3.1 Introduction
3.1.1 Objectives of the System
The Security System (SS) aims to secure e-NGAS from unauthorized access, preserve data integrity,
and pinpoint responsibility over database updates !nly the system administrators are allo"ed to
access the NGAS Security application
3.1.2 Features of the System
The SS has the follo"ing features and capabilities#
$apability to maintain user groups and grant access permissions
%acility to change pass"ords
Tool to identify the servers "here the system administrator and user databases reside
Security of server access through pass"ords and &indo"s ' S() Server authentication

3.2 Standard Operations
3.2.1 Logging On to the System
*t is important to protect the Security System (SS) from unauthorized users !nly System
Administrators can log into the Security System
A )ogin and )ogout function helps your organization control the access to the functionalities of
the Security System
+very user must log in before using the Security System &hen a user finishes a "or, session, he
should log out -roper application of the )ogin and )ogout functions "ill help prevent
unauthorized users from accessing Security System *n addition to instructions on logging in and
logging out, this section includes brief instructions on accessing, entering, and e.iting of SS
system administrators
3.2.1.1 Logging In
The )ogin function controls access to the System /efore you can begin using the Security
System, you must log in )ogging in re0uires you to enter a 1ser Name and -ass"ord in a )ogin
"indo" *t allo"s the system to hold the user accountable for every transaction or data
manipulation done during the "or, session
&hen you start the Security System, the )ogin "indo" (Figure3.1) appears at the center of the
system2s main screen

53 *f the user name and password you entered are correct, you can access the functions of
the system, depending on your user access level

but only up to a ma.imum of three attempts
3.2.1.2 Logging Out

The $dd or #e1 button enables you to add another record in the database or perform ne" data
entry This button "or,s similarly in all modules under Security System This button can be
found either at the bottom or right side of any active "indo"

Add button = Available in both Group and 1sers menu, "hich allo"s the
user to add a record
Ne" button = Available in Groups menu, "hich allo"s the user to add a
record
The steps to follo" in adding a record are as follo"s#

a screen

The 'dit button, found on the main screen, allo"s the user to change or modify the screen

Security System This button is found on the main screen

bottom of the screen, it can be used to delete a record

3.2.6 Searching a .ecord

Search button = Available in both System Setup and Transaction menu and is
found on the rightmost side of the screen, it is being used to access the
Search &indo"

The Search &indo", "hich "or,s similarly for all modules in eNGAS, facilitates the search for a
specific record to enable the searcher to perform specific functions such as the follo"ing#

&hen you clic, the drop do"n button, a monthly calendar form "ill appear The form displays
the days that correspond to the selected month and year At the bottom part of the form is the
current date

features Another "ay of indicating the desired date in the date field is by selecting the month '
day ' year and enters the month ' day ' year using the ,eyboard
