Dose society change simply because of anactment and rules.-
Society can be called as cluster of social relationships and hence social change means change in the system of social relationships. These are understood in terms of social processes and social interactions and social organization. According to sociologist Morris Ginsberg social change is a change in the social structure which includes people living that society, their attitudes, values, social institutions, customs, laws and enactment. Out of the above mentioned ingredients of our society and structure, law and enactment are the most important one. Law and enactments in a society act as guiding principles having sanction of sovereign and contribute proactively in social change. For e.g. Sati system which was being prevalent in India for centuries, got eradicated from society mainly due to strict and effective AntiSati Enactments and Laws. However , it would be wrong to believe that only enactment and laws change the society. In India legal abolition of untouchability was made as an attempt to change accustomed social norm. But till today we find it unsuccessful as it has got inadequate social support. Thus it can be inferred that both laws and enactment should have a reciprocate relationship with society and its ingridients.
