of Foreign Affairs under the
development cooperation budget.
The scholarships allow candidates to
pursue Master studies, PhD studies,
or short courses at Dutch Universities

54. The Swedish
Institute
Study
Scholarships

The scholarship covers both the
tuition fee (which is paid directly to
the Swedish university/university
college by the Swedish Institute)
and living expenses to the amount
of SEK 9,000 per month.
The scholarship is only awarded for
programmes starting in the
autumn semester
(August/September) and is granted
for one academic year, i.e. for two
semesters at a time. It will be
extended for programmes longer
than two semesters provided that
the student's study results are
satisfactory.
The scholarship is designed to
cover living costs and study
expenses for the scholarship
holder. There are no grants for
family members. The granted
scholarship period cannot be
altered or extended beyond the
study programme period nor can
the scholarship be transferred to
another study programme at a
Swedish university.
Travel grants
The scholarships are only intended for students who
are required to pay tuition fees according to the
information at University Admissions.
There is no age limit for scholarship holders.
The Swedish Institute is looking for applicants who
display both intellectual ability and leadership
potential and welcome applications regardless of age,
gender and religious beliefs. The scholarship
programme aims for diversity amongst the scholarship
holders. Due to the large number of applications,
applicants from countries with a high number of
applicants per seat will be evaluated most thoroughly
by selecting the best applications to a second
evaluation round.

A scholarship cannot be granted for a student who:
Has already lived in Sweden for two years or
more previous to the scholarship period.
Has Swedish or EU/EEA-citizenship, a
permanent residence permit or a work permit
in Sweden. (Not applicable for students from
Syria.)
Has previously been awarded a Swedish
Institute scholarship for masters level studies
or research at a Swedish university/university
college.

- Harran Scholarship is intended
to be utilised by citizens of
Bangladesh, Palestine, Iraq,

- All undergraduate programs
other than Medical Sciences,
Islamic Studies and Turkish
Language and Literature are
offered in this scholarship
program.

- The Trkiye Scholarships

Candidates applying to Harran Undergraduate
Scholarship shall meet the following requirements:

candidates for each program and scholarship level.

Ali Kuu Science and
Technology Graduate
Scholarship is designed for
students who are willing to study
at the fields of science,

This program provides

Ali Kuu Science and
Technology Graduate
Scholarship program is available
for non-Turkish nationals from
all countries.

The Trkiye Scholarships
provide the students studying in

CICOPS at
University of
Pavia
The Scholarships are dedicated
to professors and researchers
from developing countries who
wish to carry out research with a
professor at the University of
Pavia. Applicants must have the
support and then contact a
collaborator with which to carry
out joint research at the
University of Pavia.
Scholarships are designed for both junior and senior
members of Universities in developing countries or
members of major research centers and international
organizations or institution with specific interest in the
field of development studies.

Applicants must have at least two years of either
teaching experience or activity in international
organizations and institutions.
CICOPS scholarships arc foreseen for research
collaboration in the short period in order to encourage
the mobility or researchers from developing countries.
Applicants enrolled in Doctoral or Postgraduate Course
at an Italian University are not eligible to apply.
Each scholar will be asked to be available for contacts
with staff and students.

(IRO)

As one of its contributions to
development cooperation, KU
Leuven offers each academic
year scholarships to deserving
students from developing
countries to do their PhD in the
largest university of Flanders,
Belgium. The programme is
organized and managed by the
Interfaculty Council for
Development Cooperation.

The IRO Doctoral Scholarship
Programme has supported more
than a hundred PhD graduates
over the past ten years. After
obtaining their doctorates at KU
Leuven, these PhD holders are
now valorizing their degrees in
their home countries either in
university academic research or
in various sectors of industry.

1. The applicant must be a citizen of one of the countries
on the OECD DAC table that are listed under the
following categories: Least Developed Countries, Low
Income Countries or Low Middle Income

This four-year scholarship
comprises two years of PhD
studies at an A*STAR Research
Institute and another two years
at a select top overseas university
to enrich students academic
experience. Under this PhD
research training, students will be

Institute. Successful students will
be conferred a PhD degree by the
