Telephone Billing System

Synopsis:
Synopsis is a rapid application prototyping tool for designing and developing Windows
applications. Software components are represented by graphical icons that can be quickly
connected to build even complex programs. Base components cover various application areas
including user interface, multimedia, file I!, etc. "he purpose of the pro#ect is to present the
requirement of the $omputeri%ation of "elephone Billing System. "he pro#ect thus calculates
the telephone bills automatically. It does almost every work which is related to automatic
telephone billing connection system via& new connection, customer record modification,
viewing customer records ' all works related to rate of bills, meter readings in addition to bill
calculation and bill generation.
("elephone Billing System) is developed as per seeing the increasing requirement to
speed up the work and incorporate a new work culture. "hus new software has been proposed
to reduce manual work, improving work efficiency, saving time and to provide greater flexibility
and user&friendliness as the system previously followed was totally manual one with lots of
errors. *ethod and system for automatically generating telephone bills that include customer
defined or requested summary information. $ustomer specific data including pricing data and
summary parameters are stored.
+ plurality of records, each record describing a telephone call, is generated. "he record
is received at a billing analysis system, which determines a priced call value for each call using
the record and the customer specific data and determines summary information for the
customer using the record, the priced call values and the summary parameters. + telephone bill
for the customer is generated based on the summary information for the customer. "he bill
may be generated periodically, on a predetermined schedule, or upon demand of the customer.
!nline access to summary information is also provided.

"he course case study is based on software development at the fictional organi%ation,
+cme Inc. ,ike many organi%ations, the success of +cme in the marketplace depends on the
effectiveness of the software they use to drive their business. +cme purchases and deploys
packaged software, but they also design, construct, and deploy a number of their own
speciali%ed applications.
Proposed system
"he new system titled ("-,-./!0- BI,,I01 S2S"-*) was hence proposed to remove all
the drawbacks discussed above. Information is a vital ingredient for the operation and
management of any organi%ation. "hus any system should have the ability to provide error free
filtered information after processing the required data. "his system has been taken up with a
view for developing a more sophisticated system that can be easily handled by any kind of
users. "he proposed system aims at efficient and timely information for decision&making,
integrate with other functions, and reduce redundant work.
Objective of the project
the main ob#ective while implementing the pro#ect "elephone Billing System were to minimi%e
the work and at the same time increase the speed of the work done.
