@ Central Universities Bill, 2008 21. SHRI ARJUN SINGH to move for leave to
withdraw the Bill to establish and incorporate universities for teaching and research
in the various States and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental
thereto.
22. SHRI ARJUN SINGH to move for leave to introduce a Bill to establish and
incorporate universities for teaching and research in the various States and to
provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. ALSO to introduce the
Bill.
@ The Bill was introduced on 23 October, 2008 and referred to the Standing
Committee on Human Resource Development for examination and report. The report
of the Standing Committee was laid on the Table of Lok Sabha on 17 December,
2008. A statement containing reasons for which the Bill is being withdrawn has
already been circulated to members on 12 February, 2009.
@@ To be introduced in case Bill at Sl .No. 21 is withdrawn.

After discussion as indicated in para 27 below, the Resolution was withdrawn by leave of the House.

The motion was adopted and the Bill was passed.
