This week will continue talking about familiar Nursery Rhymes, letters & their sounds as well as numbers up to 10 and how we can make those numbers. We will also talk about Johnny Appleseed and talk about apples.
Week 4 Lets Go!
1 Welcome to Kindergarten Other Important Information: * Last week students took their beginning of the year STAR Test on the computer. Kindergarten takes this test once in the fall and once in the spring. It tests pre-reading skills and beginning math skills. Students overall did pretty well. You will get your specific childs score at conference time. * Conferences are coming up on October 13 th & 14 th . Please fill out the form that came home in your childs blue folder indicated what the best time for you would be. We can not guarantee you this time, but we try our best. * Please remember to send your childs blue folder EVERY DAY with them and empty it EVERY NIGHT. This is how I get important information home to you. Feel free to send notes with them in their blue folder if you need for me. Also, Yellow Homework Folders only need to come back to school on Fridays so I can take out completed work and send home the new homework. * District Wide Snack was approved at the District Board Meeting. They are hoping to get it started sometime in October. The fee will be $25 for a student a year or $50 for a family a year for snack. You should be getting more information from the office soon. When it does start up, you will pay for the snack in the cafeteria for the year and then the food services department will provide the snacks every day taking into account any allergy restrictions, so we will not be using our snack calendar anymore. Instead at that time I will be changing it over to a Show and Tell Calendar (date to be determined) so students still have a special way of sharing in our classroom. * Reminder: Our library day is Wednesday. Each child gets two books to take home. Please help remind students to bring their books back on Wednesday to get new books. * Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. The easiest and quickest way to contact me is via email. My email is mbergenhagen@dgf.k12.mn.us You may also call our classroom. The number is 218-477-6827. Keep in mind I try not to answer while we are learning. You may leave a message though and I return your call. You may also set up times to speak with me before or after school.
