Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) is an oral mucosal disease in which oral epithel layer is destroyed through lamina propria. Bacterial plays role in exacerbating RAS pathogenicity by causing secondary infection which delays mouth mucosa recovery. The aim of this study is to account the INHIBITION EFFECT OF GREEN TEA LEAF extract towards RAS ulcer bacteria.

RAS occurs many times in a year and causes severe discomfort sensation: pain in eating, chewing, swallowing, and talking, it also often causes stress to the patient. Bacteria plays role in exacerbating RAS pathogenicity by causing secondary infection which delays oral mucosa recovery. Green Tea is medicinal herb that grows widespread worldwide. It has many health benefits, one of them is antimicrobial effect. Purpose. The aim of this study is to account the inhibition effect of green tea leaf extract towards RAS ulcer bacteria. Method. This research was done with the help a volunteer, man or woman, 25- 45 years of age, who has mouth ulceration which occurs often, the ulcerations size accounts 5-7 mm, and does not have systemic disease. The lesion swabbed. The swabbed material was incubated in Nutrient Agar to let the bacteria to grow. Green Tea leaf extract was diluted in different concentrations: 100%, 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 6.25%, 3.125%,1.5625 %,0.78125 %.The Polibacteria of RAS was put in the each of concentration and was incubated 48 hours in the 37C. After it, we should calculated quantity of Polibacteria RAS to know MIC and MBC from green tea leaft extract. Result : The quantity of Polibacteria RAS on the concentration 6.25% is zero, but at the concentration 3.125%, 1.5625%, and 0.78125% the mean quantity of Polibacteria RAS is :10.20, 30.00, and 90.80. Conclusion. At the 6.25% concentration, green tea leaf extract can kill any kinds of colony polybacteria RAS, but at the 3.125% concentration, green tea leaf extract can inhibit the colony of polibacteria RAS.We can find the MIC (Minimum Inhibition Concentration) at 3.125% concentration of green tea leaf extract and the MBC (Minimum Bactericidal Concentration) at 6.25% concentration of green tea leaf extract.
