Reading1: Read the following essay and choosing the best answer [10 Minutes]
E-lecture is name of the Mahidol University library service that records the teaching
from the class for students to review by using the librarys computer. E-lecture lets student
learn not only in the classroom, but also outside the classroom. Although some teachers said
that E-lecture should be banned, there are many benefits for students in using E-lecture.
Opponents of using E-lecture claim that E-lecture makes student skip class. However,
there are only some students who skip class. Moreover, E-lecture lets absent students catch
up teaching that the student missed. Therefore, they will not have to worry about missing the
class and be ready to continue learning in the next period.
Opponents of using E-lecture also maintain that E-lectures makes student not pay
attention in class. However, such an argument is completely wrong because instead of paying
less attention, students will pay much attention in class to catch up with lectures. E-lecture
helps the students review the lecture they miss.
The final argument advanced by opponents of using E-lecture is that E-lectures
makes student active only when it is close to the test day. However, not all students active
only when time comes closer to the test day, instead of that, students active all the time.
Although there are some arguments in using E-lecture, there are many benefits of it
that we should not ignore. In my view, E-lecture is the alternative learning for students that
do not like learning in big class with so many people. Moreover, E-lectures helps student be
able to revise and catch up with lecture. E-lecture lets student to be able to learn more.
Therefore, in my opinion, E-lecture should not be banned.
