THANK YOU! Non-perishable food may be left in the collection boxes in the west hall, the narthex and by the church office. LIFE OF CHRIST Class on the Four Gospels Starts TODAY 9:45am Bethany Room
If you are looking for a class to examine the gospels and seek information on Jesus, this is the course!
Pastor David will lead this course on Sunday mornings at 9:45am in the Bethany Room. The course is set up to use the Synopsis of the Four Gospels, a book that gives the reader a topical study of each story that is written in the gospels. For Example: if a particular story about Jesus is found in both Matthew and Luke, the synopsis presents both versions of the story, side by side, so they can be read at the same time and examined. If you would like a copy of this book, please contact the church office. The price (discounted) is now $31.50.
Pastor David also uses small group discussion and visualization of the Biblical Story in the art of the church to encourage conversations about the texts. The purpose of this course is to help Christians to know Jesus Christ more fully. To know the grace of Christ, the love of Christ, the ways of Christ for our daily lives. That is what we want for ourselves, our family, our friends, and our world around us. By carefully studying the life of Christ, it is our hope that the Spirit of Jesus Christ may come to live in us more fully.

A Blessing of Pets and Animal Companions
Saturday, October 4, 2014 11 am St Johns Lutheran Church 1300 W Benjamin Avenue Norfolk, NE
Come join us for a time of thanksgiving, blessing, and celebration for those who live with us as our trusted companions and friends- our pets! On Saturday morning, October 4 at 11 AM, we will celebrate a service of Blessing Pets and Animal Companions. St Johns has been a strong supporter of the Humane Society of NE Nebraska, sponsoring the Bark-B-Q event the first weekend of June each of the last three years. As a church we are committed to the care and support of the earth and its creatures, given to us by a gracious Creator God. We are given stewardship and responsibility for the land, as well as the flora and fauna of the earth. Our pets are precious to us, and are for many a part of the family. All creatures of our God and Lord are a part of the way we care for creation. To care for such animals is a blessed activity. Plan on being a part of this special activity of worship, blessing, and fellowship! Cats, dogs, fish, birds, gerbils, hamsters, rabbits, horses, goats, chinchillas, snakes, chickens, ducks, geese, lizards, newts: you bring it, we will bless it!
