MAJOR CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS Brought to light the importance of LOTE classes needing to be assessed based upon standards to administrators and began taking steps to do so Upgraded the Cedar Hill High School language lab to be more accessible for students and teachers Helped students and other teachers see the need for assessments to be based upon what the student can do with the language as opposed to what they know about it Successfully outlined a new curriculum to be used in Cedar Hill, including all teachers as a part of the creation process Successfully implemented standards-based grading in my classroom, documenting for students what they can do with the language Been an advocate for foreign language education in a variety of scenarios, including with district and campus administration, teachers, parents, and students
