IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
While every effort has been made to insure that the prices
listed in this catalog are accurate, Specified Fittings reserves
the right to change any price at any time without prior notice.

PAYMENT TERMS: Invoices are due and payable by 10th prox. following date of
invoice to receive trade discount in effect at any particular time. Purchases and
shipments made after 25th of month will be considered following months purchases.
Payments not received by end of month following date of invoice are subject to a
finance charge commencing at end of month in which invoice is due. Purchaser agrees
to pay a finance charge of 1-1/2% per month (18% annual rate) on all past due invoices.
If purchasers account becomes past due and is placed with an attorney for collection
or suit, purchaser agrees to pay all attorneys fees and court costs. All orders placed
by customers whose accounts are delinquent will be placed on hold until the account is
brought current or other acceptable payment arrangements are made.
ORDER CANCELLATION: Non-standard or specially produced fittings are non-
cancelable once production has begun.
RETURNED GOODS: Goods will not be accepted for return without a returned goods
authorization (RGA) issued by Specified Fittings, Inc. (SFI). A restocking fee and
inbound freight charges will be assessed on all material returned to SFI. Where
appropriate, outbound freight costs will also be assessed. Goods must be returned in
clean condition and sellers count of returned material shall be deemed final. Special
fittings or unreasonably large quantities are not returnable.
FREIGHT POLICY: Specified Fittings will pay freight, within the continental U.S., on
orders over $2000.00 of fittings from 3/4" to 24" in diameter. Fittings over 24" are FOB
factory. With your $2000.00 HDPE order, you can add any of our other PVC products,
full freight allowed.
Seller shall not be liable for failure to deliver nor for any delays in delivery because of
causes beyond sellers control or the control of sellers suppliers.
LOST OR DAMAGED GOODS: All claims for lost and/or damaged merchandise shall be
made by the purchaser to the delivering carrier.
Specified Fittings is now a full line HDPE (PE 3408) fittings and
accessories supplier.
We can fabricate in both IPS and DIPS, in all SDR's.
Our HDPE fittings are made from material designated PE 3408 with
an average cell classification of 345444C according to ASTM D3350.

END CONFIGURATION TERMINOLOGY
Because the stresses are greater on fittings than straight pipe, all fittings are not fully
pressure rated. The general rule is to de-rate fabricated elbows, tees, crosses and caps by
25% to determine their actual working pressure rating (WPR). Wyes are usually de-rated by
55%.
For Example, a tee made out of SDR 11 (160psi) pipe would have an actual WPR of 120psi.
If a higher WPR is needed, the fitting must be made out of a heavier SDR with the ends
mitered to match the pipe being used.
Molded fittings and fittings that do not re-direct the flow, (ie Flange Adapters, MJ Adapters
and Wall Anchors) usually are fully pressure rated.
Since reducers can be made several different ways, their operating pressure must be known
prior to fabrication.
Pressure Rating
Other fittings (ie Cleanout Adapter and Caps over 24" ) are only for non-pressure
applications.
Before ordering HDPE fittings, it is important to know the operating and test pressure, and
any special operating conditions or applications that the fittings will be subjected to.

I NSTALLERS AND USERS:
Within thirty (30) days after noticing the defect,
purchaser/user must notify Specified Fittings, Inc., IN
WRITING, at its corporate offices located at 164 West
Smith Road, PO Box 28157, Bellingham, WA 98228,
of the alleged defect.
Arbitration by third party if agreed by the
parties.
This warranty is effective only for the benefit of the
original purchaser and user and provided the
following procedure is followed. FAILURE TO
ADHERE TO THE REQUIREMENTS OUTLINED
BELOW WILL INVALIDATE THE TERMS OF THIS
WARRANTY.
Mediation by a third party if agreed by the
parties.
Legal recourse with the losing side to pay all
legal fees incurred by both parties.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights
and you may also have other rights, which vary
from state to state.
SFI will replace or repair at its option, any product
established to be so defective, with a product of like
type. Claims for labor costs and other charges
resulting from the use of SFI products are not
covered by this warranty.
SOLVENT WELD CONNECTI ONS -- Use a quality grade of
primer and solvent cement formulated for the type of connection,
with the CORRECT SIZE APPLICATOR. Read and follow all of the
solvent weld manufacturers application and cure time instructions
thoroughly.
THREADED CONNECTI ONS SFI recommends the use of a
quality grade thread sealant. Choice of either Teflon tape, paste, or
other pipe joint compound is at the discretion of the installer. The
manufacturers literature for these products should be reviewed for
proper selection and application procedures. WARNING: SOME
PIPE JOINT COMPOUNDS OR TEFLON PASTES MAY CONTAIN
SUBSTANCES THAT COULD CAUSE STRESS CRACKING TO
PLASTIC. 1 to 2 turns beyond FINGER TIGHT are generally all that
is required to make a sound plastic threaded connection.
Unnecessary OVERTIGHTENING will cause DAMAGE TO BOTH
PIPE AND FITTING.
RECOMMENDATI ONS FOR
Before applying primer and cement, appropriate safety precautions
should be taken. Primer and cement should be stored in the shade
between 40F and 110F. Eliminate all ignition sources. Avoid
breathing of vapors. Use only with adequate ventilation; explosion-
proof general mechanical ventilation or local exhaust is
recommended to maintain vapor concentrations below
recommended exposure limits. In confined or partially enclosed
areas, a NIOSH-approved organic vapor cartridge respirator with
full-face piece is recommended. Containers should be kept tightly
closed when not in use, and covered as much as possible when in
use. Avoid frequent contact with skin; wearing PVA coated
protective gloves and impervious apron are recommended. Avoid
any contact with eyes; splash proof chemical goggles are
recommended.
GASKET CONNECTI ONS Gasket area and pipe or spigot end
should be clean and free of dirt and debris. Do not attempt to
remove the formed-in gasket (Figure 1). Lubricate the entire sealing
surface of the gasket and the pipe or spigot end with a light coating
of a suitable lubricant (Figure 2). Push the pipe or spigot end into
the gasket bell while maintaining a straight alignment. The proper
insertion depth is equal to the total gasket bell length minus one-
half inch (1/2 ) (Figure 3).
Independent third party testing of the alleged
defective product shall be conducted and all costs in
connection with such testing shall be borne by the
party proved incorrect in the allegation.
Upon request by SFI, purchaser/user must
either return the defective fitting(s) to SFI, freight
prepaid, or at the option of SFI, make the defective
fitting(s) available for inspection by a duly appointed
SFI representative. (In the event that the product is
found to be defective because of a manufacturing
error, the freight cost will be reimbursed to the
purchaser/user.)
This warranty pertains only to products that have not
been altered or damaged or used beyond their
intended application. This warranty is in lieu of all
other warranties, express or implied, of the
merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose,
which would otherwise extend beyond the warranties
specified herein. This warranty specifically excludes
incidental or consequential damages of any kind.
However, some states do not allow exclusion or
limitation of implied warranties or incidental or
consequential damages so the above limitation may
not apply to you.
After SFI repairs and/or replaces the product, it will
ship the product back to the purchaser/user, freight
prepaid.
In the event that a dispute arises, the parties agree to
be governed by the conditions outlined below until a
resolution is achieved.
WARRANTY : Specified Fittings, Inc., warrants all
new SFI products against defects resulting from
faulty workmanship or materials for a period of one
(1) year from the date of original purchase.

CAUTION: Unnecessary overtorquing will damage the flange.
FOR GROOVED END, LAP JOINT END, etc., contact factory.
(f) Care must be taken to avoid bending the flange when joining
a flange to a raised face flange, or a wafer-style valve. Do not use
bolts to bring together improperly mated flanges.
(2) Through line connection, cross used as tee
I MPORTANT
(b) With gasket in place, align the boltholes of the
mating flanges by rotating the ring into position.
(Consideration should be given to alignment of one-
piece flange prior to joining with pipe.)
(c) Insert all bolts, washers (two standard flat
washers per bolt) and nuts.
FLANGE CONNECTI ONS Once a flange is
joined to pipe, the method for joining two flanges is
as follows:
(a) Piping runs joined to the flanges must be
installed in a straight-line position to the flange to
avoid stress at the flange due to misalignment.
Piping must also be secured and supported to
prevent lateral movement, which can create stress
and damage the flange.
WATER HAMMER SFI recommends that all PVC and CPVC
plastic piping systems be designed and constructed to AVOID
EXCESSIVE WATER HAMMER. Water hammer can cause damage
and failure to pipe, valves, and fittings within the piping system.
(4) Change in line size, reducer

(d) Make sure the faces of the mating surfaces are
flush against gasket prior to bolting down the
flanges.
(e) Tighten the nuts by hand until they are snug.
Establish uniform pressure over the flange face by
tightening the bolts in 5-ft. lbs. increments according
to the sequence shown in Figure 1 following a 180
opposing sequence.

Types of thrust blocking:
THRUST BLOCKI NG Water under pressure exerts thrust forces
in piping systems. Thrust blocking should be provided, as
necessary, to prevent movement of pipe or appurtenances in
response to thrust.
(7) Direction change
NOTE When temperatures rise above 73F, the tensile strength of
thermoplastics decreases, thereby derating the pipe or fitting
Maximum Internal Pressure. When temperatures fall below 73F,
the tensile strength of thermoplastics increases. However, the
impact strength decreases. Maximum operating temperatures for
PVC piping systems should not exceed 140F (110F threaded
systems). Maximum operating temperatures for CPVC piping
systems should not exceed 200F (150F threaded systems).
CAUTI ON SFI DOES NOT RECOMMEND the use of
thermoplastic piping products for systems to transport or store
compressed air or gases, or the testing of thermoplastic piping
systems with compressed air or gases in above and below ground
locations. The use of SFI products in compressed air or gas
systems automatically voids SFIs warranty for such products and
their use against our recommendation is entirely the responsibility
and liability of the installer. SFI will not accept responsibility for
damage or impairment of its products, or other consequential or
incidental damages caused by misapplication, incorrect assembly,
and/or exposure to harmful substances or conditions.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
TheseTerms and Conditions govern all purchases from Specified Fittings, Inc. (SFI)
1.Shipping and Delivery. All materials areshipped F.O.B. our plant in Bellingham, Washington or aregional distribution warehouse, unless otherwise
specified herein. On PVC and CPVC orders, freight will bepaid on $1000.00 net orders. Freight will bepaid on HDPE orders over $2000.00 for fittings
from to 24 in diameter. Any HDPE fittings over 24 diameter, regardless of theamount of purchase, areF.O.B. factory of origin. On drain basins and
in-linedrains, freight will bepaid on orders over $2000.00, with theexception of basin/drains over 30 diameter and 78 over all length. TheseareF.O.B.
factory. Thesefreight terms excludeall pipe, and arefor shipments to onelocation within thecontiguous forty-eight (48) states. All claims for lost and/or
damaged merchandiseshall bemadeby theBuyer to thedelivery carrier.
Promised delivery dates aresubject to and will beexcused by strikes, accidents, weather, inability to obtain materials and other conditions beyond SFIs
control.
2.Specially Manufactured Goods. All fabricated fittings or special order items may not becanceled or returned.
3.Inspection and Returns. Buyer will inspect all materials at timeof delivery and noteon theBill of Lading any apparent defects. Buyer waives all rights to
reject nonconforming goods with visibledefects if they fail to notetherejected goods on theBill of Lading. Goods will not beaccepted for return without a
returned goods authorization (RGA) issued by SFI. A restocking feeand inbound freight charges will beassessed on all material returned to SFI. Where
appropriate, outbound freight costs will also beassessed. Goods must bereturned in clean condition and SFI count of returned material shall bedeemed
final. Special fittings and unreasonably largequantities arenot returnable.
4.Payment and Taxes. All orders shall beprepaid, or at SFIs option, SFI will mail invoices to Buyer. Invoiceamounts aredueand payableby the10
th
day
following dateof invoice. Any tradediscount in effect at any particular timeand applicableto thetransaction will berevoked if timely payment is not
received. Purchases and shipments made after the 25th of the month will be considered the following months purchases. Payments not received by the
end of the month following date of invoice are subject to a finance charge commencing at the end of the month in which the invoice is due. Buyer agrees to
pay a finance charge of 1 % per month (18% annual rate) on all past due invoices.
OnceBuyer accepts shipment of thegoods, it is obligated to maketheagreed payments to SFI regardless of when and whether Buyer receives
payment from someone else for the goods.
Prices for sales of goods shipped outsideof Washington do not includeany sales or usetaxes. SFI conducts business only in Washington State, and does
not collect or pay the taxes of any other State.
5.Warranties. SFI warrants all new products against defects resulting fromfaulty workmanship or materials for aperiod of oneyear after thedateof the
original purchase. SFI will repair or replace, at its option, any product established to be so defective, with a product of like type. CLAIMS FOR LABOR
COSTS AND OTHER CHARGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OF SFI GOODS AND/OR PRODUCTS ARE NOT COVERED BY THIS LIMITED
WARRANTY. This limited warranty is effective only for the benefit of the original Buyer and user provided the following procedure is followed. FAILURE TO
ADHERE TO THE REQUIREMENTS OUTLINED BELOW WILL INVALIDATE THE TERMS OF THE LIMITED WARRANTY.

SFI DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS WARRANTIES OTHER THAN THOSE CONTAINED IN THE ABOVE PARAGRAPH, AND ALL IMPLIED
WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES THAT EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION ON THE FACE HEREOF, SFI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL,
INDIRECT, INCIDENTIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, BUSINESS
INTERRUPTION LOSSES, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR LOSS OF BUSINESS OR CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS.
Somestates do not allow theexclusion of implied warranties or thelimitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the
aboveexclusion or limitation may not apply to theBuyer. This warranty gives Buyer specific legal rights and Buyer may also haveother rights that vary from
stateto state.
In theevent that adisputearises, theparties agreethat independent third party testing of thealleged defectiveproduct shall beconducted and all costs in
connection with such testing shall beborneby theparty proved incorrect in theallegation pursuant to theresults of thethird party tester.
6.Indemnification. Buyer will indemnify SFI against, and saveSFI harmless from, any and all claims, suits or liability arising frominjuries to property or
persons, including death, and fromany other claims, suits or liability on account of any negligent or intentional act or omission of Buyer or any of Buyers
officers, agents, employees or servants.
7.Litigation. In any caseof litigation between theparties concerning this Agreement and conditions of sale, including trial and appellateproceedings, venue
shall bein theStateof Washington, County of Whatcom, and thelaws of theStateof Washington will apply to any dispute. Reasonableattorneys fees
shall beawarded to theprevailing party. Theseconditions of salewill not in any way beconstrued to limit or restrict SFIs rights and remedies at law and in
equity, all of which rights and remedies SFI fully reserves, unless such limitations arespecifically stated. Any failureor forbearanceby SFI to enforceany of
theconditions of saleof this Contract or any of SFIs rights and remedies at law or in equity shall not constituteawaiver or relinquishment by SFI of any of
SFIs rights and remedies under this Contract.
8.Assignment, Amendment, Modification. Neither party shall assign its rights and duties under this Contract without theothers prior written consent.
TheseTerms and Conditions may only beamended or modified in writing signed by both parties. This PurchaseOrder and Sales Agreement and these
Terms and Conditions, including all writings attached hereto or incorporated by reference, areintended to bethefinal, completeand exclusivestatement of
theterms of theparties agreement.
Noticeis hereby given pursuant to theUniformCommercial Codeas adopted by any State, of SFIs objection to all terms and conditions in addition to
and different fromtheconditions of salecontained herein that Buyer may add to this Contract or placein any written conformation or purchaseorder that
Buyer may issue, unless theparties agreeto any added or different terms in writing.
9.Any of theconditions of saleherein that may conflict with thenormal operation of any provision of theUniformCommercial Codewill constitutea
variation by agreement and haveprecedence.
