date.

the required date does not appear in the list. Please copy the required files from your secondary media for

System : Maintenance : Backup : Upload Index File

Click "Browse" to select the Backup Upload Index file from local machine and then click on "Upload".

System : Remote Admin : Netcore Support

You will be able to generate the ssh and https port numbers, which you can given to the Netcore Support
Team for remote access of your mail server.

System : Configure System

 This page allows administrator to configure Global and Local domain names.

 This page also allows administrator to configure incoming mail server for UUCP.

 If your incoming mail server is UUCP (i.e. if your mails are hosted with netcore, then select the UUCP and
enter the appropriate entries i.e. Server name, Node name and Password.

 All the fields are compulsory.

 Current Mail Relay: Shows the currently set Mail Relay.

 Mail Relay:

By default, UUCP (Unix to Unix Copy Protocol) is used for mail transactions with the Netcore Mail Server.
Choose this option if you want to use the Netcore Mail Server for relaying.

Direct: This would make MailServ talk with Internet directly without the Netcore Mail Server playing any part.

SMTP Relay: MailServ would use the specified SMTP server and that server would then take care of sending
your mails across.

 Relay Server: Name / IP of the relaying server. This is the actual machine that relays the mails.

 Server Requires Auth: If this option is enabled, you need to add the login name and password required fir
smtp authentication.
 Max Outgoing Size (in KB): Enter the maximum size an individual outgoing mail can have. If the mail size
exceeds the given limit, the mail doesn't go out and bounces back to the user.

 If you are Integrating Mailserv with any other Messaging System, (e.g. Exchange Server, Lotus Server etc)
please select the 'yes' option and give relevant IP or Host Name. You also need to add the domain to be
integrated.

 NOTE: Mail size also includes the mail headers created by the mail client. Therefore the actual size of the
mail should be slightly less than the Max Outgoing Size.

NETWORK

Network : ADSL : Configure

 This Screen allows you to configure your ADSL connection.

 The following fields will be provided by your ISP :


 Username/Password
 Primary & Secondary DNS Server
 Service Name & AC Name
 NIC(Ethernet) : The LAN card used to make the connection. Entry will contain eth0, eth1 depending on which
lan card you are configuring.

Network : ADSL : Connect

 Used for manually connecting the ADSL

Network : ADSL : Disconnect

 Used for manually disconnecting the ADSL

Network : Advanced : ADS Integration


 Enter Details of ADS Server and Click on verify button to determine if information entered can be properly
authenticated
or not.

 If details entered get authenticated then Admin will be shown options for ADS-Authentication,ADS-
Autocreation and
Syncronisation of Address Book Information.
 Enabling Ads Authentication will configure MailServ for ADS Server Authentication(i.e authentication of users
will happen through ADS Server).
 If ADS Server Authentication authentication is enabled and also ADS autocreation is enabled
then all users in ADS not integrated with Exchange/Lotus Server will be added in MAILSERV as mailbox
users.
 If ADS Server Authentication authentication and ADS autocreation as well as Syncronisation(of Address Book
Info)
is enabled then all users in ADS Server integrated with Exchange/Lotus Server will be added in MAILSERV as
contact
users and those users of ADS Server not integrated with Exchange/Lotus Server will be added in MAILSERV
as mailbox
users.
 (If ADS Server Authentication is enabled and ADS autocreation is disabled) or (If ADS Server Authentication is
disabled)
and ADS Syncronisation (of Address Book Info) is enabled then all users in ADS Server irrespective of
whether they are integrated or not with Exchange/Lotus Servers will be added in mailserv as Contact users.

Network : Advanced : Configure IP

 This page allows the administrator to change IP addresses.

 Please Note that IP will be changed at all the places.


 You can change IP of only one interface at a time.

Network : Advanced : Configure Network Routing

 Routes to networks can be Added / Edited / Deleted using this function.

 Network Routing configuration is adding a new network route to your network.


 Click on ADD For adding, The page will be displayed for adding new network
Here you have to give new network IP, netmask and gateway, to reach that network.
 Select the networks for deletion then click on DELETE to delete that network from your network.
 Click on the link of network to edit the network.

--------------------------Steps for adding routes:---------------------------


 Network: Fill the Network ID for which you wish to add route e.g. (192.168.10.0).
 NetMask: Enter Ne tmask for the above-mentioned network ID.
 Gateway: Enter the IP address of the gateway system used to reach the above network.
 Interface: Select the appropriate interface such as eth0 (Ethernet card0), eth1 (Ethernet card 1) that will be
used to route information
Network : Advanced : Configure Reverse DNS

 Reverse DNS turns an IP address into a hostname (Domain Name) unlike Standard DNS where are turning a
hostname into an IP address takes place.
-- for example, it might turn 192.0.2.25 into host.example.com

 ADD: Network ID: Enter the Network ID of the new network.


e.g. For the network 192.168.2.* having a netmask of 255.255.255.0, the Network ID is 192.16 8.2.0
 DELETE: Select the network to delete.

Network : Advanced : Public IP or Hostname

 This page allows the administrator to change the Public IP address or the Resolvable Hostname for
FreebusyURL .

 Admin can also specify the type or name of the protocol which is used to connect to the Server.

Network : Advanced : SMTP Rewrite Rules

 This Screen allows users to add SMTP rewrite rules.

 SMTP Rewrite Maps are normally used for when MailServ is relaying mails to Another Mailserv and if Email
addresses need to be rewritten before sending it.
 For eg. if the local domain of the mail server is location.domain.com, in the smtp headers
user@location.domain.com will be added. If you want the location part to be removed from the smtp
headers while delivering mails to other mail server you can achieve it using this option.
 Each domain and its mapping should consist of alphanumerics, hyphen, underscore
and dot characters only.

Network : Email Setup : Block Attachments

 This screen shows the status of attachment blocking.

 Enable: means all rules for attachment blocking are active and any rule if met will block the attachment.
 Disable: means all rules for attachment blocking are inactive and any rule if met will not block any of the
attachment.
 If you want to add any rule click on the link for Add New Attachment Block.
 After all creating rules, Enable the block attachments.
 If you want to search or modify any rule groupwise and for All Users then click on the link View/Manage
Rules for All Users/Groupwise.
 If you want to search or modify any rule Userwise then click on the link View/Manage Rules Userwise.

Network : Email Setup : Add Attachment Block Rules

 This Frontend Allows you to Add New Attachment Blocking Rules for allusers on this system,
selected users or selected groups .

 For Adding rules for all system users click on ALLUSERS , give proper extension list and select the action.
There are 3 types of action possible, 'Delete', 'Notify Sender and Delete' and 'Delete and Forward To'.
 If action is 'Delete' the mail with the blocked extension will be deleted.
 If the action is ' Notify Sender and Delete', sender will get one notification that the mail with the blocked
extension was deleted and the mail with that extension will be deleted.
 If action is 'Delete and Forward To' then give valid email-id.
 NOTE: Action is available for ALLUSERS only and it over-writes the previous rule.
 For Adding rules for users click on Selected Users radio button and select the list from Left Hand Side box
and click on Add>> to add to the list to which the rules to be applied.
 For Adding rules for Group click on Selected Group radio button, select the group. To EXEMPT some
members from the group then select the group members from Right Hand Side box and click on <<Remove
so that these users are exempted from the group rules.
 NOTE: It is not allowed to add extension rule, if already a rule exists with the same extension for the
selected group.
 Enter the Extension list that is to blocked separated by commas without any special characters.
 Click on Update Rules to update the rules.
 Extensions Example : gif,doc,xls
NOTE: Do not enter the '.' in extension list

 Once the rules are made, click on Apply Policies, for applying the rules. You will require to restart the SMTP
service after applying the rule.

 In this page you will find Current Attachment Groupwise and Current Attachments Userwise

Network : Email Setup : View/Delete Group Attachment Rules

 This Frontend Allows you to Delete the Attachment rules of Groups and ALLUSERS.

 If any rules exists for ALLUSERS then it's shown separately above the groups rules and if u want to delete
the Rules of ALLUSERS click on the button Delete Rules of ALLUSERS.
 You can search the extension by entering extension and selecting any group or ALL GROUPS.
 NOTE: The group list shown are the groups which contains rules.
 For listing all extensions of selected group enter * or .* or leave nothing or space.
 Simply check the corresponding check box of which you want to delete the respected rules
and click on button Delete Rules.

 You an also prioritize the rules which you have added. You can use the up/down arrow next to Group Name,
Attachment Extension and Exempted Users.

 Click on Apply Policies to apply the rule

Network : Email Setup : View/Delete User Attachment Rules

 This Frontend Allows you to Delete the Attachment rules of Users.

 Simply check the corresponding check box you want to delete the rules and click on button Delete Rules.
 NOTE:If you delete the attachment rule of the particular user, then his corresponding attachment rules
that exists in his group will also be deleted (i.e, he is exempted from his groups in which the same
attachment rules exists).
 Click on Apply Policies to apply the rule

Network : Email Setup : Body block : Enable/Disable

 This screen shows the status of body blocking.

 Enable : means all rules for body blocking are active and any rule if met will block the body.
 Disable : means all rules for body blocking are inactive and any rule if met will not block any of the body.
 If you want to add/edit an body block, click on Add/Edit Body Block
 After all creating rules, Enable the block body.
 If you want to view/delete the body blocked currently for All Users/Groupwise , click on View/Delete Rules
for All Users/Groupwise
 If you want to view/delete the body blocked currently userwise , click on View/Delete Rules Userwise

Network : Email Setup : Add Body Block Rules

 This Frontend Allows you to Add New body Blocking Rules for selected users or selected groups .

 For Adding rules for users click on Selected Users radio button and select the list from Left Hand Side box
and click on Add>> to add to the list to which the rules to be applied.
 For Adding rules for Group click on Selected Group radio button, select the group. To EXEMPT some
members from the group then select the group members from Right Hand Side box and click on <<Remove
so that these users are exempted from the group rules.
 Enter the body text which is to be blocked for the selected user/group.
 Select the Action for the mail in case it comes with the specific body block for which you have added the
rule. The below 2 actions can be taken ;
 Notify : If this action is selected you have to mention the email address to which a notification mail will
be sent.
 Notify & Delete: If this action is selected, a notification mail will be sent. to the email address mentioned
by you, after which the mail with that body content which you have blocked will be deleted.

that exists in his group will also be deleted (i.e, he is exempted from his groups in which the same body
rules exists).

 MX directly pointed to MailServ= If MX is directly pointing to MailServ, then check this. In this case you have
to specify the level of spamcheck.
 MX not pointing to MailServ= Use this option if MX is not directly pointing towards MailServ.

Network : Email Setup : Disclaimer

 This Screen allows you to attach a disclaimer to all outgoing mails.

 You can directly generate the HTML equivalent using 'Generate HTML' button.
 Note that the Disclaimer will not be attached for Local Mails.

 You can Enable or Disable the Antivirus Stamp for the disclaimer.

 You can define disclaimer domain wise, in a multidomain setup.

Network : Email Setup : External Mail Fetcher

 Using MailServ, one can fetch emails from external POP3 / IMAP servers.

 Click on "Enabled" if you wish to make use of this service.


 Select the "Keep copy on Server" option if you want to keep a copy of your email on the remote server. If not,
then select "Delete from Server" and all downloaded emails shall be deleted from the remote server. This is a
useful option if one receives lot of emails and don't like to clog their inboxes.
 Domain Name: Enter the name of the domain that has been configured on your network. You can find
configured domain name by clicking on Status->System Usage.
 Server Type: Select the type of service, IMAP or POP3 used by your email service provider.
 Server: Enter the Server name, from where you want to fetch the mails. It is usually the part that appears
after "@" sign in this field.
 Username/Password: Specify the username and password of your mail account on the server from which you
are fetching the mails.

Network : Email Setup : Manage Secondary Domains


 This page allows Administrator to Add/delete Secondary Domain.

 To add new secondary domain, Enter the domain name and it's location in the given input boxes and Click
on Add domain button.
 Only You can modify the location of your secondary domain or you can delete the secondary domain.
 On this Page you can't modify or change the primary domain(global domain) and it's location for that you
have to go to link (System : Configure System ) to change your primary domain details.
 If you click on Delete any secondary domain it will ask for confirmation,
 On clicking yes, Your selected secondary domain configuration settings,
Users, Groups, Fetchmail setups, Users/Groups restrictions related to that Secondary domain are deleted.
 Be sure before deleting your secondary domain, because all the configurations, settings will be lost and can't
be recovered.

 This page allows Administrator to Modify the Location of Secondary Domain.

 Note: Location name should not contain any special characters.


 Secondary domain name is not changeable.

 This screen allows Admin to migrate mails from the any Exchange/MailServ/Lotus server .

 Enter the server ip and click the Button 'Verify Imap Connection' for determining whether Imap connection to
the Server can be established or not .
 If the Imap connectivity gets verified upload csv file with user info .
 Format of .csv file will be as follows :-
 Old server user names ,Old server user password,New server user names ,New server user password
 Usernames should be valid emailids or user names .
 Password values should not be blank.
 You can also Download the Example csv which is available in this page.

Network : Email Setup : Spam Control

 This screen shows the list of domains / email addresses who are under spam control.

 To add an entry under Spam Control click on "Add Control".


 Domain / Email: The domain name or email address which has been put under spam control.
 Action: The control which has been put on the Domain / Email address.
 OK: Will act as an exception and accept the email ignoring other rules.
 DISCARD: Delete the email but do not bounce back.
 RELAY: Allows mail relay from the specified domain / IP.
 REJECT: Bounce the email back to the sender with a message.

 For editing the spam control rules, click on Edit against that rule. After editing the rules, click on Submit.

 For deleting the rules, click on Delete against that rule. A confirmation Window will appear, in which you
have to press Yes option to confirm.

 Enable : means all rules for subject blocking are active and any rule if met will block the subject.

 If you want to add any rule click on the link for Add/Edit New Subject Block.
 After all creating rules, Enable the block subject.
 If you want to search or modify any rule groupwise and for All Users then click on the link View/Manage
Rules for All Users/Groupwise.
 If you want to search or modify any rule Userwise then click on the link View/Manage Rules
Userwise.

Network : Email Setup : Add Subject Block Rules

 This Frontend Allows you to Add New subject Blocking Rules for selected users or selected groups .

 For Adding rules for users click on Selected Users radio button and select the list from Left Hand Side box
and click on Add>> to add to the list to which the rules to be applied.
 For Adding rules for Group click on Selected Group radio button, select the group. To EXEMPT some
members from the group then select the group members from Right Hand Side box and click on <<Remove
so that these users are exempted from the group rules.
 Enter the subject text which is to be blocked for the selected user/group.
 You can mention the the Action to be taken when the mail with the blocked subject line is received. The
actions are as below :
 Notify : If this action is selected you have to mention the email address to which a notification mail will
be sent.
 Notify & Delete: If this action is selected, a notification mail will be sent. to the email address mentioned
by you, after which the mail with that body content which you have blocked will be deleted.
 Delete : If this action is selected, the mail with that subject content which you have blocked will be
deleted.
 NOTE: It is not allowed to add subject block rule, if already a rule exists with the same subject for the
selected group.
 Click on Update Rules to update the rules.

Network : Email Setup : View/Delete User Subject Block Rules

 This Frontend Allows you to Delete the subject rules of Users.

 Simply check the corresponding check box you want to delete the rules and click on button Delete Rules.
 NOTE:If you delete the subject rule of the particular user, then his corresponding subject rules that exists in
his group will also be deleted (i.e, he is exempted from his groups in which the same subject rules exists).

 Search bar at the top also allows you to search for that particular subject line.

 For listing all the subject block rules of all users in ALL DOMAINS enter * or .* or leave nothing or space in
body contains and username contains and In Domain select ALL DOMAINS. Click on Submit.
 After making the required changes, click on 'Apply Policies Now'.

 This Frontend Allows you to Delete the Subject rules of Groups.

 You can search the subject by entering subject and selecting any group or ALL GROUPS.
 NOTE: The group list shown are the groups which contains rules.
 For listing all subjects of selected group enter * or .* or leave nothing or space.
 Simply check the corresponding check box of which you want to delete the respected rules
and click on button Delete Rules.

Network : ISP : Add

 ISP Name: Name by which the connection can be identified, usually your ISP's name.

 COM port: Select the COM port to which the modem is attached to be used for dialing out for this ISP.
 Dialing Numbers: Enter the phone numbers provided by your ISP for dialing.
 Click "Enable" if the corresponding number is to be used while dialing or click on "Disable".
 Login / Password: Provide the login and password you use to sign on to your ISP.
 NOTE: If your ISP provides PAP (Password Authentication Protocol) you can skip the next two points.
 Does your ISP prompt you for a login: Select Yes, if you need to enter your login / password every time you
connect to your ISP.
 Username / Password Prompt: Authentication prompt provided by the ISP that appears requesting you to
enter your username and password. Enter the actual string that appears at the prompt and not your ISP
username and password.
E.g. Login or Username / Password
 Does your ISP provide AutoPPP facility: Select "No" if the ISP requires to type the string "ppp" or something
similar after successful authentication.
 If NO, then please enter the PPP prompt: Enter the prompt, usually a ">" sign that appears when successfully
authenticated by ISP and asking you to type "ppp".
 PPP Text: Enter the string provided by your ISP, usually "ppp".

 This screens is for entering multiple dialing numbers of an ISP.

 COM port on which a modem is connected and enabled for dialing out is indicated by *.

 Click on "Enable" next to the ISP which is to be used while dialing out.
 Multiple ISPs can be enabled for dialing into the net.

 Checking the number enables it to be used for dialing out.

 If a particular number is busy, the dialer dials the next number from the enabled numbers list.

 Used for switching the connection to ADSL

 NOTE:Be sure that your Modem is connected to port and select it (link is Network : Modem : Select)

 Then ISP details are to be added (link is Network: ISP: Add).


 After adding ISP you should enable the isp (link is Network: ISP: Select ISP).
 Then Modem should be configured properly (link is Network: Modem: Configure).
 Now only you can switch to dial-up mode.
 You can schedule the timings in which periods the modem should connect to internet (link is Scheduler:
Connectivity Denial).
 To get the Modem online click on the link Network: ISP: Go Online.
 See the status of Connectivity (link is Status: Connectivity).

Network : Internet : Lease,Cable


 Enter the Gateway IP Address in the text box and click on "Submit".

Network : Modem : Configure

 NOTE: Modem is connected to the COM port marked in red.

 Configure various Modem related settings.

 Click on "Update Settings" to apply the changes.


 NOTE: You are modifying the settings of an enabled COM port.

Network : Modem : Enable RAS

 Select the COM port to which modem is connected allowing remote dialing into MailServ.

 Remote Machine IP: Static local LAN IP address to be assigned to the remotely connected machine.
 Click on the "Enable RAS" button to enable this service.
 NOTE: COM port used by MailServ to connect to the Internet is not listed.

 If you want to disable RAS, use this option.

 Click the "Enable" option of the COM port to be enabled for dialing-out.

 Mails Auto deletion: As the name suggests mail deletion is like automatic deleting mails after specified
number of days in the specified folders of an email id.

 The power of this feature lies in the fact that you can specify different expiry dates for different folders of a
single email id.
 Select the checkbox given in the left in order to set the auto expire feature for a particular folder folder of an
email ID.
 Further You can Create and Delete folders depending on your organizations requirements. There are three
default folders "Inbox", "sent-mail", "Trash". Other than these three folders you can create and delete folders
as per your requirement.
 In order to Add or Delete folders follow these steps :
 Click on "Add or Delete Folder" button. It will give a pop up window for creating and deleting folders
other than these three default folders
 To delete a folder, click on the “Add or Delete Folder”, simply select the checkbox given before the
folder name and click Delete.
 To Add a folder simply type in the name of the folder in the text box given and click Add.
 Once you are through with the changes then click Done so that the changes made by you take effect in the
main window.

 On the top there is Search Bar, which will help you to quickly search for the particular user for whom you
want to set the auto delete feature.

 You have to enter the complete email id, from 'In Domain' select the domain name,

 Email Restriction: As the name suggests email restriction is like restricting a group of email ids to
send/receive mails to/from particular email ids/domains.

 The power of this feature lies in the fact that you can create rules for allow/deny, incoming /outgoing mails
for entire domain as well.
 Select the group for which the email restrictions are to be set.
 Type email-ids or proper domain in the text box and click "Add".
 Enter only valid email addresses or domain names in Email Restriction text box.
 Clicking on Upload link will open a window through which u can upload a file of users
 Every email-id shouldn't contains its localdomain only globaldomains are allowed in emailids
 Every domain-name shouldn't contain it's location.
 Enter the moderators valid email ids separated by (,) commas.
 If moderators email id belongs to mailserv user then enter email id with localdomain
to deliver the mail to moderator quickly.
 To delete a ID/domain from the group click on the ID/domain and click "Remove".
 NOTE:
 If you checked the 'Allow' and 'Incoming' check boxes then the members of the
group can only receive mail from the added email ids.
 In the same way if you checked 'Deny' and 'Both' check boxes then the members of the
group can not receive or send mails to the email ids added.
 Changes will not take effect until you click on "Submit".

 If you want to see the existing Email Restriction Rules, click on View Rules.

 Action to be taken are as below when the Email restriction rules are met :

 Forward Moderator : In this case, the email which satisfies the Email restriction rule set by you will be
forwarded to the Moderator's email id.

 Notify Moderator : The moderator gets a notification when an email satisfies the Email restriction rule
set by you.

 Notify Sender : The sender gets a notification when an email satisfies the Email restriction rule set by
you.

 Forward Moderator and Notify Sender : In this case, the email which satisfies the Email restriction rule
set by you will be forwarded to the Moderator's email id and a notification will be sent to the sender.

 Notify Moderator and Notify Sender : The moderator and sender gets a notification when an email
satisfies the Email restriction rule set by you.

Accounts : Advanced : Privileged Ids

 Privilege ID: Privileged IDs are nothing but email ids with some special privileges.
for e.g: you can set rules like only a particular email-id/domain is allowed/denied to send mails to particular
group_id.

 NOTE:
 It can be alphanumeric i.e. contain letters and numbers.
 Can contain the underscore (_), hyphen (-) signs and (.) dot signs.
 Privilege Members:
 Clicking on Upload link will open a window through which u can upload a file of users
 Type a valid email-address or valid domain-name in the text box and click "Add".
 Alternately click on the search button, enter some search parameters and click on any users you want to
add.
 To delete a user from the group click on the email id/domain from the "Selected IDs" box and press the
"Remove" button.
 To view the existing privil-id rules click on the link view rules or simply select that group-id from Restricted
Group ID.
 To Modify existing privil-id rules for a particular group-id select that group-id from Restricted Group ID and
Modify.
 NOTE:If Moderators Email id belongs to mailserv user then enter email id with local domain
to deliver the mail to moderator quickly.
 NOTE: Changes will not take effect until you click on "Submit".

 Action to be taken are as below when the Privileged id rules are met :

you will be forwarded to the Moderator's email id and a notification will be sent to the sender.
 Notify Moderator and Notify Sender: The moderator and sender gets a notification when an email
satisfies the Privileged id rule set by you.

Accounts : Advanced: Remove POP LOCK

 This option lets you remove the pop lock of the given email id.

 Enter the emailid which exists in mailserv to remove pop lock of that emailid.

Accounts : Advanced : Set Quota for Domain

 Select the domain to set the quota to the users of that domain.

 Type the quota you want.


 The actual quota for a user will be:
 The users quota if that is specified OR the domain quota to which the user belongs.
 NOTE: if it is -1 then it will inherit from Global Quota.
 NOTE: Global Quota should not be either 0,-1 or empty.
 Quota should be -1(or inherit), -2(unlimited) or any positive no other than '0'.
 To set the Quota as unlimited type -2 or unlimited in the text box.
 To set the Quota to inherit from domain's allusers group type -1 or inherit in the text box.
NOTE: special characters and spaces not allowed

 If you want the Global Quota to be enforced for all the users of a particular domain, then select that
domain from the Restricted Domain list and select the Enforce Quota option.

Accounts : Advanced : Watchdog

 Watchdog : Watchdog is a dog guarding the door for you. In emailing terms, it means that you can monitor
mails or archive mails for a particular email-id or a group of email-ids. You can set any email id as a
watchdog for particular group, a copy of all incoming/outgoing mails to/from any member of a group would
be received by watch dog email-id.

 Watchdog does not affect the delivery of mails. In a way the mail is transparently forwarded to the watchdog
email id.
 Select the group for which watch dog is to set.
1. Type watch dogs login ID in the text box and click "Add".
2. For eg. if you want to set 'wdog' user as watchdog for a domain netcore.co.in which in mumbai
location you should set the watchdog as wdog@mumbai.netcore.co.in.
 To delete a login id from the group click on the ID and press the "Remove" button.
 If you don't remember the watch dog id you can find it by clicking on "Search for User IDs".
 NOTE: Changes will not take effect until you click on "Submit".

 You can add a group without any members in it. This will be useful when you do Bulk Upload, where you
need an existing group name to add a user to a group.

 'Click to get MAC' will open a window where you have to enter the ip address for which you want the MAC
address.

 Group ID: Enter the Group ID which will act as an email alias. Next to the Group id you will find the domain
name for which you want to make the group.

 It can be alphanumeric i.e. contain letters and numbers.

 It has to begin with a letter.
 Group ID should not be in member list.
 Group Description: Enter some short descriptive text.
 Members:
 Type a member's Email ID in the text box and click "Add".
 If you don't remember the Email ID you can find it by clicking on "Search for User IDs".
 Search will only look into the list below the textbox on left hand side.
 You can add Members from left hand side(LHS) list to right hand side(RHS) list.
 You can Remove the Members from Right hand side(RHS) list.
 To see all the users in the list click on "Reset".
 If the group member is not a user on this MailServ then enter his full email address e.g.
externalmember@example.com.
 To delete a user from the group click on his ID from the "Selected IDs" box and press the "Remove" button.
 NOTE:
 Changes will not take effect until you click on Submit.
 You can add a group without any members in it. This will be useful when you do Bulk Upload, where you
need an existing group name to add a user to a group.

Accounts : Users : Bulk Upload

 This option lets you add users in bulk from a data file prepared locally.

 The fields entered in the data file have to confirm to the structure of the sample file.
 Click on "Browse" to choose the data file from local machine.
 Clicking on "Submit" will upload the file and add the Users from it.

 Guidelines for preparing the data file: -
 Mode - This denotes the action to be taken on the corresponding record

 A: If this is the mode then the record is added.


 M: This mode is used to modify an already existing record.

 Mail Flag - Decides whether a record is a local mailbox or an address book entry.

 1: Denotes the record as mailbox on local MailServ.


 0: Record is added as an address-book entry only and no mailbox is created.
 If password field is kept blank then password will be equal to Login id.
 Local Domain - The sub-domain of the local MailServ.
 The following fields are compulsory: -
Mode, Mail Flag, Proxy Flag, Incoming Flag, Outgoing Flag
 If "Set to Default Quota" is '0' and "Mail Quota" is left blank then the "Mail Quota" is by default set to
'Unlimited'.

Accounts : Users : Detailed Add

 Login ID: The Login ID forms the email id of the user.

 NOTE:
 It can be alphanumeric i.e. contain letters and numbers.
 Can contain the underscore (_) and hyphen (-) signs.
 No other special characters are not allowed.
 It has to begin with a letter.
 Password: It should be of minimum 3 letters.
 Display Name: Enter the name of the user whose account is being created.
 Mail Quota: By default it is set to inherit(or -1) from domain's mailquota or GlobalQuota,
to make mailquota of user to unlimited(or -2) check the unlimited radio box,
OR to set mailquota to some value(in KB) check the Set to radio box and enter the +ve non-zero value.
 Allow Proxy: Click on "Yes" to allow the user to browse the Internet else click on "No".
 Incoming Flag: This flag determines whether the user is allowed to receive mails or not.
 Outgoing Flag: This flag determines whether the user is allowed to send mails or not.
 Incoming Mail size: The maximum size of a single incoming mail (including the size of attachments and
headers)
 Outgoing Mail size: The maximum size of a single outgoing mail (including the size of attachments and
headers)
 Select Group: This is the list of all existing groups, select the groups in which you wnat the user to be added.
 Click on "Add User" button to commit changes.

Accounts : Users : Manage

 This screen shows list of existing the users in a selected group or All users by default. Also, it allows you to
take various actions like

 send mail to a user


 delete a user or a set of selected users
 modify a user's profile, password
 setup email forwarding, vacation response
 setup external mail fetcher for a user.
 The select box on top (right-hand side), allows you to select and view the users in a particular group.
 Click on the email icon to send mail to a particular user.
 To delete a user or multiple users, check the relevant boxes and click the delete button at the bottom of the
screen.
 To delete all users use the topmost checkbox and click the 'delete' button at the bottom of the screen.
 Click on the userid to modify the user profile.
 Click on the password/forward/vacation/mailfetch icon to perform corresponding operation with repect to a
particular user

Accounts : Users : Quick Add

 Use this option to quickly add a single user or multiple users with minimum details.

 Full Name: Enter the name of the user whose account is being created.
 Login: The Login ID forms the email id of the user.
 NOTE:
 It can be alphanumeric i.e. contain letters and numbers.
 Can contain the underscore (_) and hyphen (-) and dot(.) signs.
 No other special characters are not allowed.

 Default mailquota of user is (-1) i.e., inherit from uid domain's mailquota or GlobalQuota.

Accounts : Users : Upload User Passwords

 This option lets you add modify passwords of already added users.

 The fields entered in the data file have to confirm to the structure of the sample file.
 Click on "Browse" to choose the data file from local machine.
 Clicking on "Submit" will upload the file and add the Users from it.
 Download a Sample file from this page to upload the user passwords.
 Guidelines for preparing the data file: -
 First row should be heading "UserName,Password ".
 user names should be valid users.
 passwords can consist of any valid character.
 Check for more than 2 columns in any one of the rows on receiving message "Only two columns allowed".

Accounts : Contacts

 This screen shows list of existing non mailserv users. Also, it allows you to take various actions like

 send mail to a user


 delete a user or a set of selected users
 Click on the email icon to send mail to a particular user.
 To delete a user or multiple users, check the relevant boxes and click the delete button at the bottom of the
screen.
 To delete all users use the topmost checkbox and click the 'delete' button at the bottom of the screen.

STATUS

Status : Connectivity

 Displays the status of MailServ's connection to the internet.


 Connection Status: Displays "Not Connected" if MailServ is not connected to the internet. Otherwise it shows
the mode of connectivity i.e. "Dial-Up" or "Leased Line".
 If mode of connectivity is Dial-Up, the below information is displayed.
Internet IP:- Dynamic IP alloted to MailServ on connection by the ISP.
ISP:- Name of the ISP used for dialing.
Last Connected on:- Date and Time when MailServ last connected to the internet.

 If mode of connectivity is Leased Line, the below information is displayed.


Default Gateway IP Address:- This is the IP address of the Gateway that MailServ is using for connecting to
the internet.

Status : Disk Usage

 Displays disk space information of a user's mailbox.


 User Limit: The maximum disk space (Mail Quota) that has been alloted to the user.
 Usage: This is the disk space that is currently occupied by the user's mailbox
 You can modify the Mail Quota for a user by clicking on his "Login".
 Percentage Used will show the percentage of the alloted space used by the user.

Status : Mail

 Shows a list of pending outgoing emails that are yet to be sent.


 If all emails have already been dispatched it displays "NO MAILS IN QUEUE".
 Click on the "Mail-queue ID" to view the contents of an email.
 To Delete mails that are still in the outgoing queue click on it's corresponding check box and press "Delete".

Status : Mail Fetcher

 Shows the status of the External Mail fetcher configured, whether Running or not.
 You can start the Mail fetcher by clicking on the Start Now link
 Also shows the date and time when the mail fetcher fetched the mails from the remote server.
 'Total no of times mail fetched' shows the number of times the mail fetching process was executed.

Status : System Usage

 This screen displays System Information and Usage Statistics.


 System : Antivirus Last Updated: The date when the Antivirus files were last updated.
 If Antivirus is not installed it shows "Not Applicable".
 Disk Space: Space that is used and available on each hard disk partition.
 If the amount of space that is available is low you can increase it by cleaning unwanted files. Go to "System :
Maintenance : Optimize Disk Space" for doing so.
 RAM / Memory Usage : Shows the utilization of the RAM and swap space.
 Load Average: Shows the load on the server since Past 1 min, Past 5 min and Past 15 min.

SCHEDULER

Scheduler : External Mail Fetcher : Parallel

 For deciding the No. of Fetchmail instances, please involve Netcore Support as a higher number may slow
down your MailServer considerably.

 This function is used to set the time interval for fetching mails Parallely from the external POP / IMAP server.
 From the dropdown select the time interval at which MailServ should query the external server and download
any new mails.
 If the "Connect to Internet" box is checked then internet connection will be established if required.
Otherwise the external server cannot be checked for new mails if MailServ is not already connected to
internet.
Scheduler : External Mail Fetcher

 This function is used to set the time interval for fetching mails from the external POP / IMAP server.

 If the "Connect to Internet" box is checked then internet connection will be established if required.

Scheduler : Backup

 This function is for setting up a daily schedule for MailServ backups.

 By default backup is taken everyday at 12 P.M.


 Select the times at which you want the backup to take place.
 E.g. If you select the '09', '13' and '17' checkboxes, backup will be taken three times a day at 9 A.M. in the
morning, 1 P.M. in the afternoon and 5 P.M. in the evening.
 "Reset Scheduler" will re-initialize the scheduler to take backup at the default time of 12 P.M.
 NOTE: There will be only one backup file created for a day. Multiple backups taken during a day will
overwrite the previous backup file.
 NOTE: Please take care that the MailServ machine is ON at the time of the schedule otherwise there won't be
any backups during that period.

Scheduler : Browsing Denial

 This function helps to disable browsing when MailServ is connected to internet for other purposes.

 Select the time periods at which you want to disable browsing and click on "Update".
 "Reset Scheduler" clears the existing schedule.
 Changes will take effect within next 5 minutes.
 NOTE: Please restart the Proxy service for the changes to take effect.

Scheduler : Connectivity Denial

 This function helps to disable MailServ connecting to internet during the specified periods of time. MailServ
works on the principle of Dial-on-Demand i.e. it connects to the internet whenever there is a need to do so.
But with a "Connectivity Denial" schedule it won't connect even if there is a requirement.

 Select the time periods at which you want to prevent MailServ from connecting to internet.
 "Reset Scheduler" clears the existing schedule.
 NOTE: This schedule has the highest precedence i.e. it overrides all other schedules.
E.g. The "Email Schedular" is setup for 6 P.M. and the "Connectivity Denial" schedule is setup to prevent
connection at 6 P.M.. In this case the "Email Schedular" will be overriden and MailServ would not connect to
internet for mails.

Scheduler : Email

 Email Scheduler is used to setup the schedule for transacting mails with the Netcore Mail Server.

 Current Schedule: Details of the current schedule.


 Hours: The Hour at which to transact. If you have multiple hours selected it would transact that many times
during a day.
 Minutes: The time in Minutes at which to transact during the Hour(s) specified above. If you have multiple
minutes selected it would transact those many times during those hours.
 Schedule One should preferably be used for Day Time schedule and Schedule Two for Night Time.
 Examples:
 In order to setup a Day Time schedule to transact mails every 15 minutes between 9 A.M. and 5 P.M. you
have to do the following:-
Schedule One -

 Under "Hours" select '09', '10', '11', '12', '13', '14', '15', '16', '17'
 Under "Minutes" select '00', '15', '30', '45'
 Concurrently to setup a Night Time schedule to transact mails every 30 minutes between 6 P.M. and 9
P.M. you have to do the following:-
Schedule Two -

 Under "Hours" select '18', '19', '20', '21'


 Under "Minutes" select '00', '30'

REPORTS

Reports : Internet : HTTP Browsing : Static Reports

 Shows the mailserver proxy report in monthly, weekly, daily and live format.

Report : Internet : Browsing : Live Report

 This Screen will show you the Live Reports of browsing.


 This screen allows you to make search on IP/User or WebSite.
 To get the Sorted result you can select one of following from the Sort.
USAGE : Will sort on the basis of Bytes Transfered, during Browsing in Descending Order
TIME : You will get Report on the basis of Time (Latest will be on First Page i.e. Descending Order) .
Reverse Usage : Will sort on the basis of Bytes Transfered, during Browsing in ascending Order
Reverse Time : You will get Report on the basis of Time, ascending order.
 Results Per Page can be selected from 10, 25, 50, 100 & All. All means complete result will be shown in the
single page.
 Note : Depending on the IP / Web Site selected put appropriate entry in the Search field.
 Please Submit for getting the results.
If you type IP in the Search field then you will get the WebSites visited from that IP.
Also if you type WebSite it will result all the IPs visited to that WebSite.
From the Results by just clicking on IP/WebSite link, you will get search result for that IP/WebSite i.e. the
website/ip address, access time and bytes transfered.

Report : Internet : Browsing : Daily Report / Weekly Report / Monthly Report

Interpretation:

 Name: The log-on name with which internet access was authenticated
 Hours: The number of hours (hours:minutes) spent connected to the internet for this user ID. An quiet
period of more than 5:00 minutes counts as the end of a session.
 Sites: The number of individual web sites at which text/html pages were downloaded
 Pages: The number of distinct text/html pages downloaded at the sites which were visited.
 Size: The number of bytes (kilobytes / megabytes, etc) downloaded during the time period. This includes
both text, images and any other data

Reports : HTTP Proxy : Search Reports

 Gives the complete search reports of HTTP Browsing for specified time.
i.e. from date and to date on the selected criteria viz. User, IP, Site with sort options Size, Time within the
specified period in Ascending or Descending order.
 You can search on the basis of IP or Site or User. You can also search on any combination of these three, viz.
User-to-IP, User-to-Site or IP-to-Site.
 You can also define the number of results per page.
 The search result will display the Complete browsing details for that particular time period along with the
Total Data transfer size and total browsing time.

Reports : HTTP Proxy : Usage Reports

 Gives total summary reports of HTTP Browsing for specified time. i.e. fromdate and todate or if you select
last 'n' days then reports for last n days are shown on the selected criteria viz. Userwise, Ipwise, Sitewise
with usage options Size, Downloads, Time within the specified period in Ascending or Descending order.
 Total summary showing selected criteria will be shown on the top.
 Eg : If the criteria User is selected then the details will have users as clickable link, which on click will give a
very detailed summary reports of the clicked user.
 Similarly if the criteria is IP or Site then the clickable link will be IPs or sites respectively.

Reports : Internet : Connection

 Shows you the connection reports for the ADSL connection configured on the mail server.
 Number of days : Report will be generated for these many past days.
 ISP : Select the ISP. Choose All to generate for all the ISPs.
 Select Order : To get the report in ascending or descending order.
 NOTE: No reports will be generated if the ADSL is not configured.

Reports : Internet : Dialup

 Shows you the connection logs for the dial up internet connection configured in the Mail server.
 NOTE: These logs would be generated when you are using Dial-up connection

Reports : Internet : Proxy Mail Usage

 Gives the summary of each users Mail Sent Size, Mail Received Size, Proxy Downloads Size. Each User's Total
usage is the sum of all the 3 parameters.
 From the top search bar you can specify a From Date and To Date, to search for users usage report. Or if you
select last 'n' days then reports for last n days are shown.
 You can view from 2 to 500 results per page using the Results Per Page criteria.

Reports : Mail : Fetchmail

 This screen would give you the fetch mail report for each user.
 Depending on whether the mails were fetched successfully on the last attempt for the user, you
would see messages, error or failed status for each user.
Reports : Mail : Last checked

 Shows the status of the Last attempt, login status by a particular user id
 The Type of the account pop/imap is also displayed.
 The reports are displayed in the ascending order.

Reports : Maillog : Internet Report

 This screen shows the Top Sender by no. of mails, Top Sender by Mail Size, Top recipient by no of mails and
Top recipient by mail size for a time period selected using 'from date' and 'to date'.
 The report can also be viewed for the selected time period for the Top Senders and Recipients.
 You can also view the Summary Report and Detailed Search report by clicking on the specify link provided at
the top of the page.

Reports : Maillog : Summary Report

current date.

 Shows whether the backup was taken on Hard disk, Remote machine or tape drive

Reports : Chat Server

 Enter your query for searching jabber message logs


 Select jabber ids (to and from), the day,time to specify query.

 Two way search can be performed by checking 'vice-versa'.

 From JabberID :

 IDS shown are existing mailserv users.


 Select a user to specify your 'From JabberID' i.e.
the message sent by this user.

 Vice Versa :

 Check this for specifying two way 'Jabber Ids' selection for searching.
 i.e. message travelling from 'TO JabberID' to 'From JabberID' are also searched for.
 'TO JabberID' and 'From JabberID' both
act as 'TO JabberId' as well as 'From JabberID'.

 To JabberID :

 Specify 'To JabberID' by selecting one of the user.


 Logs are searched for the 'receiving jabberids' same as specified here.

 Date :

 Select a date for search


 Search query is constrained by the selected date.
 Select valid day for the month and year specified.

 Time :

 Select a valid range of time.


Starting time is less than ending time.
 Searching is done for the the time range specified.
 Select all time(00:00 to 23:59) by clicking all time.

 NOTE:

 Clicking on "Submit Query" shows search result in


"tabular format".
 Searched data can be downloaded by clicking
"Download searched logs" The search result can be exported(downloaded) to any application
supporting data in CSV format.

 This frontend Allows you to view the Firewall Logs based on the Option Selected.

Making policy in Advanced proxy, the steps are as below:

 Make a group of user for which you are going to make the policy. ( Accounts : Groups : Add Userwise)
 Make a web category first. The details for the same can be found in “Security : Advance Proxy : Policy : Add
Policy”
 Make a policy for the web category made by you. The details for the same can be found in “Security :
Advance Proxy : Policy : Add Policy”
 You can also add schedule for the policy made by you. The details for the same can be found in “Security :
Advance Proxy : Schedule : Add Schedule”

Security : Advance Proxy : Web Category : Add Web Category

 Web category: Web category is collection of websites, grouped together to form a suitable categories.

1. Category Name : Choose suitable name for the web categories.


2. Use only alphanumeric letters .
3. No other special characters other than
hyphen '-' and underscore '_' are allowed. e.g. news sites(wrong) news_sites(correct).
4. Description: Enter relevant description for the policy made by you.
 Site/URL String : The different way of selecting sites.
 Sites are selected with some criteria :
1. 'begins with' - URL / Site name starts with the string you enter below.
2. 'contains' - URL contains the string anywhere in it.
3. 'ends with' - URL ends with the string you have entered.
4. 'exactly' - URL Site name is exactly the string entered.
5. The '^' sign indicates URL beginning with and the '$' sign indicates URL ending with.
 String: You can either type full name / url of the site to be selected ,
or you can select a group of sites by specifying the sites having names starting
or ending with a string, or containing a string. Please enter only one string / word.
 Add/Remove Sites : String entered can be added or removed.
Strings gets added to list box in the way criteria is defined.
 NOTE: Changes will not take effect until you click on "Submit".

Security: Advance Proxy : Web category : Manage Web Category

 You can manage the web categories made by you using this screen
 Clicking on the delete option after selecting the policy will delete the concerned policy
 Clicking on the concerned policy will help you to edit that policy.

Security : Advance Proxy : Policy : Add Policy

 The web categories and groups will be seen in the Match ACLs list and don't match ACLs list.
 Policy is made for a group to allow or deny them the selected web categories at selected schedule.
 For eg.
 Consider you make a web category named 'block' containing few sites and want to allow group 'user1'
containing users u1,u2,u3,u4 and disallow group 'user2' containing user u3,u4,u5. Then you have to
select Action 'Allow', in Match ACLs list select 'block' and 'user1' and from Don't Match ACL you have to
select 'user2'. In this case the users u1 and u2 will be allowed the sites that are in block web category
and rest of the users u3,u4,u5 will not be allowed to access those sites.
 Don't make any conflicting policies.

Security : Advance Proxy : Policy : Manage Policy

 You can edit the policy made by you by clicking on the policy.
 Delete the policy made by you by clicking on the checkbox next to the policy and click on 'Delete'.
 Prioritizing the policies is possible by using the up and the down arrow.
 Changes will not take effect until you click on "Submit".

Security : Advance Proxy : Schedule : Add Schedule

 Different schedules can be added for use in proxy policies.

 Give different schedules with combination of time and days.


 Make schedules needed for your policies.

 Schedule Name:

 Give suitable name for your schedule.


 Use only alphanumeric letters .
 No other special characters other than
hyphen '-' and underscore '_' allowed.
e.g. morning hour(wrong) morning_hour(correct) .

 Description:

 Use this field for giving your detail


information about schedule you made.
 Only '|' character not allowed in this field.
 The entry is not compulsory but it is advisable
to enter for your future convenience.

 Time :

 Select a valid range of time.


Starting time is less than ending time.
 Select 'All Time' (00:00 to 24:00) by clicking all time.

 Days of Week:

 Select one or more than one days for which the schedule is made.
 At least one of the day should be selected.
 Use 'Select All' for selecting all days.
All days can be deselected by 'Select None'.

 NOTE: Changes will not take effect until you click on "Submit".

 This Frontend allows you to manage proxy schedule.

 For managing schedule,click on 'schedule name' shown above.


 For Delete a schedule,select that schedule and press 'Delete' button.

Security : Browsing : Allowed Users

 This function helps you to grant / revoke internet Browsing permission to a User.

 To assign permission you can either search for users or click on "Show All" to display all the users on this
MailServ.
 Look in: Choose whether you want to search the 'Login', 'Name' or 'Designation' data fields of the user.
 Criteria: Select the type of search.

 'contains' - Looks for the "Search String" anywhere in the user's data fields.
 'exact match' - Returns those IDs which exactly matches the "Search String".
 'begins with' - Returns those IDs which start with the entered "Search String".

 Search String: The keyword / text you want to search for.


 Clicking on "Go" by entering the text in the Search String or "Show All" will execute the search and provide
you the option to assign permissions in the next screen

Security : Browsing : List Of Allowed Users

 Enable or Disable the permission to the users as per the requirement.

 'Enable All' or 'Disable All' option will enable or disable the permissions for the users

 NOTE : Changes will not take effect until you click on "Submit".

 Permission for browsing by sites can be assigned in the following ways:

 This function is used to deny users access to certain websites.

 Site / URL: Select the criteria for denying access


 'begins with' - URL / Site name starts with the string you enter below.
 'contains' - URL contains the string anywhere in it.
 'ends with' - URL ends with the string you have entered.

 The '^' sign indicates URL beginning with and the '$' sign indicates URL ending with.
 String: You can either type full name / url of the site to be blocked, or you can block multiples sites by
specifying the sites having names starting or ending with a string, or containing a string. Please enter only
one string / word.
 NOTE: The proxy needs to be restarted for the changes to take effect.

 Modify a defined Service by Clicking on the Existing Service
 Delete a Service by selecting it by using the Checkbox before it and then by Clicking the Delete Network

 InternalLan, MailServ & ExternalWorld - Net Objects are system specific objects and cannot be modified or
deleted
 A Network Object is something that you want to Apply a Firewall Rule to. This could be your Network, a
Host, a Remote Network or a LAN / WAN inside/outside of your Firewall.
 Define New Network Objects using the Add Net Object Link.
 Modify Network Object by Clicking on it.
 Delete a Network Object by selecting it using the Checkbox before it and then by Clicking the Delete
Network Objects Button.

 Object ID : A Unique Name by which you will be identifying your Host, Network, Remote Host etc.
 Network Number : You need to specify Network/IP Address of the Object you are defining. For a Network
this would be the Base Network Address and for a Host it would be the Full IP Address of that Host.
 Netmask : The Network Mask of the Network Object. For a Host this would be 255.255.255.255 and for a
Network it is the Network Mask of that particular LAN / WAN.(example 255.255.255.0).

 Firewall Rules are a set of Rules that Allow or Deny IP packets based on the following information :
Where the Packet is coming from
Where the Packet is going to
What Service the Packet is trying to Access
 Add New Rules on the Defined Net Objects and Services using the Add a New Rule Link
 Modify a Defined Rule by Clicking on it.
 Delete a Defined Rule by selecting it using the Checkbox before it and then Clicking the Delete Firewall Rules
Button.
 Use the UP-Down Arrow Buttons to Change the Sequence in which the Firewall Rules are executed.

 Source Address : Select the Source Net Object ( Where the Packet is coming from)
 Service : Select the Service which will be used by the Net Objects.
 Destination Address : Select the Destination Net Object ( Where the Packet is going to)
 Action : The Action to be performed on the Traversing Packets
Accept : Will Allow the Packet to pass through
Deny : Will Drop the Packet and not allow it to pass through
 Log : Specify Here whether to Enable / Disable logging when the Rule is being Executed.
 Status :

 Enable : Will make a Rule Active when the Firewall is Started.

 Disable: Will keep a Rule but will not Activate it when the Firewall is Started.

 Enter the required information.
 ALL fields are COMPULSORY.
 Click 'Add' button to save the new entry.
 Click the message that you see to return to IP Aliases.

 Click the link to edit an interface.

 Click the link to delete an interface.

 Click the message that you see to return to IP Aliases.

Security : Natting : Manage Rules

 Enabled : This will allow you to enable or disable the rule.


 Protocol : This is a drop down field which allows you to select the protocol, TCP or UDP.
 Alias IP : Select an Alias IP from the list.
 Source NAT IP and Destination NAT IP are compulsory fields. Invalid IP addresses will not be accepted.
 Source Port and Destination port are optional fields. Destination port field is compulsory if the Source port is
provided.
 Firewall : This field specifies whether a firewall needs to be added.
 Source IP: This field is allows you to specify the external source address. It will be disabled if Firewall field is
specified as 'NO'.
 Gateway : It is a checkbox to specify whether the destination machine uses this firewall as the default
gateway.
 Remark : You can give any remark regarding the rule.
 NOTE: Changes will not take effect until you click on Submit.
