KISS Double-Decker Electric Railcar

for BeNEX GmbH/NETINERA Deutschland GmbH


BeNEX GmbH and NETINERA Deutschland GmbH ordered
16 double-decker railcars type KISS for the operation on the rail
network in Berlin/Brandenburg. Starting in 2012, the vehicles will
be operated by the Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn GmbH (ODEG).
The double-decker trains with four cars are equipped with 428
passenger seats of which 24 are located in the rst class area. The
transport of bicycles is possible in the spacious multi-purpose areas.
The vehicles of the KISS-family are based on a vehicle concept for
regional trafc. They all have a modular design. The traction equip-
ment areas are located over the traction bogies.
