All Leaders within EJC are being invited to a special prayer meeting Wednesday August 13, 2014 at
the Kencot SDA church. The meeting is to be held 7:00pm to 8:30pm, as special prayers are made
for the guidance of the Conference.

Dear Brethren:
Re: Health Professional Summit - August 17, 2014 at EJC
Sincere Christian Greetings! Further to my letter of July 30, 2014, this serves to register my
appreciation to you for the warm response given to me, our representatives from the Adventist
Health Professionals, our Pastors, and the other persons who have visited your Church on Sabbath,
August 2, to promote the Health Summit at caption. In an effort to ensure that as many of our
members, including our health professionals, benefit from this very special and informative Health
Summit and to assist you in an effort to ensure that this happen, please see the following:

We are asking our health directors to:
a) Identify persons who will be attending and ask them to complete the registration form.
b) Use this information to complete the Attendees Master List and return it to the Health
Department personnel (Sis. Polly Mitchell-Wiggan or Elder Waldon WRIGHT) at the
Conference as quickly as possible before the date of the Summit. You may email, fax, or
submit the hard copy.
This will enable us to ensure that all the attendees are catered for in the professional manner that
they rightly deserve. See some important information on the summit below.
Sunday, August 17: Adventists Health Professionals' Summit, at East Jamaica Conference Office,
Kingston, starting at 9:30am.
Attendees: Adventist Health Professionals, Health Ministries Directors, and other health
conscious persons.
Topical areas: Wellness and Wholeness; Change the Game - The Effect of Stress on Cardiovascular
Disease; Health Care/Professional Leadership - The Power to Influence and Change;
and Health Behaviour Change.
Presenters: Doctors Carol Reid, Craig Jackson; Wycliffe Wright, and Columbus Batiste.
Reward: Continuing Education Union Certificate (CEU) Credits Available upon Request.
Registration Required: Contact EJC Health Ministries Department
Seminar Fee: $2,000.00 per attendee. (Fee covers lunch, materials and other related costs.) We are
recommending that each church sponsor at least two health professionals to attend the this
Summit on August 17, 2014.

ways of protecting our health and thereby fulfill the goal of John, the beloved disciple, for us:

(3) Notice from the Sabbath School, Personal Ministries & Comm. Services Dpt.

1. EJC Annual Community Fun Day and Ambassador Bring & Buy Sale - August 10, 2014, Zones
1 - 3 (Community Services Leaders are reminded to collect the tickets at the CS Dept. - EJC).
Proceeds from the fund day are in aid of the Community Youth Education Programme. We need
all your recyclable plastic bottles for the Ambassador Bottle Drive drop-off point, EJC office
on Thursdays.

2. We are inviting all our coordinators and presenters for the IAD Sabbath School Teacher
Training, to attend the next staff meeting on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 6 p.m. in the EJC
boardroom.

3. IAD/EJC SOE ADULT SABBATH SCHOOL TEACHERS CORPORATE CLASS
SESSIONS: Calling and reminding all Adult Sabbath School Teachers to attend the next
corporate class session, which will convene on Sunday August 17, 2014 at 9:00 a.m, at the Half
Way Tree SDA Church (for all Zones). The topic to be presented is Laws of Teaching and
Learning. Our Presenter will be Mrs. Sharon Smith-Whyte, Territorial Education Officer,

(4) Womens Ministries Department

1. Kindly note that the WMD will be out of office until August 18, 2014 because of the Belize
Children & Youth Mission Impact. Kindly direct all your requests to the Administrative
Assistant, Mrs. Sophia Dormer.
2. The children and youth missionaries to Corzol, Belize have completed the first week of their
crusade assignment. We solicit your prayers that many persons will give their hearts to Christ.

3. Hats off to Shortwood (Pastor McAnuff) and Grace Church (Pastor Fletcher) for responding
to the call and have sent in the Little is much when God is in it contribution to assist the
missionaries with their dormitory fee. We look forward to receiving same as some missionaries
will have to work at clearing their expenses when they return.
4. Fellowship, family and faithfulness to God is the reason we pause Our October 2014
retreat is for those who are interested in relaxation and rejuvenation of body, mind and soul.
Kindly call or visit the office to make your first retreat deposit. Your J$, US $ or credit cards will

1. CM team members kindly note that this department has taken on a broader scope and has
been renamed Children and Adolescents Ministries.

2. CMDs - Bible Spell-a-thon zone finals will be held in August. Kindly return the master
trophies to the office.

(6) Notice from the Family Life Department

1. Calling all trained personnel in counseling, mediation, HR from zones 1-4 to avail
themselves to assist with the team of counselors who will form part of the core for our
Family Ministries. Let us work while it is day. The night cometh when no man can work.

2. Kindly watch the press for date and time for the pre-marital counseling sessions that will
be held in your zone on a monthly basis. All persons interested in or who intend to enjoy a
manageable relationship are asked to plan to make us of these sessions.

3. BEAMS- All churches are being asked to select and send the names of 2 males (one below
age 16 and the other 17 and over to be trained as BEAMS President for your church as
well as zonal coordinators.

(8) Youth Ministries Department

1. BIBLE BOOM September 2014: Its almost time for the play-offs to begin and Bible Boom
promises to be more inspiring, interesting and fun. The Books to be studied are Hosea-
Micah. Every AYS must be on board as we want our youth to become men and women of
the WORD!!!

1. The Family Life Department of the Kencot Seventh-day Adventist Church has planned a
Thomson Caribbean Cruise that will depart from Montego-Bay on March 31, 2015 and return
April 7, 2015. Family members and friends are invited to this exciting cruise. Foremost in
planning was to find a cruise that would originate in Jamaica, so that church members and
other interested persons who are without a US visa would not be denied the privilege of
