Room 165, Arts and Sciences Building 3 Minutes of the Meeting 4 5 6 Last August 12, 2014, the University of the Philippines Cebu Student Council 7 2014-2015 conducted its 16 th official meeting at the UP Basketball Kiosk. The meeting 8 was called to order at 6:12PM with 10 members present and 4 absent. The meeting was 9 presided by the Student Council Vice-Chairperson, Mr. France Kevin Degamo. 10 11 The following were present and arrived on time in the meeting: 12 1. CALL TO ORDER 33 34 The meeting was called to order at 6:12PM. Quorum was established. A 35 time cap of 60 minutes for the whole meeting was set. 36 37 II. AGENDA 38 After the quorum was reached, the meeting was called to order and Vice- 39 Chairperson Degamo presented the following agenda. 40 41 42 A. COOKOUT REMINDERS 43 Director Salera reported that ABS-CBN agreed to advertise Cookout in 44 MagTV na! and Kapamilya Winner Ka on their special anniversary episode on 45 October 18, 2014. Taping will be on September 21, 3 PM. The show requires 40- 46 50 people as audience and participants in the game show. Provided, that 47 Cookout gives a segment for 1 host from KWK and MagTV! Na each. 48 Vice Chair Degamo gave an update on the Hotel Stella agreement. He 49 said the sponsor is willing to give gift certificates worth 56,000 but the council will 50 only earn a rough estimate of P30,000. The sponsor also insisted that Dog Breed 51 will be put under major sponsorship. 52 Director Salera announced that the Cookout teaser will be launched on 53 August 18. Cookout themes will be divided across the four segments: 54 Political shift Bandahan Academic shift Rampahan Environmental shift Sayawan Economic shift Kantahan 55 56 The bands targeted for Cookout are: 57 Skankin Brews 3k Foc Fashion 800 Snubear 1k Band-aid 500 Allah Akbhar Free Fire Dancer Free 2 Vispop 2k in total 2 Dance troupe Free 58 Representative Tidalgo reported that all food sponsorships are still 59 pending and still being forwarded to supervisors. Representative Tidalgo was 60 given new possible food sponsors to contact. 61 Representative Tidalgo was excused at 6:42 pm. 62 Representative Dura reported that a No Overnight Rule was imposed for 63 all Fine Arts students. On Monday, Councilor Ding volunteered to help Rep. Dura 64 to inquire in the Admin about this issue. 65 Representative Matarlo reported that GPN declined to sponsor Cookout 66 this year because they plan to focus on producing films only. FF Sibi accepted 67 the offer, Rep Matarlo will follow up. 68 Rep Gattoc said that Lazada declined to sponsor cameras too. He 69 referred Julies Bakeshop to the food sponsorship committee. 70 Director Salera announced that the Prod Team is considering having 71 Silent Sanctuary to perform in Cookout. TF is P 50,000. 72 B. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 73 Approval of minutes will be done online. 74 C. FRESHMEN AND PARENTS ORIENTATION 75 Representative Balane said he cannot host the Parents Orientation on 76 Friday because he has to work on that schedule. Representative Libres replaced 77 Rep Balane as host together with Rep Gattoc. 78 For Freshmen Orientation, Rep Matarlo and Dingding are chosen as 79 emcees. 80 Vice Chair Degamo requested the Student Council to help Office of the 81 Student Affairs in organizing the orientation events with registration and tapping 82 program heads. Degamo also planned to launch a UP Cebu Freshie Tips 83 campaign video on the Freshmen Orientation featuring the councilors. 84 D. Org Strat Plan 85 Councilor Calderon was chosen as emcee, Vice Chair Degamo as 86 moderator. Student council is requested to help OSA organize. 87 E. PEOPLES CONGRESS 88 Vice Chair Degamo announced that Peoples Congress will meet in 89 Mariners Court on August 23. 90 F. UP SUMMIT 91 UP Summit will be on August 22, 2014 in the AS Lobby featuring Student 92 Reagent Neil Macuha, KASAMA sa UP Eduardo Gabral and NUSP Chairperson 93 Sarah Jane Elago. They will be presenting situationers on the youth, education 94 and national issues. 95 Vice Chair Degamo will reserve the AS lobby and request for alternative 96 class. 97 G. CEBU STUDENTS DIALOGUE 98 The dialogue convened by National Union of Students in the Philippines 99 (NUSP) and Rise 4 Education Alliance will be on August 30. Situationers on 100 Cebu students and Cebuano schools will be presented. 101 H. BUTYAG UPDATE 102 All articles for the Student Councils official paper is due on August 13, 103 2014. Butyags special issue on freshmen orientation will include recruitment for 104 the volunteer corps and a half-page teaser for Cookout. 105 I. Other Matters 106 a. TransparenSC 107 Councilor Calderon plans for the council to launch a transparency 108 campaign for all council meetings and deliberations. The plan was to engage 109 Tug-ani, CommUP, UPS and NKE on all council deliberations. 110 The Student Council through Calderon plans to launch the FOI Cebu 111 Congress in September with University of the Philippines Political Science 112 Society. More details in the Appendix. 113 b. BMI 114 Councilor Dingding announced a Basic Mass Integration project on August 115 16, 2014 with PUJ drivers from Saturday afternoon to Sunday noon. The 116 integration project will include living with drivers as dispatchers and bankers. The 117 venue will be in Mandaue Centro near City Hall. 118 III.
