institution, with special focus on Advancements in frontal areas of Mechanical Engineering and
to cater all required levels of technical education and to help in creating trained human
resources having world class competencies in technical professionalism, research &
development, inculcate leadership qualities with ethics in the young minds. To create nurture
educational leaders having commitment and dedication, a sense of responsibility, and
concomitant towards environmental, social and economic needs of the populace Delhi in
particular and in India at large.
OBJECTIVES
To develop analytical ability and problem solving capabilities by educating the students in
appropriate Streams of technology and computational methodologies..
To develop abilities and skills related to theoretical knowledge and application of these skills to real
life engineering problems.
To inculcate a habit and an attitude for life long learning in our students.
To develop inter-personal, technical and soft skills in the students and to train them for decision
making in real life engineering, managerial and human resource related problems.

Established by Founder Principal Prof. (Dr.) O. P. Sharma in April/May 2007 by the Department of Training and
Technical Education (DTTE) of the Government of NCT of Delhi, this institution became functional from
the academic year 2007-2008 and the classes started in right earnest from august 01,2007 itself. In
establishing this institution, the Government of Delhi took another quantum stride for fulfilling the
aspiration of young Delhiites for getting world-class technical education in their city.

This institution started with an initial take of 120 students 60 each in Mechanical and Automation
Engineering (MAE) and B-Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE). The institute has
expanded the horizon by commencing Computer Science Engineering branch in 2009. The institute in
affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and approved by the AICTE. It has been
conceived and designed to be a super- specially institute in Mechanical Engineering, with focus
on Advanced/Flexible Manufacturing Systems (AMSs/FMSs), Automation & Robotics, CAM/CIM, Nano
Technology, Mechatronics, etc., with a vision to adapt itself to the ever changing needs of the industry
and with a mission to produce world class technologists capable of providing services to the
corporate sector, the R&D organization, the Academia, other Govt. organization, PSUs, defence
services, and regional, national and international professional needs.

It is indeed giving me a great pleasure to mark the presence of
Govind Ballabh Pant Engineering College (GBPEC) in the
cyberspace. It is a matter of immense pride that GBPEC continues
to be one of the highly sought after institutions affiliated to the
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprashta University (GGSIPU) for admissions
to engineering and technology programs. We recognize that the
fast growing technological developments in all fields are
challenging and industry requires multi-skilled talent. We have

Admissions are being done on the basis of Common Entrance Tests
(CET) conducted by Guru Gobind Singh I.P. University as per Govt. rules.
Around 2 Lakh students apply for the CET and 70000 students qualify for the admissions in
GGSIPU.
Out of which, a few sharp minded students having upto 4500 approx rank in CET get a
chance for the admission in GBPEC.

compressor and various other standard refrigeration and air conditioning apparatus from KTENG,

Smoke analyzer and tester for both Petrol and diesel engines equipped with TATA Indigo Turbo DLS 4

compressors , relays, sensors, logic gates etc by SMC Pneumatics, NOIDA and softwares like PLC and
AUTOSIM.

ELECTRONICS LAB enables students to conduct experiments in realm of electronic devices and circuits,
communication systems and digital communication. Lab is equipped with ZealTech Workbench having
Multi-Output Power Supply, Function Generator, Dual Channel Oscilloscope etc.
SIGNAL PROCESSING LAB has been setup to conduct experiments in realm of advanced digital signal and
image processing. MATLAB software has been provided with various toolboxes for design activities.
VLSI DESIGN LAB .The detailed study of the Networks concept based experiments are performed. This lab has
more than 30 numbers of Pentium IV 512 MB personnel computer along with required software like
network simulator.
MICROWAVE ENGINEERING LAB is one of the best in the country used for Calibration and testing of antenna,
Far field and Near field Testing, EMI/EMC and RCS measurement and for defence and space
organizations having 2 Microwave IC trainer and E-field software for designing of physical optics and

Database Management System Lab is supporting novel, advanced applications that expand
the limits of traditional databases, especially transaction systems. Its main aim is to
enhance performance and functionality of applications such as workflow and
information retrieval, that require or can benefit from transactional support.

Microprocessor Lab is equipped to provide students with an exciting environment to
implement and experiment knowledge acquired in the classroom. It is equipped with
Digital Multimeters, PC based on Microprocessor Interfacing stations, a variety of

Chemistry department is amongst the best departments of the institution. It comprises of
highly qualified faculty members and technical staff and well equipped laboratory
having advanced instruments. The aim of the department is to impart theoretical as well
as practical knowledge in the areas of applied chemistry and environmental studies to
the students. The department also considers projects in the areas of developing green
polymers, studies related to waste water treatment and other relevant areas of
chemistry and environment management

Since fundamental principles of Physics form the very basis of Engineering and
Technology, the department, therefore, aims at providing the necessary knowledge of
Physics to the young engineers. The main activities of the Department are Under-
graduate teaching, Research and Development programme. In the 1st and 2nd
semester, the students of all B. Tech branches are given compulsory courses in Physics.
The Department offers curriculum consisting the basic principles of Physics besides
emerging areas of Technology so as to provide necessary background to future
Engineers.

BAJA SAE INDIA : Every Year, BAJA, a national level competition is
conducted by SOCIETY OF AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERS India. Over
250 Teams from engineering colleges in India compete against
one another and design and fabricate an All Terrain Vehicle
(Buggy) to have their design accepted to be manufactured by a
fictitious firm. Large number of students from GBPEC take part
annually and leave their mark.
ABU ROBOCON INDIA : The Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon)
is an Asian Oceanian College robot competition, founded in 2002
by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. In the competition robots
compete to complete a task within a set period of time. The
contest aims to create friendship among young people with similar
interests who will lead their countries in the 21st century, as well as
help advance engineering and broadcasting technologies in the
region.
RESNOVAE : The technical festival of G.B. Pant Engineering College in
association with Society of Elite Engineers Trojanz. It lasts for 4 days.
The aim of RESNOVAE is to foster a scientific temperament among
the students through different
means to cater to all kinds of talent. It ignites the spark of te
chnical competitiveness amongst students. Our vision has been to
bring science and technology to the masses
and to inspire them to achieve the unexpected
by providing them with a platform to showcase their skills.
Broadening its spectrum. Every year RESNOVAE hopes to see
active participation from students of various colleges of India.
GBPEC IEEE : The student branch of IEEE is one of the most active
student branches under the Delhi Section ,Region 10 (Asia
Pacific).Since its establishment in 2007 ,it has made its presence felt
at all the major events under IEEE :be it the national conference or
the technical fests in the leading colleges

SOCIETY OF ELITE ENGINEERS TROJANZ A non-profit nationally
registered scientific association of distinguished scholars
established in 2010 by the Students of GBPEC.The mission of
the society is to foster and conduct collaborative
interdisciplinary research in state-of-the-art methodologies
and technologies within its areas of expertise.
It organizes conferences, workshops, and provides technical
support to conferences and workshops in around 70 colleges.
AMBROSIA : The cultural festival of GBPEC. It is organized annually
in the month of November. It lasts for 2 days. Number of
events are organized like dancing, singing, mimicries, theatre
etc. Battle of Bands is the most attractive and fervor event of
the Ambrosia.
FORTIUS : The sports event organized by GBPEC. Various type of
sporting event are conducted like chess, table-tennis, carom,
cricket, badminton, basket ball etc. Even students from other
colleges participate in the event. It lasts for a week.
ANUGOONJ : The Annual Cultural Festival organized by Guru
Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
Around 120 affiliated institutes of the university participate
in the festival. This 4-day extravaganza is a perfect blend of
entertainment, creativity and talent. A plethora of events
like dancing, singing, debates, creative writing,
theatre, poetry, etc., are part of this grand festival
wherein students actively participate and
manifest their talent.
The Training & Placement Office, GBPEC facilitates the process of placement of students passing
out from the Institute besides collaborating with leading organizations and institutes in setting up
of internship and training program of students.
The office liaises with various industrial establishments, corporate houses etc which conduct
campus interviews and select graduate and post-graduate students from all disciplines. The
Training & Placement Office provides the infra-structural facilities to conduct group discussions,
tests and interviews besides catering to other logistics. The Office interacts with many industries in
the country, companies visit the campus for holding campus interviews. The industries which

The Placement Office is assisted by a committee comprising representatives of students from the
under-graduate and post-graduate engineering streams. The committee evolves a broad policy
framework every year besides a set of rules which are inviolable. Students members are closely
co-opted in implementing these policy decisions.
