A character that I like is Phileas Fogg. He displays great courage when he
faces challenges to complete his journey around the world in 80 days. While
travelling, he decided to rescue Aouda after learning that she is a prisoner of the
bandits. At that time he is willing to risk his life to rescue another human
than focusing on winning the race. While in America, he also rescues his butler
and the other train passangers from the outlaws. He shows that he is a brave man
who dare to face the danger.

The character that I dislike is Detective Fix. From the beginning, he shows to us
that he is not a good detective. Based on superficial evidence he has decided to
arrest Phileas as the bank robber. He makes the plots and makes the readers dislike
him. Fix keep moving behind Fogg. He makes hasty judgements about Fogg. He tries
to win over Passpartout so he can help him to trap Fogg but the butler will not
cooperate with him. So he pays someone to hit him and leave him unconcious. In
the end Passpartout hits him at the nose and even Fogg punches him.

A character whom I would like as a friend is Jean Passepartout. He is a butler for
Phileas Fogg, a wealthy man staying in London. He is trusworthy man because Fogg
asks him to look after his 20,000 pound although he only know him for less than 24
hours. He also a brave man. He is able to fight with bandits who attack the train in
America. He also crawling under the train to enter the engine section to pull the
safety chain so the train will stop and save everyone from the tragedy. He also has a
sense of humour. He does thing in a comical way that makes him an interesting
character. There are the reasons why I admire Jean Passepartout.
