HR PROFESSIONALS QUALITIES
The HR professional must be open and driven to align the HR functions with the
organization vision. This will ensure that HR is working as a strategic partner by
assisting the organization to meet their goals and vision. HR professional should be good
leader and have the ability to delegate to appropriate constituents. They must be able
to communicate effectively with the different levels of employees - executive
management, middle management, and staff. HR professional must be able to explain their
past experience in leading an HR team professionally and competently to meet
expectations and goals. HR professional are those who shares how they stay ahead of time
by staying on top of state, and local laws. If you're a global organization then they would
need to explain how they would stay informed of laws the particular area the business
is located. You need someone who knows how to stay abreast of all HR facets in order to be
a resource to the organization.
HR professional should have a vision and be capable of visualizing the future so that
he can make the HR policies realistic. He should be able to motivate others to realise
this vision.
He should be an example by himslef instead of asking others to make sacrifices and
should have courage to accept responsibility rather than indulging in blame games.
He should delegate enough authority and freedom to his deputies to transform this
vision into reality rather than concentrating all authority in himself and share credit for
success with his deputies instead of claiming all for himself.
HR professional has to be humble. He must have inculcated in himself a humanistic
way of looking at humans before looking at them legalistically or procedurally. He must
uphold and maintain human dignity at all costs.
He must be able to think out of box solutions/interventions proactively. Presumption of
issues is very important. As HR professionals he must aim at his department as the best
department in the organization in terms of visible discipline and commitment to the
organisation. Must be strong enough to stand up and kick the job instead of just hovering
over the issues.
He must keep abreast about technology and the manufacturing processes of the
company/organisation.
