standard +ith )athematics and Physics as s#Mect for a candidate efficiently stdy them.

A. Application: -- An application for admission to an Examination specified in Rle '
a#o-e/ shall #e made to the Central (o-ernment or to an officer empo+ered #y it/ $n this
#ehalf/ in the form prescri#ed #y the (o-ernment from time to time/ to%ether +ith all the
s#sidiary forms and docments dly filled in and complete in all respect thro%h an
$nstitte appro-ed #y the Central (o-ernment in +hich the candidate had nder%one
practical trainin% prescri#ed #y the Central (o-ernment.
B. Fee for t$e e&amination2 -- A candidate for admission to an examination for the %rant of
certificates specified the Rle ' shall pay fees in the follo+in% scale namely2

84 EXAMINATION:
(1) The examination for the a+ard of (lo#al )aritime *istress and "afety "ystem
certificates specified nder rle ' shall #e held in accordance +ith the terms of the
con-ention and in the manner determined/ from time to time/ #y the Central
(o-ernment +ho shall notify the place at +hich and the date on +hich sch an
examination shall #e held.

(!) Any person admitted to the examination and fond %ilty of impersonation of
s#mittin% fa#ricated docments +hich ha-e #een tempered +ith or ma.in% statements
+hich are in correct or false or sppressin% material information or other+ise resortin% to any
other irre%lar or improper means for o#tainin% admissions to the examination may/ in
addition to renderin% him,herself lia#le to criminal prosection/ #e de#arred either
permanently or for a specified period from appearin% in any of the examination held for
the a+ard of (lo#al )aritime *istress and "afety "ystem certificate specified nder Rle
('). Pro-ided that order nder this rle shall not #e made nless the person has #een %i-en a
reasona#le opportnity of ma.in% a representation a%ainst the action proposed to #e ta.en.
C. /ALI)ITY OF LICENCES2
E-ery &icence specified nder rle ' shall #e -alid for a period of ten years from the
date of isse of the certificate for sch licence.
On the expiry of the initial period of the -alidity of licence nder s#-rle (1) it may
#e rene+ed for a frther period of fi-e years at a time/ if the person to +hom sch licence is
issed.
i) Pays a fee of Rs. AHH,-
ii) =as a total experience of not less than B months +ithin A years immediately
precedin% the date of expiry of a licence and
or
iii) "atisfies the Central (o-ernment #y re-examination or other+ise that he still
possesses all the eli%i#ilities re0ired for isse of the certificate.
$f the holder of a licence/ in the opinion of the Central (o-ernment has +illflly or
ne%li%ently pro-ided incorrect or false information for the prpose of re--alidation of the
licence/ the Central (o-ernment may endorse/ sspend or cancel the licence.
Pro-ided that no order to sspend or cancel the licence nder this rle shall #e made
nless the person concerned has #een %i-en a reasona#le opportnity of ma.in% a
representation a%ainst the action proposed to #e ta.en.
Explanation2- For the prposes of this rle/ the expression NexperienceO means the
experience %ained at a mo#ile station in the )aritime or Aeronatical )o#ile "er-ice sin%
()*"".
E. ISS0E OF )0PLICATE OR REPLACEMENT OF CERTIFICATES AN)
LICENCES2
A holder +hose certificate or licence nder these rles has #een lost/ mtilated or
destroyed shall immediately notify the loss to the Central (o-ernment. A properly exected
application for dplicate certificate shall #e made to the Central (o-ernment em#odyin% a
statement of the circmstances in-ol-ed in the loss/ mtilation or destrction of the
certificate or licence for +hich a dplicate is re0ired. $f the certificate or licence has #een
lost/ the applicant mst state that reasona#le search has #een made for it and frther/ that in
the e-ent it #e fond/ either the ori%inal or the dplicate shall #e retrned for cancellation.

The Central (o-ernment may isse dplicate copy of any certificate or licence on the
payment of Rs. AHH,-.
E. )ISCIPLINE OF OPERATORS2
(1) $f in the opinion of the Central (o-ernment the holders of the Certificate or licence
has +ilflly or ne%li%ently failed to comply +ith the pro-isions of the con-ention/ or
of these rles or of any re%lations la+flly applica#le to him,her in respect of
operation of Radio Apparats the Central (o-ernment may endorse/ sspend or
cancel the certificate.
(!) The Central (o-ernment may nder these rles at any time re0ire the holder of a
certificate of proficiency to prodce the same and the holder shall comply +ith sch
re0isition.
(') The Central (o-ernment may at any time re0ire the holder of a certificate of
proficiency or licence to #e re-examined in order to test his .no+led%e and a#ility
and may as a reslt of sch examination/ endorse/ sspend or cancel the proficiency
or the licence. 3o fee shall #e char%ea#le for sch examination.
(@) E-ery holder of the certificate nder these rles shall o#ser-e secrecy of the
correspondence. A declaration to this effect shall #e made #y sch holder in the
application for admission to the examination for sch certificate2
