We welcome to our community of faith Michael Alexander Allen, the son of Michael and Jennifer who will be bapsed with water and the Holy Spirit this weekend. FnoM Tur Pns1ons Drsk... And here we are! The Great Day of Resurrecon has come, and we once again celebrate the foundaon of our identy as Chrisans. Easter Day is really it: because of the empty Cross, and the empty Tomb, we have been redeemed and sent forth to proclaim, endlessly, that Christ is Risen!
Everything ows from today. Everything we do draws its meaning from what we celebrate today. Everything we are ows from the dawning of Christ, the Light of the World. Everything, without excepon, is radically changed because it has been touched by that Light which darkness cannot overcome.
Easter, however, is not just today. Easter is not even just the Season of Easter that extends through to the Feast of Pentecost. Any me we gather it is Easter. Any me the Word of God is proclaimed it is Easter. Any me we celebrate the Sacraments it is Easter. Every bapsm, every marriage, every funeral is a celebraon of Easter.
And so we Chrisans are truly an Easter People. And we are called to live as an Easter People providing an ever present witness to the world that Christ is Risen! Not just today, or this week, but every day of our lives as we live in the Light of the Resurrecon!
On this dayand every daywe say ! !
