Mr. Pattison:

In a recent BusinessWeek interview, Anheuser-Buschs CEO, Patrick Stokes, described the challenges
presented by the market in China as being very similar to the situation in the U.S. in the 1960s. I was struck
by both the history and competitive advantage contained in this quote. Anheuser-Busch has succeeded when
faced with similar market conditions and will be able to draw on this experience as the company expands into
the increasingly important Chinese market. I can think of few other companies in a similar position and aspire
to work for an organization with such a strong tradition of excellence. Furthermore, I bring a unique set of
experiences and skills that will allow me to make immediate and enduring contributions to the company as it
expands internationally and improves its domestic operations.

The following represent some attributes that will help me succeed in this position:

Ability to make immediate contributions I worked for two years as a consultant for Deloitte.
One attribute that helped me prosper in this position was my ability to jump into new situations,
quickly assess the problem, and make suggestions for its solution. Given Anheuser-Buschs
emphasis on immediate participation, this skill will be invaluable.
Adaptable work style My career as a consultant afforded me the opportunity to simultaneously
work on a variety of assignments, each requiring a unique combination of skills to succeed. This left
me with the ability to effectively prioritize my time and employ a variety of skills. With these wide-
ranging capabilities, I will be able to adapt to the assorted responsibilities associated with the
internship.
Teaming skills Past teammates have described me as reliable, diligent, interested in learning and
being challenged, and focused on team success. These traits will enable me to interact with a variety
of teams, regardless of the work environment or group dynamics.
Desire for continuous improvement At Deloitte, I was recognized as an e-Learning leader
for completing over 100 hours of computer-based training on my own time. My drive to learn
and improve will accelerate my on-boarding process and allow me to immediately add value.
