GENERAL RULES FOR SETTING A
GOOD MUHURTHA
Posted on August 1, 2013 by sreenivasdesabhatla
GENERAL RULES FOR FIXING A GOOD MUHURTHA

1. Setting a favorable star (Taara bala):
Count from the birth star of a person to the star where Moon is located at the time of the
Muhurtha and divide the number by 9, if divisible. The remainder represents the
following:
1 Janma represents danger to body.
2 Sampath indicates wealth and prosperity.
3 Vipath dangers and losses and accidents.
4 Kshema prosperity.
5 Pratyak obstacles and enmity.
6 Sadhana realization of ambitions through effort.
7 Naidhan dangers and death.
8 Mitra friendly and good.
9 Parama Mitra Very favorable.
From the above list, the favorable numbers are 2, 4, 6, 8 and 9. For example, if a persons
birth star is Bharani. The person wants to join the new job on a day when the star is
Visakha. Counting from Bharani to Visakha, we get the number 15. Divide this number by
9 and the remainder will be 6. This number represents Sadhana which is favorable. Hence
the person can join the new job on that day.

2. Setting a favorable sign (Chandra bala):
In the Muhurtha chart, the Moon should not occupy the 6th, 8th or 12th house from the
persons birth sign. For example, the persons birth star is Bharani which falls in Aries sign.
The person wants to start a new business on a day when the star is Visakha 4th quarter.
This part of the star falls in the sign Scorpio. Counting from the birth sign Aries to the
Muhurtha sign Scorpio, we get 8th. This is inauspicious and hence that Muhurtha should
be avoided by the person.

3. Eliminating five types of bad energies (Panchaka rahitha):
In general Muhurthas where the person wants to join a job or attending an interview or
going on a short journey, setting good Taara bala and Chanra bala is sufficient. But for
important ceremonies like thread ceremony, marriage, nuptials, entry into a new house,
etc, we should eliminate bad energies from the Muhurtha which is called Panchaka
rahita. Count the number of lunar day (thithi), the number of the week day (1st is
Sunday), the number of the constellation (1st is Aswini) and the number of the Ascendant
(1st is Aries) of the Muhurtha. Add them together and divide the total by 9. See what the
remainder represents:

1 Mrityu Panchka danger to life.
2 Agni Panchaka risk from fire.
4 Raja Panchaka risk from Government.
6 Chora Panchaka threat from thieves.
8 Roga Panchaka diseases.
So, the above numbers should be eliminated. If the remainder is 0, 3, 5 or 7 then it is good.
For example, if a person wants to start a new business on a day and time when the lunar
day is 13th (Triyodasi), the constellation is Pubba, the rising sign is Leo, and the weekday is
Monday. Calculating Panchaka, we get:
Number of lunar day: 13
Number of constellation: 11
Number of week day: 2
Number of Ascendant: 5
Total: 31
Now dividing this number 31 by 9, we get 4 as remainder. This number 4 represents Raja
Now dividing this number 31 by 9, we get 4 as remainder. This number 4 represents Raja
Panchakam and hence the person will face a lot of troubles from the Government, Police,
Taxes and Legal departments. Hence that Muhurtha is not auspicious for the person.
Other important yogas to be considered

4. Panchanga Suddhi:
Panchanga represents the five parts namely thithi (the lunar day), vaara (the week day),
nakshatra (the constellation), yoga (the combination of Sun and Moon), karana (half of
lunar day). These five parts should be good for any auspicious Muhurtha. This is called
Panchanga Suddhi. In regard to lunar days, the 4th, 6th, 8th, 12th and 14th and full moon
day and new moon day should be avoided. In regard to week days, Thursday and Friday
are good for all works. It is better to avoid Tuesday and Saturday in most of the Muhurtas.
In regard to the constellation, Bharani, Krittika and Aslesha should be avoided for all
works. Auspicious constellations for any work are: Aswini, Rohini, Mrigasira, Pushyami
(except for marriage), Makha, Uttara, Hasta, Chitta, Swathi, Anuradha, Moola,
Uttarashadha, Dhanishta, Sravanam, Uttarabhadra and Revathi. Coming to yogas, out of 27
yogas the following should be avoided: Vishkambha, Vyaghatha, Parigha, Vyathipatha,
Vydhriti, Ganda, Atiganda and Soola. In the available 11 karanas, we should avoid Bhadra
and Nagavam.

5. Surya sankramana:
Once in a month, the Sun changes his sign and enters a new sign. A period of 6 hours and
24 minutes should be avoided before and after Suns entry into a new sign.

6. Karthari dosha:
The Ascendant in the Muhurtha chart should not be hemmed between malefic planets.
7. Shashtashta Riphagatha Chandra dosha:
In the Muhurtha chart, the Moons position from the Ascendant should not be at 6th, 8th
and 12th houses.
8. Udayasta Suddhi:
The Ascendant and the seventh should be strong. For example, the Ascendant should be
occupied by the lord of the Ascendant or the lord of the Ascendant should be exalted. In
the same way, the seventh house should also be strong. It is very good if the Ascendant is
occupied by Jupiter, Venus and Mercury.
9. Ashtama Lagna dosha:
The Ascendant in the Muhurtha chart should not be 8th from the Ascendants of both the
bride and bridegroom. For example, the bride and bridegrooms Ascendants are Aries and
Leo, the Muhurtha Ascendant should not be Scorpio or Pisces.
10. Grahanotpatha dosha:
The constellations in which the eclipses appear should be avoided in muhurtas.
11. Ashtama suddhi:
No planet should be located in the 8th house from the Ascendant of Muhurtha chart.

12. Consideration of appropriate houses:
For all Muhurthas, the Ascendant and its lord should be good. To set a good Muhurtha for
construction of a house or for house warming ceremony, we should see that the 4th house
and its lord should be good. There should not be any malefics in 4th house and its lord
should be with benefics or in his own house or exaltation. Similarly, to set a good
Muhurtha for marriage, the 7th house and its lord should be good. To set a good
Muhurtha for starting a new business, the 7th house and 11th houses and corresponding
planets should be good.

NB:- According to Sage Bharadwaja, a fully flawless Muhurtha cannot be seen for years
together. We should wait for such a Muhurtha for years together and hence it is advised to
fix up a Muhurtha with less doshas (bad) and more gunas (good).

WHAT IS BRAHMA MUHURTHAM
Posted on August 1, 2013 by sreenivasdesabhatla
We usually be hearing to getup at Brahma Muhurtham and do Yoga and Meditation for
enjoying the Day ahead with Peace and Fullfilment. Any auspicious function done during
Brahma Muhurtham will be successful. But What is the Brahma Muhurtham ?
Muhrta :

) is a Hindu Unit of Measurement for time in the Hindu Calender , rather

Vedic Calender . A Muhurta equals approximately 48 minutes or two Ghadiyas or
Ghatikas.
It is stated in Manusmiti that 18 nimeas (twinklings of the eye) are 1 Kh, 30 Khs
are 1 Kla, 30 Klas are one Muhrta, and 30(Muhrtas) are one day and night.
Muhrtam
The Muhrtas are traditionally calculated by assuming Sunrise at 06:00 am on the Vernal
Equinox, which is the Vedic New Year. Not all of the constellations cross the zenith, so that
it is not in every case clear which constellation presides over the Muhrta. Yet it is clear
that one or more prominent features of the correlate constellations, from which the
Muhrtas draw their respective names, falls within the Celestial Longitude of the same,
drawn from the Polar Axis.

The Time given is Local Mean Time of the Place when the Sunrise and the Sunset are
6:00AM and 6:00PM
If the Sun Rise and Sun Set differs the corrections may be made accordingly.
Significance
Traditionally, it is common practice amongst Hindus to start or avoid starting significant
tasks like religious ceremonies, etc. on the basis of the quality of a particular Muhrta.
The Vedic Scriptures also generally recommend one or more Muhrtas to perform rituals
and practices. The most widely known example of this practice:
Brahma Muhurtham approximately one and a half hours before sunrise or more precisely
is 1Hr 36 Mins. i.e. 96 Minutes = 2 Muhrta or 4 Ghak, is recommended in all practices of
Yoga, and is traditionally considered most apt for Meditation. However, it is clear from
the associations of the names with specific constellations that the present Brahma-
Muhrta starts just before 6:00AM during the Vernal Equinox. At present, Jva-Amta and
Vihu comprise the two twilight muhrtas prior to sunrise.

VASTU PRINCIPLES FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF STAIRCASES
Posted on July 29, 2013 by sreenivasdesabhatla
VASTU FOR STAIRS
1. It is believed that if the staircase of the house is made as per vaastu principles, it brings in a lot of
success in the life of the members of the house.
2. Vaastu lays downs the following principles if you plan to have a stair case inside the house:
3. Staircase should always be constructed keeping in mind the orientation of the house and proper
direction with no mistakes/discrepancies in risers.
4. As per Vaastu, staircases should always be in the south corner of the house but never in the north-
east. North-west and South-East corners are acceptable.
5. Spiral staircases though look appealing should be avoided at all costs as it can usher in a lot of
problems.
6. If the master bedroom is on the ground floor, stairs should ascend clockwise, in case it is on the other
floor the staircase should descend clockwise.
7. Stairs should neither be too high or too steep as in both the cases positive energy is drained out of the
house.
8. Staircase just outside the main door of the room keeps good luck away from the inmates of the house.
Also, direct stairs outside the room can make a home more prone to accidents.
9. When designing the layout of the house, one should ensure that there is no kitchen or rest room
(bathroom) just below the stairs. A kitchen or restroom just below the stairs brings in a lot of health
problems for everyone in the house.
10. These are just some of the suggestions that can go a long way in securing prosperity, success and
happiness for everyone in the house. Hence, it becomes imperative that before thinking of building a
staircase for your new home, you keep in mind these few suggestions.
11. Direction:
1.
2. A staircase must always be built in the western or southern part of the house. It should not be
constructed in the north-east corner, as it is believed that a staircase here can lead to financial losses.
In fact, a staircase in any corner except the western or southern corner is believed to lead to losses
3.
12. Some basic principles:
1.
2. An external staircase can be built in the south-east facing the east, south-west facing the west,
northwest facing the north, and southwest facing the south.
3. The stairs should always start from the north and go towards the south, or from the east to the west.
A turn can also be made to other sides in case of space shortage.
14. The stairs must always be an odd number and the number must never end with a zero.
15. A spiral staircase is not advisable as it is believed to cause bad health. Also, a staircase encircling
the building should be avoided as it is believed to lead to calamites.
16. The room having a staircase in the southwest corner of a basement is not auspicious.
17. It is advisable to have doors at the end and beginning of a staircase.
18. The stairs should not touch the northern or eastern walls. 19. A staircase should not be visible to
visitors.
20. Broken stairs must be repaired immediately.
21. A Bathroom, Kitchen or puja room should never be built under a staircase. This area can only be
used as a storage space.

WHAT ARE THE VASTU GUIDELINES FOR THE
MAIN GATE ?
Posted on July 29, 2013 by sreenivasdesabhatla
THE VASTU GUIDELINES FOR THE MAIN GATE
1. Compound Wall should be higher and thicker in the South and West sides : The Compound
walls on the North and East sides should be a foot (12 inches) shorter than on the West and South
sides. If this is not possible, then the North and East sides should be a minimum of (3 inches)
shorter.
2. Compound Wall should be two-thirds the height of the main door:
1. 3. Two gates are preferrable: The Reasoning - It makes sense to have a big gate for the car to
enter and a smaller gate which is easier to handle near the entrance.
2. 4. Avoid gates in the extreme corners: The Reasoning - It is inconvenient to open and close a
gate that is fixed to the corners of the wall.
3. 5. Main gate and the entrance door should face the same direction:
4. 6. Avoid a gate in the South side: The Reasoning - The South is not considered auspicious for
an entrance, but obviously if your Site is a South facing one, the gate has to be in the South side.
5. 7. Gates should open clockwise: The Reasoning - Since the majority of the population is right-
handed, it is easier to push open a door or gate in the clockwise direction
8. Begin Compound Wall construction in South-East: Construction should begin on an auspicious
day.
9. Northern part of Compound Wall to be built last :
10. Compound Wall should not be higher than the House
11. If the main entrance of the compound wall is on the east and the north sides it definitely
leads to prosperity and fame.
12. The compound walls with gates on the north and the west sides bring only wealth. It has
also been seen that they increase anindividual`s interest in the spiritual aspects.
13. A northern gate symbolizes material comforts.
14. According to Vastu Shastra if the gate is in the west side of the wall then there will be a
considerable profit in business.
15. Remember to avoid the south side completely. Under no conditions should the gate be built
on this side. It leads to hazards and difficulties.

In Greek mythology Venus is Aphrodite, the goddess of love, from whose name comes the word
aphrodisiac, that which induces desire. From Venus name comes the word venereal, which literally
means of lust.
Venus is feminine and rules our world of love and all desires. Through it we experience joy, rapture,
lust, and the nature of our sexuality. Venusian types are generally wonderful lovers, but they are also
lovers of beauty, art, music, and food. Venus rules sensuality and earthly pleasures as discovered
through the senses of touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound, as exemplified through its feminine sign of
Taurus. In this sense it is the opposite principle to Mercury, as our physical appetites are a response to
need and want rather than part of an analytic process. Venus masculine sign is Libra, the sign of
relating and partnership. Venus rules pairing, meetings, engagements, weddings, and unions of all
kinds. It can also speak of those we love outside of a romantic relationship, such as close friends or
family members. It especially rules women, as indicated by the glyph, which is the universal symbol for
womankind. In a mans chart it can show the type of woman to whom he is attracted.
As the Lesser Benefic, Venus rules beauty, and its physical attributes are good looks, prettiness, dimples,
softness, roundness, and a tendency to put on weight. It also rules beautifying, such as make-up,
perfume, jewelry, and all adornments.
In personality it indicates a loving and affectionate nature, someone who is peaceable, sociable, and
sometimes lazy. Venus rules amusement and enjoyment.
Like Mercury it is to be found between the Earth and the Sun. It is never further away from the Sun
than 46 degrees so, in the horoscope, it is always either in the same sign as the Sun or in one of the two
preceding.

RULES FOR CANCELLATION OF KUJA DOSHAM
Posted on July 4, 2013 by sreenivasdesabhatla

KUJA DOSHAM OR MANGALIC DOSHA CANCELLATION
Marriage is a social event of utmost importance and is above religion, caste, creed, nationality and such
aspects; it is advisable to examine the horoscopes of both Girl and Boy and assess compatibility of both
horoscopes before finalizing their marriage. While assessing the compatibility we have to examine the
aspects pertaining to Kuja (Mars), Sukra (Venus) and Chandra (Moon). Mars (Kuja) is the planet which
influences the sperm in males; Sukra (Venus) is the planet which influences the ovum in females; and
Moon causes sexual desire in the couple and urges them to copulate; he acts strongly on the minds of the
couple. So these three planets Mars, Venus and Moon play vital role in the married life of the couple.
Besides the presiding planet of marriage and conjugal life is Venus (Sukra). So the conjugal life of
married couple is ruled by Mars; he can make their conjugal life enjoyable or miserable.
Kuja Dosham as explained in the previous Post should be checked in both the Horoscopes of the Bride and
Bride groom to be matched for a happy married life.
I had received the following two charts for matching long back(somewhere in 1982) , and how I Studied
the main objection of Kuja Dosha Raised by the parents, and how I recommended for marriage of the
couple and the procedure I followed is given below :-
Now they are happily married and celebrated their 32nd Marriage anniversary at Mumbai.

As per astrological classics, Mangala Dosha cannot be cancelled entirely, only its intensity can be
reduced. Under special circumstances, Mangala Dosha is automatically nullified or reduced to a
minimum.
In the charts of BRIDEGROOM and BRIDE Mangala Dosha gets cancelled because of following
reasons
1. Mars is placed in any of the first, fourth, seventh, eighth and twelfth houses of the horoscope of both
the groom and the bride, their doshas are mutually destroyed and the marital relationship is
harmonious.

This cancellation of Mangala dosha is based on the Bhakoota, the Gana and the overall points gained
in the Ashtakoota method of matching the horoscopes. The analysis of the charts of BRIDEGROOM
and BRIDE reveal the following results
It can be considered that in the birth chart of BRIDEGROOM, Mangala Dosha is

cancelled.
In the birth chart of BRIDE, Mars is in Scorpio in fourth house. Therefore Mangala Dosha should be
considered to be cancelled.
In the birth chart of BRIDE, Mars is in Scorpio in fourth house. Therefore Mangala Dosha is
considered as cancelled.
In the birth chart of BRIDE, the above condition matches, therefore Mangala Dosha is considered to
have been eliminated.
2. If in one persons horoscope Mars is placed in first, fourth, seventh, eighth or twelfth house and in
the other persons horoscope Saturn is placed in one of these houses then Mangala Dosha is not there.
3. In the horoscopes of the groom and the bride, if the signs occupied by the Moon are mutually friendly
(Bhakoota); there is friendship of the Ganas (Deva, Manushya and Rakshasa); or the points gained in
Guna Matching is high, then Mangala dosha does not occur.
4. Bhakoota Matching : In the horoscope of BRIDEGROOM the sign occupied by the Moon is
Scorpio and in the horoscope of BRIDE the sign occupied by the Moon is Taurus. The Bhakoota
matching is auspicious and 7.0 gunas are alloted.
5. Gana Matching : BRIDEGROOMs Gana is Rakshasa and BRIDE s Gana is Rakshasa. Gana
matching is auspicious and 6.0 gunas are alloted.
6. Ashtakoota Matching : In the Ashtakoota matching between BRIDEGROOM and BRIDE has
resulted in 28.5 points out of a maximum of 36 points.
7. Result : Since both the Bhakoota and Gana matching are auspicious and in the Ashtakoota the
points gained are high, the Mangala dosha effect is nullified.
8. Mars is considered to be malefic when it is strong in an inauspicious positions. If Mars is weak; is
aspected by a benefic planet or is combust with the Sun, Mars is not considered to cause Mangala
dosha.
9. Mars is considered to be malefic when it is strong in an inauspicious position. If Mars is weak; is
aspected by a benefic planet or is combust with Sun, Mars is not considered to form Mangala dosha.
10. Mars is placed in one of the Mangala dosha forming houses in the horoscope of the girl and
auspicious Jupiter is in a kendra or trikona (first, fourth, fifth, seventh, ninth or tenth house) then
Mangala dosha gets cancelled. The girl is virtuous, will give birth to sons, happy in every manner,
talented, wealthy and fortunate.
11. If Mars is in the fourth or seventh house in Aries, Cancer, Scorpio, or Capricorn then Mangala dosha
is not present and this situation is considered to be auspicious.
12. If Mars is in the first, fourth, seventh, eighth or twelfth house conjoined or aspected by Moon,
Jupiter or Mercury then one should not consider Mangala Dosha.
13. If Mars is exalted or in its own sign in the Birth Chart or Navamsha, or in the sign Cancer or Leo,
then Mangala dosha is not harmful.
14. If Mars is in Leo (sign of Sun) or if Mars is in Cancer (sign of Moon) or if Mars is in its own sign
(Aries, Scorpio) or if Mars is in exaltation (Capricorn), Mangala Dosha gets automatically
nullified.
15. In the fourth house, if Mars is in its own sign (Aries or Scorpio) or in the sign of Venus (Taurus or
Libra) then Mangala dosha does not occur. In other words Mars in the fourth house for those born in
Cancer, Leo, Capricorn or Aquarius ascendants makes Mangala free of dosha.
16. Mangala Dosha is removed if the dispositor of Mars (lord of the sign where Mars is placed) is in a
kendra (square) or trikona (trine) from the Lagna or the Moon.
17. Mangala Dosha does not occur if Mars is conjoined with Jupiter.
18. If Mars is conjoined or aspected by Mercury, Mangala dosha does not occur.
19. If Moon is in a kendra from Lagna, Mangala Dosha does not occur.
20. If Mars is in Lagna in Aries; or Mars in Sagittarius in twelfth house; or Mars in Scorpio in fourth
house; or Mars in Taurus in seventh house; or Mars in Aquarius in eighth house, Mangala Dosha
does not occur.
21. If Mars is in Lagna in Aries; or Mars in Sagittarius in twelfth house; or Mars in Scorpio in fourth
house; or Mars in Taurus in seventh house; or Mars in Aquarius in eighth house, Mangala Dosha
does not occur.
22. If a strong Jupiter or Venus is in the lagna or seventh house; or Mars is retrograde, debilitated or in
an inimical sign, Mangala dosha is eliminated.
So there should not be any objection for anybody for matching inspite of Kuja Dosha in both the Charts
especially the position of Mars in the 7th House in the Girls Chart.

KUJA DOSHA OR MANGALIk OR
MANGALA DOSHA
Posted on July 2, 2013 by sreenivasdesabhatla
Mangala Dosha affects the married life of a person in many ways it creates delays,
cheating, hurdles and obstacles in getting married. After marriage physical, mental or financial
hardship for one of the partners or both the partners. It causes mutual disputes, allegations and
counter allegations and may even lead to disintegration of marriage. If Dosha is pronounced,
one of the partners may remain ill or there may be untimely death of either one or both the
partners. Inspite of this one should not be scared of Mangala Dosha. Efforts should be made for
a person having Mangala dosha to marry another person with Mangala dosha because when
the dosha is similar, it gets nullified and the couple leads a happy married life.

In the horoscope of both the bride and the groom, if Mars is placed in the second, fourth,
seventh, eighth or twelfth house from the Lagna, the Moon or Venus, then due to equality,
Mangala dosha is nullified. One attains mutual happiness, wealth, children, health and friends.
If a girl having Mangala dosha is married to a boy with Mangala dosha, the dosha is cancelled
and there will be mutual happiness.

To ward off the effects of Mangala Dosha following Remedy is recommended

One should fast on Tuesdays (sunrise to next day sunrise). During the day consume liquid
drinks without salt like tea, coffee, milk, fruit juice and curd. In the evening, draw a triangle
with red kumkum on a plate and worship with Panchopachara [red sandalwood, red flowers,
incense (dhoopa deepa naivedyaalu) lighted lamp and food consecrated to a deity]. Thereafter,
only before sunset, one may consume wheat bread, ghee and jaggery..
If the Mangalik Dosha is pronounced then the Mangala Chandika Strotra should be recited
daily for 21 times for 108 consecutive days

CONSIDERATION OF MANGALA DOSHA

Marriage is the union of not only two individuals but also two families which has to be kept
stable and permanent till the couple lives. For a stable marriage we need in the first case a
mutual compatibility. Each one of the couple adopted a way of life in previous incarnation
and will continue with that in the present incarnation with some modifications according to
the lessons learnt.
The earlier life is not an open book and may be read by a learned Astrologer. The Horoscope
gives hints and clues which may be missed by some Astrologers partly if seen in a hurry.
Hence it is necessary for the Parents to give sufficient time to study the Charts in detail and
pay sufficiently in their own interest for the happy married Life of their Children. When lot of
money is spent in the performance of the Marriage of their children, both the parties of the
Bride and the Groom , should ensure that the money spent is properly utilised by giving a
stable and happy married life to their wards. They should ensure that proper matching is
done by a competent Astrologer so that the married couple will not get a mismatch thus
leading to an unhappy married life or divorce.
Horoscope compatibility is very important for the cosmic powers make people like or dislike
each other. Now I will deal with one of the factors for matching two Horoscopes-that is
Mangala Dosha or Kuja Dosha.
1. Mangala Dosha or Kuja Dosha occurs when Mars is placed in the First-Second- Forth-
Seventh- Eighth- or Twelfth House from Birth Lagna.
2. Lagne Vyaye Sukhe vaapi sapthame vaa ashthame kujo I
Subha Drughyoga heene cha Patim Hanthi na Samshayam II BPHS
3. Dhane Vyaye Cha paathaale jamitre chashtame kujah: I
Kanya Bhartha Vinashaya Bharthuh:Kanya Vinashyathi II -Maanasaagari
4. According to some ancient Rushis, Mangala Dosha also occurs when Mars is placed in 1-2-
4-7-8-12 Houses from Moon- Venus and Seventh Lord and Dasa of Mars may give inauspicious
results.
Shloka Lagnendhu sukradh Dhusthaane Yadyashthi Kshithi Sambhavah: I
Thathdasa Paaka Samaye Doshamaahur Maneeshanah: II
5. In general Practice Mangala Dosha is considered from Lagna and Moon. According to
Astrological Classics Mangala Dosha cannot be Cancelled entirely but only its intensity can
be reduced. Under special circumstances Mangala Dosha is automatically nullified or reduced
to a minimum.
6. Kuja Dosha is not to be dreaded as it is trditionally taken as there are so many alternatives
in the name of special circumstances as follows.

7. Special circumstances under the following conditions is automatically nullified or reduced
to a minimum.
1. Slokam: Swakshetre Uccha Raasi Sthithe Ucchamse Swaamsagepi Vaa I
Angaarako Na Doshasshyath Karya Simhe Na Doshabhaak II

MEANING : If Mars is exalted or in its own sign in the birth chart or nvamsa or in the sign
Cancer or Leo, then Mangala Dosha is not harmful
2. If in one persons Horoscope Mars is placed in 1-4-7-8-12 House and in another Horoscope
saturn is placed in one of these Houses then Mangala Dosha is not there.
3. If Mars is in Leo [Sign of Sun] or Cancer [sign of Moon] or Mars is in own Sign ( Aries.
Scorpio) or if Mars is in Exaltation ( Capricorn ) Mangala Dosha automatically gets nullified.
4. Mangala Dosha is removed if the dispositor of Mars is in a Kendra or Trikona from the
Lagna or the Moon.
Slokam BHouma Sthithese yadi kendra kona thaddhosha nasham pravadhanthi Santhah:
5. Count the number of planets in the 1st-4th -7th 8th and the 12th Houses from lagna and
the Moon. If the No. of maleficsin Grooms Horoscope exceeds the No. of Planets in the Brides
Horoscope then the Marital relations is considered excellant.

6.Mars is considered malefic when it is strong in any inauspicious position [2-4-7-8-12] .
If Mars is week is aspected by a benefic planet [Jup-Ven-Full Moon- Mercury ] or is combust
being nearer to the Sun- Mars is not considered to cause Mangala Dosha.
7. If Mars is placed in one of the Mangala Dosha position in the Horoscope of the Girl and
auspicious Jupiter is in a kendra or Trikona then the Mangala Dosha gets cancelled. The Girl is
virtuous and will be happy in every manner, talented, wealthy and fortunate.
8. If Mars in the 1st-2nd- 4th- 8th -12th House in a movable sign -it is not malefic , otherwise
it is extremely harmful.
9. If Moon is in a kendra from Lagna- Mangala Dosha does not occur.

debilitated or in an inimical sign, Mangala Dosha is eliminated.
11. If Mars is exalted or in its own sign in the Rasi Chart or in the Navamsa or in the Signs
Cancer or Leo, then Mangala Dosha is not harmful.
12. In the Horoscope of the Groom and the Bride, if the signs occupied by the Moon are
Mutually friendly (Bhakoota) or if there is friendship of the Ganas ( Deva Gana Manushya
Gana -Rakshasa Gana ) or the points gained in Guna matching is high, then Mangala Dosha
does not occur.
Slk. Rasi maithram yadaa yaaathi ganaikhya vaa yadhaa Bhaveth I
Athava Guna Bhahulye Bhouma Dosho na Vidhyathe II
This Cancellation of Mangala Dosha is based on the Bhakoota- Gana and overall points
gained in the ashtakoota method of Matching the Horoscopes.
13. If Mars and Rahu are conjoined or Moon and Venus are in the 2nd house or Rahu is in a
Kendra from Lagna or Jupiter aspects Mars Mangala Dosha does not occur.
14. If Mars is placed in any Dosha Bhavas of the Horoscopes of both the Groom and the Bride,
their Doshas are mutually destroyed and marital relationship is harmonious.

Effect of Kuja Dosham
1. If Kuja is in the Lagna the native will be aggressive and quarrelsome. He is inauspicious
in Lagna as well as the 2nd House where Kuja becomes the significator of death of the consort.
The 2nd House of the family causes troubles in married life.
2. Kuja in the sign of Venus he is under the influence of women. In Cancer he is intelligent
but wicked.
3. As the significator of brothers he creates bitter quarrels in family when he is in the 3rd
House.
4. The fifth house makes extremely sensuous causing thereby physical, social, and financial
ruin.
5. Occupation of Mars in the 7th House is most unfortunate for the Marriage. There may be
separation by Divorce or an early bereavement.
6. Kuja is not necessarily the evil incarnate in all cases. Good aspect to Mars from Sun
makes the native healthy and immune to diseases.
7. Kujas evil relations with the Moon may lead the native to unnecessary disputes and
unhappy domestic life.
8. There is no balanced sexual life in women if Mars occupies a malefic House in
association with another Malefic.
9. Mangala means auspicious and Bhouma or Kuja means the son of the Earth. In the
celestial Cabinet he is the commander in chief and is gifted with good administered ability
with unbounded power and violence. He seeks sensual pleasures.
10. Both the partners should equally take efforts to make their marital relationship enjoyable
and comfortable.
11. Effective communication helps develop a strong bond between the couple. You should be
able to express your feelings and share all your joys, worries and concerns with your partner.
However, communication is not restricted to talking only. You should also be able to carefully
listen to your partner.
12. Another important thing for a healthy marriage is to express an appreciation. You should
never miss to appreciate your partner even for everyday things such as cooking the meals,

WHICH GOD TO WORSHIP AS PER HOROSCOPE
Posted on June 25, 2013 by sreenivasdesabhatla
In Hindu System different people worship different Gods. Some worship Lord Vishnu, some Lord Siva,
Some worship Krishna, and some Saibaba. Are there any norms prescribed for worshipping such and
such God for easy salvation in our scriptures or Vedas. The answer is Yes. In Jyotisham called
Panchama Vedam You can find the answer
Fifth House and Planets placed in the 5th if no planets in the 5th , the Lord of the 5th House, and the
Lord of the sign where Lord of the 5th is placed decides the inclination of the Individual to worship the
God prescribed by ancient Classics on Astrology.
With regard to qualities as Mantra sthana, the planet positioned in 5th house prompts the individual to
develop devotion towards a particular form of God/Goddess. The following are some of the combinations.
Sun Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu. Sun is also directly worshipped as God in Hindu system. (Also Lord
Rama in Dasavataram)
Moon Goddess Durga and her different forms. (Also Lord Krishna in Dasavataram)
Mars Lord Subramanya (Kaarthikeya, Younger son of Lord Shiva and Parvathi). (Also Lord
Narasimha in Dasavataram)
Mercury Lord Vishnu or other forms of Vishnu like Krishna, Venkateswara etc. (Also Lord
Trivikrama in Dasavataram)
Jupiter Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, Lord Dattatreya, Saibaba. (Also Lord Vamana in Dasavataram)
Venus Goddess Lakshmi (Also Lord Parasurama in Dasavataram)
Saturn Lord Shiva (Also Kurmavatar in Dasavataram)
Rahu Goddess Durga and different forms. (Also Varahavataram in Dasavataram)
Ketu Lord Ganesh. (Also Meenavataram in Dasavataram)
It is also under practice to worship Rahu and Ketu in the form of Serpent.
For Vishnu mantras: Sthira Lagna or Fixed Signs as Lagna is the best
For Siva Mantras : Chara Lagna or Movable Signs as Lagna is the Best
For Devi Mantras : Dwiswabhava Lagna or duel sign Asc. is Best
Devi Parvas are best for recital of Mantras. Effective Devi Parvas are:-
Bhadrapada Shashti Aswiyuja Bahula Chaturdasi Karthika Sudha Navami -
Margashira Bahula Panchami Pushya Sudha Pournami Magha Sudha Chaviti
Phalguna Bahula Ekadasi Chaitra bahula Thrayodasi Vaisakha sudha Tadiya
(Akshaya Thrutiya) Jyeshta Sukla Dasami ( Dasahara) Asghada Bahula
Dwadasi- Sravana Amavasya- These are called Devi Parvas. They are very
effective for Recital of Mantras.
