I submit that Jangareddygudem Gram Panchayat was upgraded to Nagarpanchayat on 03.09.2011 as per G.O.Ms.No.394, M.A & U.D (Elec-1) Department. It is very densely populated important town in upland areas of the West Godavari District. In this town floating population is also very high. Since, it is a transit hub as all the goods and products produced in and around the town are being transported to various destinations in district and also to other districts. The town is growing due to economic activity in agriculture and allied activities. At present the town is having a population of 52391 as per census 2011 with an area of 20.56 Sq. Km and 20 political wards. At present the town is depending on Ground Water as Source for water supply with an average LPCD of 45 as against national standards of 135 LPCD. The existing system of water supply is having all limitations such as insufficient quantity (Pressures), unequal distribution, intermittent supply, chemical contamination such as presence of carbonates and by-carbonates; un-satisfactory taste at some locations etc., Further the expenditure on operation and maintenance is more than revenue. All the installations of the existing system are insufficient, age old and absolute. Public is facing a lot of inconvenience due to above mentioned water supply and there is a great demand for implementation of water supply scheme for the town with surface water as a source as per the norms. In view of the above a detailed project report was prepared with surface water as a source. Karatam Krishna Murthy Yerrakaluva Reservoir has been selected as source for drawl of raw water. The raw water will be treated in 9 MLD capacity filtration plant of and pumped to the Zonal Reservoirs (5 Nos) for onward distribution to the households. The scheme is designed to supply 135 LPCD of cleansing water to ultimate population of 94,000 (year 2044). The development of the town will boost if the water supply scheme is implemented and following are the other benefits.
1. Per-capita water supply will be increased to 135 LPCD from the Existing 45 LPCD with uniformity and timely supply. 2. Surface water source in place of Ground Water. 3. 6000 Nos new House Service Connections can be achieved. 4. Entire town for a prospective population of 74,800 by 2029 will be benefited with the scheme. 5. Enhancement in environmental conditions, social status, economic standards and overall living standards. The revised DPR has been prepared for Rs.77.47 crores and submitted to the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, New Delhi through Government of Andhra Pradesh after approval of Andhra Pradesh State Level Nodal Agency (APSLNA). This project was proposed in transition stage funds of UIDSSMT program under JnNURM. The Project was appraised technically by the CPHEEO, Government of India, New Delhi for Rs.58.79 Crores and recommended for approval. The Project has been returned by the Government of India to the state Government since transition stage funding has been not taken up by the Government of India. In view of the above, I request you to kindly recommend the proposed water supply scheme for Jangareddygudem town and requested the Govt. to allocate funds to the tune of Rs. 58.79 crores for implementation of scheme.
Thanking you Sir,
Yours Faithfully,
