Prayer to the Holy Spirit, Giver of
Life

Come Holy Spirit, Creator of all things...You who
breathed over the waters at the dawn of creation and
brought forth all living beings...You who filled the
apostles when the Risen Lord breathed on them on
the first Easter night, giving them the power to re-
store life to those dead in sin...You who, on the last
day, will breathe again over all the dead and raise
them from the grave--Come! Come and breathe on
our world again, immersed as it is in the Culture of
Death! Come, O Lord and Giver of Life! Defeat the
works of death in our midst, that abortion may no
longer stain our land.
We worship You, O Holy Spirit, and we rejoice in
You. We know that no matter how strong the forces
of death may be, we can still find in You the endless
source of life. Renew that life in each of us, and
make us worthy apostles of the Culture of Life in our
day! Amen.

Mass Intentions
As Catholics, we have a long tradition of having Masses celebrated for those we wish to offer up in prayer.
The Mass is the ultimate form of prayer, and each Mass is celebrated for an intention.
Please consider having Masses celebrated for family and friends on special occasions and anniversaries, as
well as those who are in need of prayers. Masses are also encouraged in memory of those loved ones who
have died, especially on the anniversaries of their deaths. Contact Fr. Cory for more information!
When My Sin Discourages Me
O Jesus, I feel that I have ruined everything by my sin. Im sorry for
what I have done, and I will do my best not to do it again. Dear Jesus,
by the power of Your infinite mercy, I trust that somehow you can fix
not only the evil Ive done but bring an even greater good out of it.

Stewardship

September 7, 2014 - 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

"You, son of man, I have appointed watchman for the
house of Israel." - Ezekiel 33:7

Many of us are generous with our gifts. However, how
often is our generosity at the minimum level required?
We do just enough or give just enough. Remember, the
Lord calls us to be generous with all the gifts He has
given us, to grow them and return them with increase.

Prayer For US Elections

O God, we acknowledge You today as Lord,
Not only of individuals, but of nations and
governments.

We thank You for the privilege
Of being able to organize ourselves politically
And of knowing that political loyalty does not have
to mean disloyalty to You.

We thank You for Your law, which our Founding
Fathers acknowledged and recognized as higher than
any human law. We thank You for the opportunity
that this election year puts before us, To exercise
our solemn duty not only to vote, but to influence
countless others to vote, And to vote correctly.

Lord, we pray that Your people may be awakened.
Let them realize that while politics is not their
salvation, their response to You requires that
they be politically active.

Awaken Your people to know that they are not called
to be a sect fleeing the world But rather a
community of faith renewing the world.

Awaken them that the same hands lifted up to You in
prayer (http://www.catholic.org/prayers)are the
same hands that pull the lever in the voting booth;
that the same eyes that read Your Word , are the eyes
that read the names on the ballot, and that they do not
cease to be Christians when they enter the voting
booth.

Awaken Your people to a commitment to justice,
To the sanctity of marriage and the family,
To the dignity of each individual human life,
And to the truth that human rights begin when
Human Lives begin, And not one moment later.

Lord, we rejoice today That we are citizens of
Your kingdom. May that make us all the more
committed to being faithful citizens on earth.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.
