Our company has been awarded a prestigious contract of Building 500 m length
pre-stressed concrete bridge on a national highway crossing the major river. Only 100 m
wide and 300 m long space on both side of highway is available for mobiliation! wor"ing
# site set up.
$o mobilie our site we have to house 350 $ of cement! 350$ %teel! & sie ''
crawler tractor doer! one mobile crane! ten dumpers! 100 men (abor force setup in
addition to this complete site office with communication set )p.
*ere we are discussing my plan to organie the site! with lay out s"etch showing
all details. +ind direction is from west to east and bridge direction is from east to west.

Once the contract is signed by the company! the project e,ecution would start. -
detailed plan for mobiliation is prepared and manpower as well as plant and e.uipment
allocation is forecasted and provision is made for the same. -s a handing over of a site
and other formalities such as ban" guaranties! mobiliation advance would ta"e place in
due course! the time re.uired to complete this formalities would be used for the project
study! ta"e off plan and organiing the site mobiliation.

ordination! involvement! good understanding amongst all project team.

planning dept. which is approved by the clients. (ater! a detailed wor" schedule is
prepared for the main construction wor" and is monitored in wee"ly basis of to achieve
the timely completion!. <rom this detailed scheduled the critical path is identified. $he
site manager should assure that these activities are completed in time. +henever such
activities are found behind schedule! every effort is to be made such as a pulling out
resources from other non critical activates revision in wor" methods etc. to maintain the
schedule.
$he resource re.uirements is found out from schedule;. 0esource leveling and
something is possible which helps to e,ecution this schedule is also useful in determining
the delivery schedule of material as well as inventory management. $he finical
re.uirement of the project can be identified in advance to arrange the finance
accordingly. 4onthly turnover and income forecast! based on the progress plan together
with all other finical movement provide a good guidance above the cash flow budgets.

health department is wor"ing on our site. 'n this department one responsible person
daily visit at site to chec" all the site wor"ing area! labor camp awareness! common
space.

One day in wee" meeting is arranged to head office or site office wherever
possible regarding to progress report! pending decisions! site related problems.

provides re.uired momentum to the site and wor" progresses smoothly. $he oral
productivity of the project always depends upon the mobiliation. 'f the productivity rate
is good at start! it can be increased to very good or best! but if the productivity rate is
average at the start even drastic efforts will ta"e it to good level. *ence to achieve good
productivity from beginning a good system of wor" encouraging every employee to
produce more should be used.
-s per our project completion schedule shown in contract and planning schedule
given by client we have too much min time for completion of initial site set up and
therefore there is necessity of speedy mobiliation of all agencies.

food accommodation facility also have to be provided for bachelor. <or effective and
interesting wor"ing condition e,clusive offer of bonus! overtime allowance! yearly benefit
incentive also have to be declared.

wor"ing as per roles defined. <or e,pansive and effective wor"ing on site meeting of all
representatives of heads of dept. will be held at every morning and all the problems!

supervision also. <or completion of each and every activity all staff have to co-operate
with contactor. 'nitially all basic re.uirements of contractor needs to be completed li"e
advance payments! labor camp for wor"er. -ttractive percentage bonus or fi,ed amount
has to be declare against timely completion of wor".

from site! material issued to contractor and there stoc" registers are maintained on site.
:uantity of material will get calculated activity wise by the estimation
department. -s per material availability! their cost and time of re.uirement is ta"en into
consideration. :uotations or rates of different supplier are called for! .uality of material!
credit facility! transportation losses are calculated. $hen suppliers get finalied and
material is procured.
