1 Installation
Caution:

Avoid placing the machine on or in locations which are unstable on not level.

Avoid locations with humidity or dust and dirt.

Avoid locations near radiators, heaters, or other heat sources, or locations near flammable
items, to avoid the danger of fire.

Avoid locations near a window or with exposure to direct sunlight.

Avoid locations with direct exposure to hot or cold air.

Avoid locations with vibrations.

Avoid locations with drastic temperature fluctuations.

Leave adequate space(as shown below), especially around the rear cover, to allow air to be
properly ventilated out of the printer.

Avoid poorly ventilated locations.

3 Powering up
3.1 Connecting the Network Cable
Following the steps as below for connecting the network cable

Remove the cap and connect the shielded network cable (not included) to the wall socket
or to the floor box.

Connect the other side of the network cable to the network interface connector at the rear
of this machine.

3.2 Connecting the Power Cord

Install the printer close to an AC wall outlet. If an extension cord is used, the total length oft he
power cord plus extension should be 5 meters or less. Ensure the printers power switch is off.
Only use the power cord supplied with the printer.

Connect the power cord to the Power Cord Connector

at the rear of the printer

Connect the other end oft he power cord to a power

outlet.

Press the Power Switch to On ( | ). The printer begins

to warm up.
Important!
If you install the starter toner container and switch on
the power, after a moment the message Please wait
(adding toner) is displayed. When the printer is first
swiched on after toner installation, there will be a delay
of approximately 15 minutes before the printer gets
ready to print. Once the [Ready] indicator lights, printer
installation is complete.

3.3 Printer Language

press [MENU]. The mode selection menu is displayed. (For example: Report Print)

3.4 Print Status Page

By printing the status page you can confirm that the setup has completed successfully. The most
important part is the Network Status there you can see the IP address of the printer if the
printer is connected properly, it displays the IP obtained from the DHCP server. If the IP adress set
to 169.254.0.1 through 169.254.255.254 with the subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. check the network
cabling, or try to connect the network cable to another available slot.
Press [MENU] and follow the following steps:
