OIL; The Truth Behind the Iraqs War
Around the world many countries like North Korea, Syria, Saudi Arabia, etc,
have been trying to develop weapons of mass destruction; terrorism is
everywhere; every morning people just expect to watch death and violence on
the news but who really knows the reasons of the war? United States one of
the biggest potencies of the world has been in several wars fighting for the
benefit of the country. But what about the Iraqs war? Is America really
fighting for the benefits of the country? For American people? Since years ago
oil is the most important natural resource that a country could have; it gives
power, supremacy and money. The American Government has manifested lot
of issues that supposedly have incited the Iraqs war like the terrorist groups,
the violence this country lives, Saddam Husseins regime, etc. Nevertheless
most people agree that main reason of the war is Iraqs oil; however the
weapons of mass destruction and the terrorism also was factors to more
problems even though these are financed by the oil industry which is still being
the main reason of this warfare.
Iraq is situated in a strategic place in the Middle East; this country has one of
the largest oil reserves in the world and its economy is based in this natural
resource

. In this sense the oil is the only reason that United States has to start
war against Iraq; It is because the war will be super expensive for America more
than it could hope to regain from the control of the oil. Another important fact is
that Iraqs oil supports terrorist groups in this area like Al Qaeda and the
develop of weapons of mass destruction.
Before the war started United States promised to Iraq that they would not take
control over their oil even though the oil has created many rumors and
speculations about America and especially about president George W. Bush
like who will manage Iraqs oil? Iraqi oil fields will be controlled by private
business or by the government? Iraqs economy is based in its oil business that
is why Iraqi people are worried about what could happen with it; some people
say that Iraq should sell the oil reserves because this way would be good to
make money and improve or develop Iraqs economy and their conditions; the
problem is the fear with this it is that if the Iraqi government takes control of the
oil they could change their minds and take advantage of it.
In the other hand president Bush saw in the events of September 11, 2001, the
beginning of the World War III and he reacted; because he did not want a

dictator like Saddam Hussein that support terrorism and the creation of brand
new weapons of mass destruction that could affect not just Iraq and its
neighbors but the rest of the world.
Most specialist have said that the way US troops act in oil fields make people
think the priority for Bush and the real cause of this war is the oil; if America
owns the Iraqs oil this might be cheaper for American consumers and it could
be an advantage for American economy. American people agree that their
country should not interfere in other countries conflicts. Economist not just from
America but from another countries agree that the only reason they see behind
this war is that it would be expensive for United States and if they can control
the oil reserves in Iraq it would be easier to pay all the damages that the war
left. Since Bush inauguration in 2001 he had thought about make plans to
manage Iraqs oil because he knew all the advantages it could bring for the
country; this means these ideas of war where in Bushs mind way before the
terrorist attacks of September 9, 2001; and this was just a fact to claim war
against Iraq.
So, the most possible option that Iraq has in this moment is privatize the oil
business; obviously it is going to be more expensive even for Iraqi people, that
seems like if they do not care about their wealth or probably they do not know
what the real price of the oil is.
Is Iraqs war a strategy that United States created to get the oil of this country?
Or are the weapons of mass destruction the real cause of the war? Or maybe
the terrorism is the real reason of this warfare; it looks that oil is the reason
behind everything because this natural resource could give lot of power and
money; America never found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq so this was
just speculations of the government; terrorism is everywhere not just in Iraq and
United States has not gone to every country to start a war because of this; Iraqi
people still living in the same conditions or maybe worse than before so this
was not because American government wanted to improve their lives; but no
one really knows what this war is about however it seems that this conflict is
hurting many people around the world; and every day the terrorism is increasing
even more; no matter the reasons or causes of a war what really matters is the
consequences this could bring and this war has had many deaths and lost to
both countries. Maybe this is the beginning of the World War III as Busch said
or maybe is just another war that students will study someday but Iraqs war is
real and someone should do something to stop more destruction.
