The format of our courses
We offer four separate &3'T+ courses at different times throughout the year. 3ach course
takes place on different days of the week and at different times of the day.
Format #1 ( .art(time over 14 weeks on Tuesdays & !ridays all day each day#
Format #2 ( .art(time over 14 weeks on Tuesday and !riday evenings and all day Saturday
Format #3 ( !ull(time over - weeks from Tuesday to !riday all day each day#

We provide you with a number of teaching ideas and techni7ues and discuss various
aspects of language awareness.

We provide you with feedback5 either on the previous day8s lessons or on lessons that
have 9ust been completed.
1 teaching %ractice session
:ou will teach part of a teaching practice session either on the first or second day of the
course5 and you will usually continue to teach every other day of the course from then
on5 depending on the number of trainees in your group#.
When you are not actually teaching you must observe your fellow trainees8 teaching5 and
you will usually be given a task to complete in order to focus your observation.
The length of the individual teaching slots within teaching practice sessions will be
either forty or forty five minutes.
:ou will teach at least two different levels of learner a low and a high level# over the
duration of the course; a total of si< hours.
'rou% lesson %lanning
3ach trainee must plan their own contribution to teaching practice sessions but sessions
lessons# must tie together in a coherent way for the sake of the learners#. *ence the
need for group lesson planning. We will assist you with this5 both individually and as a
group5 but the level of support we provide will decrease as the course goes on.

Course&or"
:our coursework is the second assessed component of the course the first being your
teaching practice# and it primarily consists of6
&ritten assignments
:ou must complete four written assignments on the following sub9ects6
+dult learning
+ study of different groups of learners.
The 3nglish language system
'anguage awareness5 i.e.5 grammar5 synta< and le<is.
'anguage skills
0eading5 writing5 listening and speaking.
&lassroom teaching
+n e<tended lesson evaluation.
Lesson %lans an# self-e*aluations
:ou must complete lesson plans and post(lesson self(evaluations for each teaching
practice session in which you participate as a teacher.
6 hours #irecte# obser*ation
:ou must observe e<perienced teachers8 teaching for a total of si< hours. We will
organise this for you and you will be given observation tasks to complete. We will give
you deadlines for these observation assignments to help you manage your time.
1 course %ortfolio
:ou must maintain a portfolio of your progress throughout the course. The content of
this portfolio is an important sub(component of your assessment by the e<ternal
&ambridge 3S=' assessor at the end of the course.

We will occasionally give you written pre( or post(teaching practice session homework
which you must also complete.
Assessment
+ssessment is ongoing and each course is moderated by an e<ternal assessor appointed by
&ambridge 3S='. There is no final e<amination.
144> attendance is e<pected. ?f you are absent for a day5 you can catch up on the work you
will have missed5 but if you are absent for more than a day5 it will begin to affect your chances
of success. ?n this case we will advise you of the options available to you.
+s it is possible to fail the course we will provide you with regular feedback on your progress
and will advise you on which areas re7uire more work and how best to go about it.
'rou%s an# tutors
?ndividual groups consist of a ma<imum of 2% participants5 but the average is between 12 and
1@. We provide one tutor per ) candidates which always means every course is staffed by a
minimum of 2 tutors. We will divide you into sub(groups so that you have the opportunity of
working with different tutors over the duration of the course.
Time management
The course is stressful5 but if you8re organised and manage your time well you should be fine.
:ou need to be able to work as part of a team because you will be planning lessons with your
fellow trainees and giving them feedback on their teaching. 0eflection on your own and
others8 teaching practice is a very important element of the course.
?f you opt for the full(time course5 you should not have any other work commitments or you
simply wonAt have time to get everything done.
?f you opt for the part(time course5 we recommend that you donAt work more than 14 hours a
week.
The course provides 124 contact hours. &ambridge recommends a further 124 hours of
outside(course study B about 14 hours a week for part(time courses and between 2% ( $4 hours
a week for full(time courses.

:ou must pay the non(refundable -44 GC. deposit to secure your place on a course. .lease
contact our school manager Seden sedenDiti(istanbul.com# for advice on how to pay the
deposit. She can also inform you about the various ways in which you can pay the remaining
balance %-4 GC.#.
Pre%aration
2pon receipt of your deposit payment we will email you three things designed to help you
prepare for the course.

1# Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the General /oodle course.
2# :ou may now create a new account for yourself or login if you already have a
/oodle account with us#.
$# ?f you opt to create a new account you must then check your email and click
on a link in the body of the message. :ou may need to wait up to $ minutes
for the message to arrive#. &licking on this link completes the account
creation process and also logs you in to the system.
%# :ou may now enrol on your course by entering your /oodle enrolment key.
Pre-course tas"
Cefore your interview5 you will have already completed one section of the pre(course
task. !or the remainder5 write your answers in a new word processor document using
=pen=ffice or Word#. Save it in Windows G@F2444FH. Word format .doc#5 log in to the
General /oodle course and upload the completed task .doc file# using the link provided
( the site will give you guidance on how to do this. 0emember to include your name
within the file name. :ou may then check your answers with the answer key available
to download from the General /oodle # and if you have any 7uestions ask them in the
pre(course task forum also part of the General /oodle#. :ou will be re7uired to put a
hard copy of your pre(course task in your portfolio.
The pre(course task is designed to help you prepare for the course. +lthough it is not an
assessed assignment5 it is essential that you complete it.
