Civil engineering
Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with
the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally
built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and
buildings. Civil engineering is the second-oldest engineering discipline
after military engineering, and it is defined to distinguish non-military
engineering from military engineering It is traditionally broken into several
sub-disciplines including architectural engineering, environmental
engineering, geotechnical engineering, geophysics, geodesy, control
engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, earth
science, atmospheric sciences, forensic engineering, municipal or urban
engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, offshore
engineering, quantity surveying, coastal engineering, surveying, and
construction engineering. Civil engineering takes place in the public sector
from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector
from individual homeowners through to international companies.
Justification
The reason being an engineer is the ability to purchase in formative years,
acquired skills in mathematics, which allows you to open your mind and
be able to solve any problem you have and I mean not only level
employment or academic. As an engineer you can develop in many fields,
such as planting, management and execution of all civil works, buildings,
aqueducts, roads, housing solutions, large-scale hydraulic works, the study
and knowledge of soil among other things
Objctives
The job of a civil engineer begins to be noted a particular need (a new
dock in a port, expansion or construction of a road, a dam that continuity
and stability to the flow of a river ...). At this stage of planning, civil
engineers work in an integrated manner with other professionals and
national or local authorities with powers of decision.
Then enters the job of collecting the data necessary to design a solution to
this need, data may be topographic (measuring actual ground surface),
hydrological ( rainfall in a basin , flow of a river, etc.). , statistical appraisals
of existing roads or streets, population densities), and so on.
