No* a dayCs strong and e&&i#ient #apital and &inan#ial institutions are t%e basi#
re0uirements o& ea#% #ounty. So no #ountry #an be #onsidered strong *it%out %aving
strong enoug% #apital and &inan#ial institutions and mar$ets. -ne o& t%e #omponents
o& t%ese &inan#ial institutions are t%e ban$s. No one #an deny t%e role t%e ban$s are
playing in t%e e#onomi# development o& a #ountry.
'n (a$istanCs ban$ing se#tor) .B/ is one o& t%e leading #ommer#ial ban$s. 3ery
reno*ned ban$ers su#% as '.'. ,%undrigar and Aga% !assan Abidi establis%ed .B/ in
8?<?. From t%e very beginning) .B/ *as s%o*ing very good per&orman#e but in
8?9; a&ter t%e nationali1ation o& #ommer#ial ban$s) t%e ban$ %as re#eived some very
severe &inan#ial s%o#$s. T%e s%o#$s re#eived in 8??< *ere so severe t%at SB( %ad to
assume t%e #ontrol o& t%e ban$ in order to save it &rom ban$rupt#y. But a&ter ta$ing
over t%e management o& t%e .B/ by t%e ne* setEup under t%e leaders%ip o& Gubyr
Soomro) t%e ban$ *as su##ess&ul in rebuilding its s%attered image. T%e ne*
management started ne* s#%emes and in+e#ted ne* #on#epts in order to improve its
servi#es to t%e #lients. No* t%e ban$ is in very good &inan#ial position and also %as
gained its lost 7ood*ill.
My t%ree mont%s interns%ip in .B/ Main bran#% Bannu) gave me a very good deal o&
t%e pra#ti#al experien#e about t%e ban$) its personnel and various servi#es it o&&ers to
t%e #lients. Alt%oug% t%ree mont%s duration &or studying organi1ation by no means is
enoug% but ' %ave tried my ever best to #over all t%e areas o& t%e ban$ in my report.

Administrative problems dire#tly relates to t%e employees. ' personally
&eel and also %eard t%e employees dis#ussing about t%e timing o& t%e
ban$. T%ese timings *ere not very #onvenient o& t%e employees #oming
&rom ruler and subEurban areas. 't *as very di&&i#ult &or t%em to attend t%e
o&&i#e as early. T%e under development o& t%e #ountry also #annot %elp
peoples to over#ome t%is problem be#ause t%e mean o& transportation and
#ommuni#ation are not up to standard. T%e employees o&ten donCt %ave
t%eir o*n #onveyan#e and i& t%ey missed t%e buss t%ey #annot enter t%eir
names in t%e good boo$ o& in #%arge.
T%e se#ond problem related to t%e time &a#tor *as t%e duration o& t%e
*or$ing) *%i#% is very 8ong and boring &or t%e employees regarding t%e
type o& *or$ t%ey are bound to do. A##ount *or$s i& #ontinued t%e
daylong irritates t%e person *%o %ad no time &or re&res%mentHlun#%)
*%i#% is in a normal routine o& t%e ban$s t%at an employ remains busy
rottenly till late at nig%t.

experien#e stu&& is no* retired t%roug% 7!S S#%emes and ne* stu&& is
not re#ruited. No* t%e same amount o& *or$ is done by lesser number o&
employees and t%e burden per employee is in#reased.
Alt%oug% t%e #omputer &a#ilities are available *it% every bran#% but t%ey
are not utili1ed properly be#ause o& t%e unavailability o& t%e #omputer
programmers.

illiterate businessmen. T%ey do not $no* t%e real pro#edure o& #as%
transa#tion and #reates various problems &or t%e ban$ employees. Some
times t%ey as$ very &alse 0uestion &or not%ing during t%e busy %ours.
't is a normal routine &or t%em to bring t%eir &riends also %aving a %ope
t%at t%ey *ill be o&&ered a #up o& tea *it% some s*eet. T%e main problem
&a#ed by t%e managers o& t%e ban$ &or *%i#% %e %as no solution is t%at
t%ese illiterate visitors #ome to t%e o&&i#e and t%e managers &rom out side
pla#es &or example /a%ore and ara#%i et# &or t%eir #lients re#eive use
telep%ones.

use stationary and envelops &re0uently. 'lliterate #lients entered t%e ban$
in t%eir routine *or$ badly and produ#e irritation even t%ey also use t%e
pen o& t%e employees and $ept t%em *aiting &or some time.

Regardless o& it t%at a problem is o& t%e external nature or t%at o& t%e
internal nature) it is ne#essary &or t%e ban$ administration to solve t%em
properly so t%at t%e ban$ #an run better to*ards t%e a#%ievement o& its
predetermine ob+e#tives. .sing t%e proper *ay o& administration #ould
solve bot% t%e problems internal and external.
All t%e employees *or$ing in t%e ban$ may be granted motor#y#le
advan#e) *%i#% may be re#overed into easy installments *it% out interest)
*%ile san#tioning t%e advan#e) period o& t%e servi#es s%ould not be ta$en
into a##ounts it #loses t%e *ay &or a ne*ly re#ruited employee. Also t%ere
s%ould be one or t*o tea brea$s &or t%e relaxation o& t%e employees
during t%e *or$ %ours.
Approximately one or t*o #ler$s may be appointed ot%er t%en t%e
san#tioned strengt%) so t%at on t%e time *%en one ta$es leave #ould be
repla#ed by t%e person in extra. T%is may #ause some &inan#ial problems
to t%e ban$ &or *%i#% an institution al*ays tries to get side o&&. But it *ill
