SCHOOL OF LIFE

Horst Wein presents:

A TOOL FOR EFFECTIVE SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION
with children learn:
to strive for something
Nothing can be achieved
without effort
to identify "space" and how
to exploit it
to dominate a key parameter
for their lives: "time"
with the player
Through commitment becomes more competent and therefore can
be distinguished from those around
Gives all his commitment and ability for the sake of his team
Values the participation and effort of teammates
Learns to respect his opponent, even if, currently, he performs
at a higher level, but without being daunted by him.
Shows resilience in the face of adversity continuing to perform to
his utmost regardless of the result
COOPERATION AND TEAMWORK
Without
teamwork you
cannot reach
the goal:
the individual
serves the
group
Children learn to
support each other in
attack and defence
Since each
team is made
up of only 3
players, each
player depends
on the others
currently being played in 30 countries
TEACHES FAIR PLAY
Comply with the
rules of the game
Resist committing
fouls to gain an
advantage
Accept referee
errors as an
integral part of the
game
Always
congratulate
winning opponents
at the end of the
game
Look after an
injured opponent
rather than take
advantage of his
misfortune
Admit responsibility
after a foul, rather
than try to con the
referee
HELPS COMBAT OBESITY
ENCOURAGING A MORE ACTIVE LIFESTYLE
Children who
play FUNio burn
as many calories
as professional
players
Obesity affects
58% of
Europeans
and 70% of
Americans
Obesity is
associated with
such serious
diseases as
diabetes, cancer,
hypertension and
heart disease

Confidence
grows
through
competence!
allows players to make their own experiences
and learn from their mistakes.
FUNio represents the revival
of street football in the 21st
century, without adult
interference or over-
coaching
Basic game situations are
repeated often which greatly
enhances learning
Mistakes are welcomed as
excellent tools for
improvement
The simplicity of the game
allows a child to self-correct
without the need for adult
feedback
There is no need for constant
instruction as the GAME
itself is the true teacher, not
the coach
helps children to controls their emotions
Fewer players
creates greater
intensity for
children with more
mistakes and
successes,
producing lots of
emotions
Many more goals are
scored than in
professional football
bringing more
emotional highs and
lows helping children to
adapt to them.
The games is
too engrossing
to be
distracted by
outside
influences
Having the ball
always closeby
demands
greater
concentration
Players must
think before
they act and not
just react
emotionally
Anger

Self-control

Maintain

COMMUNICATION
the SOLUTION
Use the power of intelligence
STARTS IN THE HEAD, PASSES THE HEART AND FINISHES WITH THE FEET!
The difference between KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE ?
INTELLIGENCE
Learning is only significant when motor
learning is combined with cognitive learning!

forces players to think ahead before acting,
anticipating possible outcomes, to stay one step
ahead of your opponent

The 4 goals encourage players to perceive,
understand and process all information, find
solutions, to the problems encountered, choose the
best one available and finally execute the skill.

IMPROVED SKILLS OF PERCEPTION
It is essential to train the non-
dominant eye of every young
player by reducing the sensory
input for the dominant-eye
using an eye-patch

Similarly it is important to
reinforce his less able foot or
arm in order to become a more
balanced athlete
STIMULATES CREATIVITY
Fear of making
mistakes limits most
people
The most serious
failure of our
education system is to
emphasize errors
Emphasizing errors
inhibits the creative
ability of young
athletes
Creativity allows you
to develop new
projects and tackle
new challenges
What should a coach
do to encourage the
creativity of his
players?

ACCEPT THE RULES AS PART OF THE GAME
DEVELOP SKILLS AND ABILITIES ACCORDING TO THE RULES
FIT PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEVELOPMENT TO THE RULES
USE THE RULES TO YOUR ADVANTAGE
ENFORCE THE RULES FOR THE GOOD OF THE
GAME
The principle goal of education is to help develop people who
are capable of doing new things and not simply repeating what
other generations have done: people who are creative,
innovative and discoverers.

Dont be afraid to make mistakes. Look how very young children
behave. In our current education system mistakes are the worst
thing you can make, effectively educating people out of their
creative capacities!
CREATIVITY allows us new ideas, innovations, dreams
HELPS PLAYERS SOCIALLY
Consider matches and games as a way to make friends
Support teammates when they are struggling
Keep order and harmony in the group regardless of the outcome
Support and encourage teammates when they make mistakes
Dont tollerate aggression toward teammates and opponents
Dont mock other players, especially after a victory
Dont intimidate teammates physically
Dont discriminate against others based on ability, race or sex
Appreciate the abilities and performance of your opponent
Respect opponents whose performance level does not match your own
Support and encourage teammates through the good and the bad
Accept your role in the team and tasks to be carried out
Consider the result as a consequence of team work
teaches us to live a better life and contributes to the personal
development of all young people. Through active participation, young people learn
to make better use of their free time, and enjoy a better quality of life.
In addition, the game teaches girls and boys to be honest, supportive and
productive, rather than being conditioned by todays negative lifestyle trends,
especially sedentary inactivity. Active., productive and engaged sporting pursuits
can shield children from unrealistic adult expectations which oftern result in
vandalism, violence and crime.
