Music Pedagogy
Scope Note
For anyone who has studied music the transition from student to teacher can be
especially rewarding. It can also be difficult and confusing. Just knowing and understanding
music is not enough to be able to impart that knowledge on someone else. The art of teaching
(called pedagogy) for music is especially difficult because there are several very different facets,
all of which are equally important. These facets include technique, theory, history, and
performance. This pathfinder focuses on different sources for music pedagogy in general to
help the up and coming music teacher start on his/her new career.
