I am currently in a dilemma. I recently found that if I add 3 minutes to my original birth time, the position of all the planets in the horoscope changes. Based on some quick searches, I find myself relating to both my normal and changed horoscopes.
The problem is that I am wearing a couple of rings (gems) that might be beneficial if my horoscope is correct but not if it's off by those three minutes.
Can anyone help me with getting my correct birth date and horoscope by looking at my life's events or something else ?

Tue, May 16, 2006 - 6:39 PM there is a yogi from india, Yogi Karve, he sometimes comes to america. he and his son have the siddhi to tell you your exact birth time. i have sat in on many of his readings, and each time when he tells the person all the planets in their chart, birth date, day of the week, year and then time, it is absolutely amazing. he is mentioned in kn raos book on saints. mavis join to post Amrta Amrta offline225 Re: Vedic Astology reading... Wed, May 17, 2006 - 10:10 AM the thing that can be troubling about using some of the internet sites that exist is one cannot be sure what ayanamsha is being used or that the correct longitude and latitude points are used and so the data that comes back is bad.
and then the person that needs to have their birth chart rectified (from the other thread) falls into this category too where relying on a static medium, a computer program is not the same as interacting with a person learned in Jyotish, and so then bad information is imparted.
I went to this paramdhaam site and entered some info and it was close but off enough to alter the outcomes. so be careful of information gotten from online, it is not always accurate and could further confuse the issue.

Sun, May 21, 2006 - 9:47 PM Thanks for all replies. I tried looking at the D9 lagna and also tried the paramdhaam website. Since I'm a beginner to astrology, it just confused me more by reading all of that.
Here is my supposed birth date/time: Dec 21st 1974, 5:36 AM (Jorhat, India).
The chart changes if my birth time would be 3 mins more (5:39 AM).
Looking at the paramdhaam website and the difference in interpretations, both were very similar and I couldn't tell.
Can someone take a look and suggest any obvious major difference ? Especially like - is Ketu good or bad for me in either case ?
Here is some data from my life: During vimshottari pratyanter dasha of Ketu, I went through a divorce. During smaller Ketu dashas, similar bad things - once a major surgery and once I lost my job. All three things did turn out to be for my good though - in the long run. These symptoms for these problems existed before Ketu started but things really did happen during Ketu. So not sure if Ketu is good or bad for me.
Other info is: I've been wearing a yellow sapphire (for Jupiter) and pearl (for moon) for sometime - both of which I think have been good for me. A few months back. someone asked me to wear a "Red Maanik" (for Sun) to make me more extrovert. It hasn't helped in that direction, which is one of the reasons for my concerns on the birth date. join to post Aaron Aaron offline2 Pick a lagna, any lagna... Sun, May 21, 2006 - 11:54 PM My two cents: Since you went through a divorce during Ketu period, that suggests Scorpio ascendant. I don't know about surgery, but unemployment seems to be a characteristic of Ketu periods and subperiods in general (this has been my personal experience and that of a close friend).
I think that if you have Sagittarious lagna, you would be involved with performance arts/ broadcasting OR politics in some capacity. With Sagittarius Ascendant, you would also have extremely painful relationships if you had any at all, since the 7th house contains Saturn and the 7th lord would be combust. With Scorpio ascendant you would move around a lot because of the dark moon in the 4th and you would have negative 8th house effects because of Saturn and the combustion of the 8th lord (possible effects: accidents, bad psychic experiences or nightmares, bad luck with insurance and inheritances, little sex appeal). join to post kalikat kalikat offline143 Re: Pick a lagna, any lagna... Mon, May 22, 2006 - 11:53 AM Namava Shivaya A couple things: With the sag lagna the mars/rahu conjunction is in the 12H, and with the scorpio lagna it moves them to the 1H - lord of the 1H in the 1H with rahu. mars and rahu together usually indicate exploding anger - I would think that it would be a noticeable difference to have mars/rahu in the lagna vs. the 12H. Which would you say describes you more?
Also, when you push the lagna back the navamsa changes. With the rasi lagna in Sag the navamsa lagna is Aries, with saturn in the 1H and the 1L Mars with rahu in the 8H . Also it puts ketu with the 6L of this chart which may correlate with difficulties during ketu periods.
With the Scorpio lagna you have pisces ruling the navamsa with 1L benefic Ju in the 1H (do you count MPRY in the vargas?), , and Ve and Me in the 7H.The scorpio rasi chart appears to have easier relationship karma - although with the scorpio rasi it puts ketu in the 7H, which could defiinitely create "liberation" from a relationship during its period. join to post Sada... Maha purusha raja Yogas? yes,.. yogas and associations work in the vargas -- exchanges, all of it.
Well, i don't know enough about Abhishek to say one way or the other, but here are afew thoughts.
Applying the ayanamsha i use, (26:40 @ 3/20/2228) one only has to advance the birth time 1 minute to produce dhanu lagna in the rasi -- this makes Aries lagna in the D-9 --
In this Case, ketu's lord and varga lord, Mars is in the 8th Vargottama and with Rahu,, so the D9 swamsa (lord of the chart) is already under duress and individualistic, eccentric, etc -- yet powerful, introspective - using ketu as co-lord of Scorpio this becomes more dramatic in Ketu periods (although in this chart mars would be the Lord of Scorpio, falling in the rasi itself) -- ketu is also joined the lord of the lagna pada and 7th house pada (Mercury, both padas fall in Gemini) -
** BTW pada is just another name for "Arudha" -- pada means foot, the foot is what is on the earth, thus the pada shows the actual results and the tangible path to them. So i use the term pada.. although it does not sound as cool as saying "ketu, co-lord of the randra bhava is in a maraka sthana with the Arudha lagna and kalatra pada in the sahaja bhava",.. the sanskrit gets a little hard to follow. (Translation: Ketu, co-lord of the 8th is in the 2nd, a death producer, with the lords of the 1st and 7th padas in the 3rd)
Ketu joined this dual pada lord will powerfully actvate the karma in his periods -- So, with both padas in the third and in Gemini - there could ahve been other interests that suddenly popped up at that time (ketu period) a desire to experiment and be more playful, perhaps even with other partners,, a lack of seriousness and commitiment, the awareness of communication problems,, etc. This 1/7 pada also holds the Moon in it,, a fickle planet -- when you see both padas in the same rasi in the varga pay close attention.. it is make or break time -- and the indications of that varga will be joined there and may hange suddenly.
In rasi dasas Ketu is a very important and activating planet -- Chara dasa especially -- I have not looked at Chara dasa here though
Mercury is a wicked house lord for Aries - ruling the 3rd and 6th hosue -- 3rd is lord of the 8th from the 8th (bringing sudden changes) and the 6th house is the house of divorce and insurmountable obstacles -- ketu offers little in the way of relationships in this D-9
With the Pisces lagna - Jupiter in the first would bring optimisma dn hope in relationship -- Aries lagna with Mars and Rahu in 8th and tere would be isolation, frustration and withdrawal in relationships. So, which is it?
Also ketu falls in the dhana sthana (money plae) in the navamsa showing losing money through relationships and he is joined Saturn..
In the rasi, using dhanu lagna - ketu would be in the 6th with his lord and 6th lord, venus in the lagna, joined the 7th lord and the 9th lord (marriage involves the 9th house, hence D 9) -- ketu is also the Nakshatra lord of the 7th lord in the Dhanu Chart -- Since the nodes do not rules rasis (exepting co-lordship of Scorpio ans aquarius at times) what they rules by nakshatra becomes very important ..
in this Rasi Chart, Scorpio is ruled by mars and he is in the Sign
One more thing about Ketu -- it is his job to help us finish karma - it is he who really liberates us from things -- His job is to take things from us - so even the things we get in ketu periods will many times be lost very quikly, because we GET it in order to FINISH it.
ketu periods usually see things happening very suddenly and out of theblue - lke Mars but unseen and feeling out of control.. This haapens, then it is lost and something else happens.. back and forth..
At that time we are getting things in order to finish them and losing things we did not need ..
it an be very liberating to a non-attached being, but losing things rarely feels good at the time, and having our life feeling out of control is rarely comforting either.
