Albert Einstein was one of the most brilliant scientists who ever lived. The
theories that he developed about time, light and gravity have changed how we look at
the world and resulted in many new inventions. His famous equation, E=mc was very
useful!

When we think of the life of Albert Einstein we usually think of a man who was
able to work with numbers in a truly magical way. We think of a man who was one of
the greatest geniuses of the modern age. What many of us dont know is that in
addition to making great discoveries about matter and time, Einstein also loved to
have fun. He enjoyed bike riding, playing with children, and eating chocolate. He was
one of the greatest minds of all time and yet he never learned how to drive because he
thought it was too complicated. I think he was a funny man.

Did you know that Einstein once said, "It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I
stay with problems longer." Although he was an advocate of world peace, his work
led to the creation of the atom bomb. Research done after his death showed that his
brain was only slightly different in size to an average man's.

This excellent book will give readers an interesting and warm picture of a man
who thought that imagination is more important than knowledge and that our
scienceis the most precious thing we have. Meet Albert Einstein, one of history's
great thinkers. Learn about his scientific theories and his full and fascinating life!

B. Description/ Brief summary
The book talks about Albert Einsteins life; Albert begins studying at Swiss
Federal Institute of Technology. He graduates in 1900 as a math teacher. After, he
is hired as a patent officer in Bern, Switzerland. In 1903, Albert and Minerva are
married in Bern in 12 May, 1904. Alberts first son is born, in 1905; Albert
publishes four papers that change the world of physics. His papers include the
Special Theory of Relativity. After World War when a solar eclipse enables
British astronomers to confirm the general theory of relativity, Albert becomes
world famous. Unfortunately, he suffers from heart trouble, In 1935, he and two
co-workers write a paper about the EPR paradox. This is Alberts last great paper
and after being ignored for many years, it is now having a huge influence on
science. In 18 April 1995, he dies in Princeton, New J ersey. This is his life.
C. Review
This book is about Albert Einsteins life. In the book, he said Its not that Im
so smart, its just that I stay with problems longer. This saying can remind readers
that success can not be reached in a single bound. When we have troubles we need
to discover answers.
This book explains Albert Einsteins life in a simple way. Although there are
only a few pages of this book, we can learn all about his life and his efforts in
physics. This book is very educational. Readers can find out what scientific spirit
is. Albert has said I sometimes ask myself why I was the one to develop the
theory of relativity. The reason I think is that a normal adult never stops to think
about problems of space. These are thingsthought of as a child. and
Imagination is more important than knowledge. This is why Albert is so
successful. He teaches readers to utilize with their creativity.
The book has many pictures, they can help readers guess the content of the
book, but I think this book is not suitable for adults because the contents of the
book are relatively simple. It is more suitable for children. It can help readers get
more extra knowledge. So, I will recommend this book to children who like
physics. I hope children like Albert Einstein A life of Genius.

C. Review
The content of this book is very interesting because it talks about the great
inventor. I learnt many things from this book while at the same time learning
something about Albert Einsteins inventions. Nowadays, many things that we use are
invented by Albert Einstein. In this book there are some quotes that I like. If A is
success in life, then A=x+y+z. Work is x, y is play and z is keeping your mouth shut.
It is because if we want to have success, we need to work hard, but we also need to
relax. If people do not relax, they will have a lot of stress. The other quote that I also
like is Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited.
Imagination encircles the world. If we lack imagination, we cannot invent anything.

But, I think the author needs to add some colorful cartoon, pictures, because there
are many black and white pictures. In conclusion, this book is a great book to read in
order to know more about Albert Einstein.

Elizabeth Macleod, the author, described Albert Einsteins whole life from his
early childhood, his teenage studies, his work in a patent shop, to his years in
universities across Europe and in the US, during which he did physics research and
published papers. His family life, passion and being a peace advocate were included
in the book. Besides, he used to make speeches in public. People all round the world
admired him and liked listening to whatever he said. Einstein once said, Its not that I

developed about time, light and gravity resulted in many inventions. His famous
equation E=mc

, has led to nuclear power, radiation therapy and more.

C: Review
This book provides a concise, easy-to-understand overview of Einsteins life.
There are a lot of pictures and Einsteins quotes and this can make this book become
interesting to readers, especially young readers.

The United States dropped the two atom bombs in J apan. Einstein felt very
dissatisfied because he knew the atom bomb would affect J apans natural environment
and he was an advocate of world peace.

Einstein once said, Its not that Im so smart. Its just that I stay with problems
longer. The first time Einstein took the entrance exam to the Institute of Technology
in Zurich, he failed! In J une 1989, Einstein suffered a burned hand from an explosion
in the lab. But he did not give up, he continued to research physics. We can see that
Einstein was not afraid of failing. Einstein never stopped doing experiments. He
invented so many scientific inventions.

A Introduction of the author, publisher of the book
This book was published successfully because of Elizabeth Macleods hard work.
And Professor Allan Griffin made sure both the facts about Albert and the physics
were correct. Also the publishers team have contributed a lot too. The description,
together with valuable photos, good illustrations and design raise the interest level of
the book.

B. Description/ Brief summary
This book is about Albert Einstein. He is a World-famous scientist. The theories
that he developed about time, light and gravity have changed how we look at the
world and resulted in many new inventions. He made time for physics, often
becoming so lost in his work that he forgot to eat. Because of his hard work, so he
became world-famous and in 1932 he decided to leave Germany and never return in
order to continue his scientific life. Shall we put an end to the human race or shall
mankind renounce war? People will not face this alternative because it is so difficult
to abolish war Einstein said this when he heard how people suffered in J apan because
of the Atom Bomb. However, he was successful and he tried to make the world a safer,
more peaceful place. So he was genius scientist.

C. Review
Im not interested in physics, but after reading this book, I feel quite interested
about Albert Einsteins life of physics. His life is a legend and his achievements have
influenced later generations too. But he also made a big mistake. He made an Atom
bomb and hurt many people who lived in J apan. However, he regretts his mistake and
tried exerted to make a peaceful world. That is what students should learn after
reading this book.
In addition, there are two quotes in this book that I especially like. One is
Imagination is more important than knowledge. And other one is Anyone who has
never made a mistake has never tried anything new. I think knowledge is important
to us because we can use it to do anything, but I think imagination is more important
than knowledge because we should use imagination to think how to use this
knowledge in a right way. Also, failure is the mother of success; we can learn
everything thought failure. So I totally agree with Albert Einstein.
Furthermore, the size of the typeface is too small in the captions for the pictures.
And the spacing is too narrow; it makes the reader feel exhausted and bored. Anyway,
the pictures are interesting and can help readers to understand more Albert Einstein.
And the quotes, which Albert Einstein had said, are good about to all readers,
especially for ages from 8 to 12 students.
Lastly, it is a wonderful book that I highly recommend it to all readers.

absentminded that he once forgot where he lived. Although he was an advocate of
world peace, his work led to creation of the atom bomb. When Einstein family
landed a permanent job, it had nothing to do with physics. Instead, a friends father
got him work at the patent office in Bern., Switzerland. Alberts job was to study
the descriptions that inventors sent in and decide if their inventions were new and
deserved a patent. Sometimes when inventors applied for patents they wrote
confusing descriptions of their work. Albert had to rewrite them, which taught him
how to say things clearly. That skill would come in handy later when he was
writing up his own theories. In this chapter, I think the writer should have told us
more about how Albert landed a permanent job and why Albert Einsteins life was
so successful. The book has many beautiful pictures and I learnt more about science
and physics, like E=mc

. I like two of Einsteins mottoes Imagination is more

This book tells me know more about Albert Einstein and this great scientists whole

Einstein was wasting his time, he didnt give up and though he was well established

I liked this book because it informed me about Einstein and in physics. The author

This book is special. In chapter one, you may think Einstein is happy in his

Although the author uses easy words and many pictures to attract readers, I think

C. Review
I like this non-fiction book called Albert Einstein- A Life of Genius, I like
this book because it is full of colorful and beautiful pictures. The pictures are related
to the passage which can help me understand the content more easily. First, it has a
picture of Albert Einstein. Next, it shows Albert Einsteins famous equation, E=mc
2
.
At the back of it, it has some words and about the effect of gravity on starlight.
There are two quotes that I like most. Imagination is more important than
knowledge. Which was spoken by Albert? I agree with him because learning is
acquired by questions, so if we keep on questioning, so we can acquire a progress in
learning.
I think this book is very good because it not only gives information about
Albert Einstein, but it has also cited many quotes of Albert Einstein such as
Organized power can be opposed only by organized power. Much as I regret this
there is no other way. Also, I like this book because it provides an overview of
Alberts life at a glance. So we know Alberts biography easily.
But I think the layout of the content can be improved. Because when I read
the book, I will see a succession of words, it will affect the readers concentration. I
think the writer can add some pictures or things between paragraphs, it can make the
book more interesting.
Even though it has this problem, it is a good book too. So I think Albert
Einstein is a good publication to read. Consequently I recommend this book to all of
my friends who want to know more about Albert Einstein.

A. Introduction of the author, publisher of the book
Albert Einstein is written by Elizabeth MacLeod
who is a famous Canadian author. She has written many
biographies for elementary students. The publisher of
the book is Kids Can Press.

B. Description/ Brief summary
This book is about the biography of Albert Einstein. In the beginning of this
book, it introduces Albert Einsteins childhood. The amazing thing is that a
university student liked discussing math with Albert. However, the student soon
found that Albert knew far more than he did. Next, the book talks about the
brilliant time of Albert. Albert was able to publish his four incredible papers in
just one year and he published four papers that won him the Nobel Prize in one
year. Also, he figured out now energy and mass are linked and that is where his
famous equation E=mc comes from. Then, Albert became a professor in a
university and many university students were eager to visit Albert in his office any
time to discuss about physics. All students loved Albert very much. In the end of
this book, it talks about secrets about Einstein after 50 years of his death, doctors
discovered what made Albert a genius. Albert was a genius because of his brain.
Also, the book introduces Alberts contributions, such as nuclear power, radiation
therapy to treat cancer and gamma ray scans to check out bones. This inventions
help us very much.

C. Review
Albert Einstein is a good book for students to read. This is because the words
of this book are simple. Also, the articles are not very long. The writer uses
concise and precise wording to explain some complex issues in Einsteins life. It is
easy to understand. There is one thing I appreciate. The structure of this book is
very good. The left hand side of the page is the article which tells the details of
Einsteins life. The right hand side of the page is some photos and pictures related
to the article. It can make the readers understand more about the flow of the article.
Also, the photos and pictures make the book more interesting and vivid. When
you are reading this book, you will not feel tired or bored.

After reading this book, I learnt more about Alberts life and his contribution
to the world. Also, the book provides many dictums from Einstein and some
people related to Einstein. For example Einstein said Its not that Im so smart,
its just that I stay with problems longer.. There is a dictum I like the most in this
book. Einstein said If A=success, then the formula is A=X+Y+Z, where X is
work, y is play and Z is keep your mouth shut . I agree what Albert said. If
we want to succeed, we need to have some elements.

Besides, there is one area in which I think the book can be improved. Some
information about Albert is too general. The writer tells the main point but the
details are not enough. For example, the book tells that Albert proved a famous
equation E=mc. It is the main point but the book doesnt tell that the use of this
equation. But overall, the book is good and meaningful.

Finally, Albert Einstein is a good book. And I want to recommend this book to
all of you.

A. Description/Brief summary
Albert Einstein talks about the life of the genius, Albert Einstein. As we know,
Albert Einstein is the greatest scientist in the world. With his bushy white hair, droopy
moustache and rumpled clothed, he looks like everyones image of an absentminded
scientist.

Albert Einstein was absentminded but he was also brilliant. Hes famous for his
discoveries of the relationship of time, light and gravity and how they affect the
universe . His theories changed the world of physics the study of matter and energy
and how they interact. He also showed how things move, from the tiniest particles to
planets.

B. Review
In the Chapter 1, it tells us that many scientists prefer the lab to the real
world, but Albert wasnt one of them. Physics filled his mind most of the time
however Albert Einstein also tried to be part of what was going on around him. He
felt that scientists have to be responsible for their work and how it affects people.
World peace was also very important to him. He was so famous that people wanted to
hear what he said about almost any subjects. He often spoke about the importance of
world peace. He also said famously, Its not that Im so smart, its just that I stay with
problems longer.

One of Einsteins theories said that speed makes time slow down. Albert got
the Nobel Prize in that year. He published four incredible papers in just one year
because hed been thinking about them for years and discussing them with friends for
a long time. Do you know the Toblerone chocolate bar? It is shaped according to
Einsteins patent.

There are too many things about Einstein, we can find the important moving in
page 30, Einstein lived up to 76 years old. This book is so interesting. There are not
only chapters but also many colorful pictures and it can help us to understand the
theories easily. It is worth reading!

Elizabeth Macleod is the author of the snapshots series. She has also written craft
books, picture books and more. She lives in Toronto, Ontario.

B. Description/ Brief summary
This book is a snapshot: Images of people and places in history. It has almost all
the information and facts about Albert Einstein. The book tells us that Albert was
absentminded but he was also brilliant. It also talks about how he found new
things and to do with the physics. Albert invented the new theories such as
happiest thought of my life and the quanta (light particles). Next, it talks about
that Albert wanted to be a professor but unfortunately, there was another professor
who hated him so he was unable to become a professor at first. Then, he had
become a professor in Bern. Lastly, it talks about his family. He had a wife and
two sons. They were smart too.

C. Review
Albert Einstein was good at physics and math but no one talked to him because he
was hard to communicate with. At first no one accepted Einsteins theories
because he was not yet a Professor. His dream was to become a professor in
university. He was liked to teach while studying with Physics in his lab and the
pay for being professor is better than being private teacher. He liked living in Bern
Switzerland and he was happy to be teaching there.

He was a very impressive and hard-working person. He had founded a theory
called happiest thought of my life of relativity applied only to objects moving at
a constant speed. This chapter also shows that he kept thinking about quanta (light
particles) which we called photons today. In 1900, the University of Zurich finally
appointed him and was honored by Switzerlands University of Geneva.

I really appreciate him because he has made up a formula which says if
A=successful, then the formula would be A=X+Y+Z. X for work, Y for play and
Z for keep your mouth shut. It is pretty funny to see that Albert is a humorous
person and he always made jokes. I like that kind of scientists because scientists
are usually not very funny.

Albert once said its not that Im so smart, its just that I stay with problems
longer. I agree with him because many people think that they are not smart. It is
just that they havent even thought of the problem and they dont solve the
problem.

I think this book because it contains many pictures which I find useful. Also, the
text is easy to read. There are a lot of descriptions about Albert and I think I have
learnt a lot from it.

2. Author: Ling Ming Yu
3. Type of Book/ Genre: Non-fiction
4. Publisher: Breakthrough Ltd.

A. Introduction of the author, publisher of the book
This book is written by Ling Ming Yu who thinks all successful people must
have made in their difficulties story. Therefore Ling hope that teenager can learn to
work hard from this book.

B. Description/ Brief summary
This book talks about Hayan Miyazakis life. Hayan Miyazaki is a J apanese
comics artist, a prominent film director and an animator of many popular anime
feature films. He wrote many stories with many scene of the chapters like his childs
life, wars, the disaffection of modern society civilization. So he likes a magician.
People all around the world like his works. And we can find our own pleasure and get
touched thought his works.
This book describes his experience from childhood. You can see Hayan lived in a
generation of World War II. He loved peace, so he drew many pictures to vent his
feelings. When he grew up, he got a job at Toei Animation, and started his work in
animation.

C. Review
Love and Dreams in the Animation World of Hayan Miyazaki is a good book
for all children and teenagers. Not only can people know more about Miyazakis life,
readers can also learn how to make an animation. The author used many adjectives to
describe how Miyazaki loved drawing, and how hard to realize his dream.
In this book, I totally agree with two quotes from the book. The first one is The
feeling that the animation gives to us are so pure and simple. It is a piece of art that
lets us develop our imagination and it has the same power as literature or others
drama. Children all around the world love cartoons and animations, it is because
animations are colorful and active, also they always give us lessons and make us
laugh.
The second one is The thing that has already taken place, would not erase, and
just cant remember. I agree with this Quote because in our life, we will meet many
happy things and unhappy things. When you are happy, you will not remember the
unhappy things, but you will remember the unhappy things when you feel unhappy.
So I think this quote can reflect our real life.
Finally, this books content is simple. The flow is smooth. It does not only make
me know more about Miyazakis childhood, also it makes me feel curious in
animations. Therefore, I believed that Hayan Miyazaki must become a good model of
learning.

3. Type of book/ Genre: Non- fiction
4. Publisher: Michael O Mara Books Limited

A. Introduction of the author, publisher of the book
Chas Newkey-Burden is the author of this book.

B. Description/ Brief summary
In fact, Michael J ackson was nothing if not a man of contradiction. Arguably the
most famous pop star on the planet, adored by millions, he described himself as one
of the loneliest people in the world. A child prodigy whose astonishing performances
showed maturity beyond his years, as an adult he displayed an obsession with children
that led him into hot water. A sweet-faced black kid, MJ was smashed into the barriers
of racial prejudice. His changing skin color and facial surgery left him unrecognizable
in his later years. The author Chas Newkey-Burdens work has been translated into
nine languages. He is the coauthor with J ulie Burchill.

C. Review
As we all know, Michael J ackson was a famous pop-star. He was good at dancing
and singing. And Michael J ackson was born on the evening of 29 August 1958 in
Gary, Indiana. The summer of 1958 was rich in births of future American pop idols.
Prince was born in Minnesota in J une, and Madonna in Michigan in August, just
thirteen days prior to Michael. Also, Michael J ackson was particularly mesmerizing,
singing with soulfulness beyond his years and dancing so well that Brown himself
would have been proud of the youngster. It was an unnatural environment for the band
to perform in. Michael J ackson introduced each band member in turn and they then
performed Tobacco Road. Michael J ackson was so unnerved by the silence which
greeted the conclusion of the set.

This book talks about Michael J ackson. The description and the content are funny
and easy to read. And the book contains some photos of Michael J ackson. So, I think
this book is interesting to student.

And I like two matters Michael J acksons 1988 feature length collection of short
films and Michael J ackson bought Neverland a ranch in California that was to
become his private playground in later year And you can borrow this book in library.

In a lifetime that spanned just over three decades, Bruce Lee accomplished
much more than most people do in twice that time. Lee set his sights high early in
life, appearing in twenty films during his childhood alone. Though years of
determined effort and single-minded devotion to his work, Lee became known
around the world in martial arts, in the movie industry, and in popular culture. By
his mid-twenties, Bruce Lee had become a household name.

And who is Bruce Lee? He is Lee Little Dragon, a man who known around
the world in martial arts circles.

C. Review
This is a review on BRUCE LEE- Words from a Master. It was written by
J ohn R. Little who is also the author of the Warrior Within and many other books
and articles on Lees life and philosophy.

Although Bruce Lee is a well-known person all over the world, I didnt
know him much and I just know that he is famous around the world in martial arts.
After reading this book, I found that he was known around the world not only in
martial arts, but also in the movie industry, and in popular culture.

I love to read this book. Because of this book, I know more about Bruce Lee

He was one of a kind.

In this book, there were many unforgettable quotes for me and this is just

for me.

Also, this book describes Bruce Lee theyll never find somebody as good

1. Book Title: Anne Frank
2. Author: J onathan A. Brown
3. Type of book/ Genre: non-fiction
4. Publisher: World Almanac Library

A. Introduction of the author, publisher of the book
Anne Frank is written by J onathan A. Brown who has a broad background in
writing and editing. The publisher of this book is world Almanac Library which
launched a series of books called trailblazers of the Modern World. Anne Frank is one
of the books in this series.

B. Description/ Brief summary
Anne Frank is a book which closely examines the life of Anne frank. Anne
Frank is a J ewish teenager living in the Netherlands whose tells the intimate
encounter with the Holocaust. Although Frank and her family hid from the Nazis
during world War, they were eventually found, and Frank died in a concentration
camp. She left behind a diary. However, for readers around the world, it has just
provided a moving account of one young persons courageous struggle to keep alive
and her hopes and dreams in face of great danger.

The most tragic plot is that after the war, the Dutch government arrested and
punished people who had delivered J ews to their Nazi tormentors. The government
investigated the betrayal of the Franks but never had enough information to make any
formal accusations. Since then, a person who betrayed the Franks and her friends as
the warehouse foreman, a neighbor, and the wife of an Opekta employee. After that,
frank, her family and her friends were arrested. This plot is so tragic and outrageous,
because Frank was arrested, she died soon. It is really tragic.

C. Review
Anne Frank is a good book for all of us to read. The structure of this book is good.
The author put the different happenings into different chapters, such as chapter 1 is
living with fear and chapter 2 is early life in Germany. It is very clear that the author
used some grids to make the main point about Ann Franks live. I like this structure
very much. Besides, the book is so colorful because the book used color printing.
There were many colorful pictures. It is so attractive. However, this book is quite
difficult to understand. While I am reading this book. I often need to check the
dictionary. Yet, the book is good and touching.

I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to
confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support. In
Annas speech. We can see that Anna is so helpless and loneliness. It is clever that the
author used Annas speech to show that Anna was so helpless and loneliness. Also, the
author quoted Annas speech to show that it is so hopeless and dark on that time. All
the time, the furnace with a huge flame. You smelled the scorched flesh. And
everywhere you saw the despair. It was a terrible, hopeless existence. It is a tragic
speech.

Anne Frank is a good book to read. You will know more about the history and
Anna Franks life after reading this book.

1. Book Title: Who was William Shakespeare?

3. Type of book/Genre: Biography
4. Publisher: Grosset & Dunlap
A. Introduction of the author, publisher of the book
This series Who was William Shakespeare was published
by Grosset & Dunlap and it was written by Celeste Davidson
Mannis. The book was published in 2006. We can find out more
about the real William Shakespeare in this fun and exciting illustrated biography!

B. Description/Brief summary
This book title is Who was William Shakespeare? We can only know William
Shakespeare is great playwright, poet in English Renaissance, and he is a Humanism
literature writer from the European Renaissance period. He lived four hundred and
fifty years ago, and wrote more than one hundred and fifty poems and at least
thirty-five plays. William Shakespeare is very famous. His masterpieces include four
tragedies and many comedies. The most famous are Midsummer Nights Dream and
The Merchant of Venice. Ben J onson said he is Soul of the Age. And Marx said he
is the best of drama founder. Although Shakespeare writes in English, most of his
works have been translated into many languages and shown in many countries. But
unluckily, he died on 3
rd
March.1616.

C. Review
William Shakespeares life is important for people. He was born in 1564. His
family was rich. He studied in a Literary school where he mastered the basic skills of
writing and has rich knowledge, but because of his father bankruptcy, he couldnt
graduate. He was living alone but finally he became famous in the world.
The book describes his life, making us know more about him. The
Shakespeare family lived in Stratford-upon Avon, England, where no more than
twenty-five hundred people lived there. When Shakespeare was just a few months old,
a horrible illness swept through the country. Over two hundred people in Stratford
died. Luckily, Shakespeare survived. I think Shakespeare is extraordinary and thanks
to God, if Shakespeare died in this outbreak, we would have lost a very great
playwright and poet. Shakespeare studied in Kings new school, and school days were
long, starting at six oclock in the morning and ending at six oclock in the evening.
Wills only days off were Sundays, market days and holidays. I think Wills childhood
was very hard, but maybe because of this Shakespeare had some hardworking spirit,
in which he could write many famous dramas including The merchant of Venice. In
1582, when Shakespeare was eighteen, he married Anne Hathaway, an older woman
who was twenty six at the time. Shakespeare left Stratford for London to make his
fortune roughly four years later. By 1596, Shakespeare was successful as a playwright
that his family was finally granted a Coat of Arms, which amongst all the things
Shakespeare could call himself a gentleman. Shakespeare even said Better a wiffy
fool than a foolish wit and The time of life is short; to spend that shortness basely. It
would be too long. They made me learn something.
William Shakespeare is a colorful figure in play history, no one can avoid
being influenced by his works. His deeds will remain immortal and we will admire
him as brighter stars which flash in darkness forever.

1. Book Title: Who was Elvis Presley?
2. Author: Geoff Edgers
3. Type of book/Genre: Biography
4. Publisher: The Penguin Group

A. Introduction of the author, publisher of the book
Edgers is a reporter for the living/arts section, covering arts and culture. His beat
ranges from music and museums to popular culture. His work has appeared in wired,
GQ, and spin magazines. For the publisher, the Penguin Group is currently the largest
trade book publisher in the work, overtaking random house in 2009.

B. Description/Brief summary
Elvis Presley was called the king. Thats because Elvis Presley ruled rock and
roll. There were other singers in the 1950s, but nobody like Elvis Presley. He looked
different. He greased up his black hair and grew long sideburns. He wore whatever he
wanted. Even pink pants with black stripes looked cool on Elvis. And, boy, he could
dance. He was born in Tupelo, Mississippi during the Depression. He grew up with
the Blues of the rural South, the gospel music of local churches, and the
country-western classics. But he forged a sound all his own and a look that was all his
own too. With curled lip, swiveling hips, and greased pompadour, Elvis changed
popular music forever, ushering in the age of rock and roll.

C. Review
Elvis Presley is the principal character. This book is about his life. Elvis Presley
listened to those black singers, mainly from records other kids had. And he loved that
music. Rhythm and Blues helped make Elvis Presley a big star. He sang R&B in his
own special way. Girls screamed when he stood onstage and wiggled his hips. Boys
tried to look like him. Parents were upset. They didnt like this new music. They
thought Elvis was too wild, but there was no turning back. He sold out concerts. He
became a movie star. And when he died more than thirty years ago, Elvis Presley left
behind millions of fans who still miss him. Many tours now still at his home,
Graceland.
It makes me feel that when Elvis Presley was still alive, he was a brilliant singer. I
think that this authors particular style is very careful. He can tell us all the details we
want. This book is a detailed record of the life of Elvis Presley. Meanwhile, there are
many pictures in book, making it is easy to read.
Elvis Presley once said, adversity is sometimes hard upon a man, but for one man
who can stand prosperity, there are a hundred that will stand adversity. I agree with
him, and this is our attitude towards life.
However, perhaps the pictures can be colorful which is better than black and white.
But this is undoubtedly a good book .I will recommend this book to my classmates.

1. Book Title: Boy Tales of Childhood
2. Author: Roald Dahl
3. Type of book/ Genre: Biography
4. Publisher: Penguin Group

A. Introduction of the author, publisher of the book
Roald Dahl was born in 1916 in Wales to Norwegian parents. He was educated in
England before starting to work for the Shell Oil Company in Africa. This book was
published in the United Stated of America by Farrar, Strauss and Giroux 1984.

B. Description/ Brief summary
Roald write this book for Alfhid, Elise, Aster, Ellen and Louis, who are his love
ones. The book is about the funny childhood of Roald. Many remarkable things did
happen to Roald Dahl when he was a boy, no doubt providing some of the marvelous
ideas for his later books. Dahls childhood tales are not omissible. He has written
about his parents, his kindergarten time, and when he was studying in Llandaff
Cathedral School, St. Peters and Renton and Shell. This book contains fun and
interesting things about Roald. It is like a diary by him. However, it is the throughout
his young days at school and a number of things happened to him that he has never
forgets.

C. Review
I think he has a great memory and he can write a book about his childhood. It is
very impressive because I cannot really remember a thing when I was a child. Roald
Dahl had recorded every single thing when he was a child. This book is also like a
journal or dairy. Unlike many books, he adds his own feeling in every story. It makes
reader understand more about him. This book not only includes interesting pictures
which Quentin Blake, the illustrator of this book, drew, but also many photos taken in
Roalds childhood.

My favorite part of this book is Sweet. Roald is alike to us when we were children
because he always went to the sweetshop. It reminds me that I also went to the
sweetshop very often in the past and NOW! Roalds dream is funny, he said, my
hope, my longing was to have a bike like that and go whizzing down the hill with no
hands on the handlebars. It would be fabulous. The back of the book says,
Throughout my young days at school and just afterwards, a number of things
happened to me that I have never forgotten. I think maybe we should reflect on our
childhood closely and record it in a notebook. It is a reminder for us! When you are
reading this book, you will think back. I suggest you read this book if you would like
to know about the childhood of Roald.

1. Book Title: Twister on Tuesday

3. Type of Book/Genre: Youth Fiction
4. Publisher: Magic Tree House

A. Introduction of the author, publish of the book?

Mary Pope Osborne (born May 20, 1949) is an American children's book author.
She is best known for her award-winning and bestselling Magic Tree House series,
which has been translated into over 20 languages and sold over 53 million copies.

B. Description/Brief Summary:

Twister on Tuesday is about two main characters, J ack and Annie. They find a
Magic Tree-House in the woods. And they have been magical librarians, so they need
to find four special kinds of writing. They have already found two kinds of writing.
Then, they should go to Kansas prairie in 1870s. When they find the writing, they met
a dugout where inside is an old school, three students, a young teacher and also a
twister. At last, they get saved and help three students and the young teacher.

C. Review:

In this book, we can know more about the Kansas prairies, wagon trains, dugouts,
storm cellars and twisters. This book brings much daily knowledge to children and
teenagers through the story. For example, the author provides history about the U.S
government and lifestyle for pioneers. Also, we can learn more about the attitude of
getting along with people from their characters.

Twister on Tuesday is one among in the Magic Tree House series. Magic Tree
House brings J ack and Annie into an enjoyable adventure with different experience,
but by the dint of some animals and others help, they are always safe to go back
home. This series is easy to understand. The plot is excellent, and also the English is
simple to understand, so it is suitable for children and teenagers.

About the book author, Mary Pope Osborne, she created The Magic Tree House.
Rotating strangely around the tree house, J ack and Annie arrived in a world, which is
the future, now and the past that author had already set. Beside that, Osbornes words
are simple and she can appeal readers fun. But at the same time, the two characters
are too easy to get help and get saved. So the exciting plots are too short.

In addition, Osbornes other book, Earthquake in the Early Morning is detailed in
writing down how the two characters get saved in an earthquake. It also has many
thrilling scenes.

All in all, it is a good book for all children and teenagers to have an opportunity
to read, because we can learn more English vocabulary about and different countries,
culture or history though this series. Also, this book has some pictures that can help
children imagine the scene and set the massage that author wants to say. Finally, this
book or this series is easy to be found from the public libraries and the price is
HK$200. I strongly recommended this book t o all children and teenagers.

the seven Dwarfs. She lived with seven Dwarfs happily in the forest but the queen
knew Snow White was still alive and tried to harm Snow White again but had not
succeeded. After that, Snow White met the handsome prince and fell in love with him.

C. Review

This is a well-known story written by Grimm Brothers, J acob and Wilhelm
Grimm. It is a kind of children fiction and this story was made into a 1937 American
animated film.

The story is about the main character Snow White who is as white as snow and
as beautiful as a butterfly. Snow White has a stepmother, the queen. The queen is
jealous of Snow Whites beauty and finds a huntsman to kill Snow White.

My favorite part of this story is when the huntsman was told to kill Snow White
and Snow White escaped into the forest and she took refuge in the forest in the house
of seven Dwarfs. And the seven Dwarfs grew to love their unexpected visitor, who
cleaned their house and cooked their meals. But one day while the Dwarfs were
finding their diamond mine, the queen arrived at the cottage. She disguised as an old
peddler woman and persuaded Snow White to bite into a poisoned apple!!

Oh! The devil killed Snow White? If you want to know what will happen to
Snow White then, read the book by yourself!

My favorite characters are the seven Dwarfs as they are cute and helpful. Also,
they helped Snow White and let Snow White live with them too.

It is an interesting and wonderful story. The words are easy to understand too.
The book cover and the book title attract me to read this book and I only read this
book within a night because the story is so exciting and I couldnt stop reading till the
end. Finally, I want to recommend this book to all of you especially my family, my
friends and my classmates. Hope you will like it too.

C. Review:

J ack and Annie are brave children. They found the tree house which was filled with
books, and they wanted to go to China. And their mother said, Great, have fun! J ack
didnt know if it would be fun. Its really a dangerous trip. When they were ready to
go to China, they found a book with Chinese writing on it. The title was The Time of
the First Emperor.

When they were in China, they no longer wore jeans, T-shirts, and sneakers.
Instead, they were baggy pants, loose shirts, straw shoes, and round hats. Annies shirt
had a pocket in it. Over 2000 years ago, China was ruled by its firer emperor. Because
he chose the dragon to be his symbol, he was called the Dragon King. In China,
dragons are seen as brave and handsome. Next, J ack and Annie ran around the

sight. Next, The Dragon King forced many of his subjects to start building a wall to

1. Book title: Z for Zachariah
2. Authors Name: Robert C. OBrien, Retold by Peter Hodson
3. Type of Book/ Genre: Children, Science fiction
4. Publisher: Macmillan

A. Introduction of the author, publisher of the book

Robert C. OBrien is a famous writer in writing childrens literature and fantasy.
Z for Zachariah is written by Robert C. OBrien in 1975, retold by Peter Hodson. The
publisher of this book is Heinemann.

B. Description/ Brief Summary:

Nuclear bombs exploded and killed millions of people. Radioactive pollution
killed all the people, animals, birds, trees and grass. The water in the rivers was
polluted. The radioactive world was dead and silent. But somewhere, someone was
alive and well. She was Ann Burden. She was the only person alive after the war. She
lived in a valley in the Middle West of the United States. One day, there was a man
came into the valley. At the beginning, they lived very well. But after a year, the man
changed and became troublesome. Ann was very frightened and wanted to leave the
valley.

This book is so exciting. The most impressing plot is when Mr. Loomis tried to
kill Ann. Ann had lost her house, Faro (her dog), the tractor and the store. She thought
she must be strong. She went and asked Mr. Loomis for the key to the store. When she
came back the house, she shouted Mr. Loomiss name. At first, nothing happened.
Then there was a loud noise and a pain in her right leg. She knew that Mr. Loomis had
shot her. And then, she began to run and Mr. Loomis followed her. This plot made me
feel nervous. When I was reading this story, I thought that I was Ann. It made me feel
excited.

C. Review:

Z for Zachariah is a good book for children and teenagers to read. In terms of the
entire book, the structure is good. The story coordinates the five story elements:
exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution. It makes the audience
understand the story easily. Also, there were many urgent circumstances. It makes the
audience feel excited and never feel bored. Besides, the theme of this book is so
creative. The writer used a good background---a war. Also, the only one woman in the
world is an attractive theme. Moreover, the words in this book are simple. It is not
difficult to understand. But, there is one thing in the book which can be improved.
The pictures of this book are not colorful. I think if they are colored pictures, it will be
better. Over all, the book is good.

I have read a book called The war of the worlds which written by H. G. Wells.
These two books talk about the end of the world. But Z for Zachariah is easier to
understand. Also, there are some pictures in the book. On the contrary, The war of the
worlds is more exciting than Z for Zachariah. But there are many difficult words in
the book, so it is difficult to understand. Overall, I like Z for Zachariah the most.

Z for Zachariah is a wonderful book and I want to recommend this book to you.
This book is published by Heinemann and you can find this book in the library. If you
want to buy this book, the book only costs HK$50 in the Commercial Press. You must
read this book in your life!

C. Review:

The book is written by Dan Greenburg. He wrote lots of stories, and the Zack
Files is a very famous story worldwide and shot to TV adventure story .Children and
adults are the intended audience of this book. In addition, Liu J ing Yan and Huong
Zhao Hong provide the introduction in this book. Liu J ing Yan thinks that he can
share story about fantasy among children. He recommends the book to all parents.
When I read the cover of the book, it attracts me. The pictures are funny and beautiful.

Zack is the principal character. The story is about his adventures and his
interesting daily life. The motifs are Zack with Bozo the clone. The story ending is
unexpected. I love this ending very much.

However, I think that the beginning of the story is too complicated. But, I think
this book is different from an adventure story, because this has a good sense of humor.
Moreover, the book has many odd story ideas. Maybe you will think that is magical,
but it is not. This will easily arouse readers curiosity. I will recommend Bozo the
clone or The Zack Files to everyone, because children could gain some valuable
concepts from the books.

The main characters in this book are very important because they help find the
prince and the kidnapped king as the title said. The kidnapped king is not the main
character but his son, the prince - Sammi. After his father is kidnapped, the king
hasnt showed his appearance ever again. Dick and his mother are friendly to Sammi,
even they dont know that Sammis father had been kidnapped. For Rth and J osh, they
dont stand out very much as Sammi is living in Dinks house. The dog-pal stands out
in the story and it is the main character in this story. Pal slowly touched the climax as
he keeps on finding the yellow glass that Sammi uses to make a trail.

There are simple French words in this book that we can learn. The word yellow in
French jaune, which is also a clue to find Sammi. Sammi only takes the yellow glass
to make a trail because he wants Dink to know Sammis tutor, J oan is the kidnapper.
So yellow glass stands for J oan and the J ell-o also stands for J oan. It is very
clear for Dick and his friends to know that theres something wrong with J oan.

I think it is done well that jaune and J ell-O have a relationship to J an. It helps us
to figure out who the kidnapper is and as we read, we can keep up with the climax as
one and one yellow glass appear. I think the title is not suitable for this story as the
king never appears in the story. Also, when Sammi appears, I have already known that
his father-the king has been kidnapped. I dont think it is a good thing to know Sammi
is a prince so quickly. There is one more thing that Sammi might already know
someone will kidnap him but he doesnt have really much protection as the lock of the
door is broken.

same parks or eat in the same restaurants. When Martin was a toddler, his best friend was a

happy family man. He loved preaching to his black congregation and he was good at it. His
sermons were full of knowledge and passion as he described how life might be in a more equal
world.
The city authorities discovered an obscure law that banned boycotts. Martin was arrested and
fined. But black people were not willing to give in, so the boycott continued. Then the car-pooling
system was declared illegal. The police arrested Martin again for helping to organize it. As
Martins trial began, a reporter rushed in with dramatic news. The Supreme Court had declared
that the bus segregation that kept black and white people apart went against the constitution of the
United States. This meant that black and white people had equal rights on the local buses. The
