Expectation and Yields

Strategies, discussions, debates, talks, activities, and other measures have been
taken by the ‘concerned parties’ on today’s youth. The major and yet to be
confused reason behind all these is the whys and the wherefores regarding such
act. Fogged by current accomplishments in overall academic performance of the
country where the overall passing rate for major examinations has been hiking for
the past few years along with the existence of ‘A collectors’ where it has become a
norm for a student to take 16 subjects and above yet strive in their examinations,
the public has missed out the essential component of a youth that we long for-the
integrity. Intelligence without integrity will just mould another individual with visions
but without morality taken into consideration. Such people are the reason why
unnecessary war, terrorism, massacres, genocides, deforestation and other
infamous doings manifests into mankind.

The Issues

Torn family relationships, rudeness in socializing, breached sex border, intake of

self-destructive chemicals, obscenities, outlandish outfit trends, and other upshots
brought about by development which is worldly oriented leaving holistic values
aside are the crisis that needs attention.

The Measures

Obviously the efforts made are well-known but are these steps really help resolving
the problem or the other way around? What about the effectiveness?

Youth Gathering Activities

What the folks say…

It’s okay to see that the youth are having a nice time, making friends, doing healthy
activities when such activities are organized. If it weren’t for this activity they might
be hanging out in the cybercafés, loitering or just hooked with their bikes at these
times.

What the organizer say…

We are concerned with nowadays youth. We are hoping that these generations are
well-prepared to serve their role in the future and I believe it is our duty to help in
preparing them in doing so.
What I have to say…

From my point of view, the sole purpose for the activities conducted deserve
compliment but perhaps due to some ‘values’ missing the target is not being
fulfilled. There, the youth freely smoke in public amongst themselves as if it is some
means of having new friends where through smoking new ‘smoking friends’ can be
made. Correct me if I am wrong but all religion are not supporting smoking as it
brings harm to the doers as well as people around them. Then how are we going to
solve the greater problem concerning the youth if such simple problem as smoking
is out of control? The steady flow of cigarettes in markets making the cigarettes
highly available for these youth to get their hands on it is a simple example bringing
greater message which for a success to be achieved effort need to be gathered
from all people. Next, rather than implementing the need for a controlled socializing
between them, the gathering ‘catalyzes ‘their interaction between opposite sexes.
Seeing couple grasping each other’s hand is unfortunately a common scene there.
In a few months or so there will be on the newspaper on such case where babies are
found dead in the rubbish dump, sewages, and bushes abandoned to their death
and yet we are still saying that today’s youth are in good hands. Basically from
knowing to loving, dating to sleeping, smoking to taking drugs, stealing to robbery
and other sorts of disastrous behavior seem to be making their way in today’s youth
and to make it even serious we are really lending them a hand by encouraging
them to ‘expand their horizon of wrongdoings available for commitment’. The
reason on such statement is due to current state where the negative can easily
influence the positive into turning to their opposite. The deduction that can be made
by linking the facts before is obvious for interpretation.

What needs to be done?

Trying to elaborate all the details is not worth of time as the number of youth
getting involved in this vicious plague is increasing as I type the details and it also
to save my own ass from having constipation due to prolonged seating…
