Project Title: One IST Website Integration

Convert outdated IST sites to the current IST website framework.

B.Project Objective:
The objectives of this project are to:
work with IST departments website owners to convert outdated sites they identify for
moving to the current IST website framework (in Drupal)
develop webpage format standards for website owners to use
train website owners on how to update their website content in Drupal
This project is subject to the resources of two half-time interns contracted until May, 2009.
C.Assumptions
Department website content owners will identify websites for conversion; only identifed
sites will be considered for conversion.
Sites for conversion must be content-only sites.
Department website content owners are responsible for editing and reviewing the sites
theyve identifed for conversion and are expected to work collaboratively with the project
team.
The content of websites in the IST website framework will be maintained by department
website content owners.
The amount of sites converted is subject to the resources of two half-time internships
dedicated to this project.

The scope of this project includes:

Risk Mitigation Strategy
IST website framework is based on Drupal; functionalities
and efciencies are dependent on Drupal, an open-
source application.
Apply patches and modules as needed.
Decentralized maintenance of IST website may slow
down system; sites might be neglected due to lack of
central ownership or may be improperly updated
Publish site owner list and provide training
on site maintenance
The IST websites original layout may not be designed
appropriately to accommodate all of ISTs needs
If the IST website is to be revamped, this will
be considered another project.
There may be no content owners for some sites.
IST departments may not want to own their contents
and take responsibility for their maitenance

Identify metric and target you are trying to achieve as a result of this project. For example, overall cost
savings of $50K or reduce processing time by 25 percent.
