I wanted to check-in and see if you have any ability to help Congresswoman Michele Bachmann this quarter..

As you know Michele won a very hard fought re-election campaign in 2008 and the DCCC is already targeting her
again with the recently launched website "Bachmann Watch" (see Politico article below: Democrats go on
Bachmann watch) and as you can see in the article below (The Tip of the Tinklenburgh), her 2008 opponent may be
back for more.

Please let me know if you can join Michele for any of these events.

Democrats go on Bachmann watchBy: Martin Kady II

Democrats just can't get enough of Rep. Michele Bachmann, the always controversial, always quotable Minnesota
Republican.

In fact, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has built a website devoted entirely to Bachmann's
rhetoric, slamming what they believe are overstatements or exaggerations about everything from ACORN to the
stimulus.

"The same woman who once said Congress should be investigated for those with anti-American leanings and once
argued that she couldn't support the economic recovery act because America was 'running out of rich people,'" the
site blares.

But if the DCCC couldn't knock off Bachmann in the wildly successful Democratic congressional campaign of
2008, it may have a tough time in 2010.

Bachmann's office seems more amused than upset about the attention.

"When you can't defend your policies and you're so far out of touch with the American people, I guess there's
nothing more you can do than nitpick your opposition," said Bachmann spokesman Dave Dziok.

MINNESOTA 06 (R/ST. CLOUD -- BACHMANN)
The Tip Of The Tinklenberg
Monday, April 20, 2009

"At the top of the list of possible contenders for" '10 is '06 candidate/'08 nominee Elwyn Tinklenberg (D), who is
"all but declaring himself a candidate." Tinklenberg "says he will make the call by J uly." Tinklenberg: "I continue to
be concerned about many of the things that Rep. [Michele] Bachmann [R] is saying and espousing, and kind of the
approach she has taken on so many of the issues. I think people in the Sixth District are the real losers in all of this,
and I think that's unfortunate."

Tinklenberg "has been courting" the DCCC and nat'l labor unions, and "has also kept his name in the mix by doling
out contributions to other" Dems and "sponsoring" the DFL's Hubert H. Humphrey Day dinner. But "not everyone is
enthusiastic about the prospect of another shot for" Tinklenberg. "Most notably, political observers question why
Tinklenberg ended" his '06 bid "with nearly" $500K "still sitting in the bank." A veteran DFL insider: "They ran a
piss-poor campaign."

The "leftover war chest would have at least given" him "a head start on the money hunt for" '10, but "most of it's
since been spent." In Mar., the campaign cut two" $125K checks to the DCCC. "At the end of March, Tinklenberg's
campaign coffers were down to roughly" $180k.

Another possible contender is state Sen. Tarryl Clark (D). Clark "is seen as a rising star in DFL circles, and is
mentioned as a potential GOV candidate. But "with a bloated crop of Dems eyeing that race, "Clark may find" a race
against Bachmann "more exciting."

The DCCC "maintains that whoever ultimately emerges as the party's candidate, it's eager to wage a vigorous
campaign against Bachmann." DCCC Midwest Regional Press Sec. Gabby Adler: "Instead of addressing the needs
of the people she represents, the Congresswoman focuses her efforts on promoting far right-wing ideology and
pursuing extremist rhetoric." Rothenberg Political Report political ed. Nathan Gonzales: "It's way too early to know
what seats the DCCC will target. But they will be forced to focus a lot more on defending their own seats this cycle,
rather than knocking off Republican incumbents" (Demko, Minnesota Independent, 4/17).
