CIPET is an ISO 9001:2008 QMS, NABL, ISO/IEC 17020 accredited premier national Institution
devoted to Academic, Technology Support & Research (ATR) activities for the growth of Plastics &
allied industries in the country. CIPET operates on hub & spokes model with 22 locations spread across
the length & breadth of the country. CIPET has 15 centres at Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Aurangabad, Bhopal,
Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Hajipur, Haldia, Jaipur, Imphal, Lucknow, Mysore and
Panipat. All the CIPET centres have state of art infrastructural facilities in the areas of Design,
CAD/CAM/CAE, Tooling & Mould Manufacturing, Plastics processing, Testing and Quality control to
cater to the needs of plastics & allied industries in the country.
Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET) is an autonomous institute under the
department of chemicals and petrochemicals, ministry of chemicals and fertilizers, Govt. of India. CIPET
Headquarters was established at Madras in 1968 with UNDP assistance. This is the only institute of its
kind in where all facilities like design, tooling, processing and testing of plastics are available under one
roof. CIPET caters to the need of plastic industries through manpower training, processing, design and
CAD/CAM, testing consultancy, advisory and development services.
The centre of CIPET has been equipped with state of the art of machinery in the are of mould/product
design and development, CAD, plastics processing and testing/quality control. Apart developing
manpower and technical services of plastic industries, specializes in applications development in the field
of automobile and teletronics.
CIPET tool room at Lucknow has excellent CNC milling facilities for taking up commercial job
assignment for mould fabrication, high precision machining and manufacturing of standard mould basis.
