A Receive Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) check is performed:

If the signal strength at registration is within +/. 4 dB range of the most recent rogue mobiles signal strength
measurement, the registration message, along with the mobiles DN, ESN, cell number, and sector number (if
directional setup, are sent to the E!" and stored in an #$" log file%
If the signal strength at registration is not within +/. 4 dB range of the most recent rogue mobiles signal strength
measurement, the registration message is treated as a regular registration& it is not sent to the #$" log file%

Average RSSI Rise Above the Noise Floor: The count provides the average Received Signal
Strength Indication (RSSI) rise above the noise floor. The RSSI rise is generated every 2 seconds. To
obtain this count in db, multiply the count by a factor of 0.0 (R!.0 and later cells)
Peak RSSI Rise Above the Noise Floor: This count provides the pea" RSSI rise above the noise
floor. This RSSI rise is generated every 2 seconds. To obtain this count in db, multiply the count by a
factor of 0.0 (R!.0 and later cells)

If the value of this parameter is #d$, it indicates a for%ard loading of #0& (or #0& capacity
utili'ation).
$eyond this, the utilisation %ill increase but at the cost of ()R or poor *uality).
This implies there are more users consuming high po%er (resulting in higher t+ po%er).
This parameter is bound to increase in busy hour (as utili'ation is ma+imum at that time).
If rise in this parameter is found in all , sectors of a site consistently over a period of time, then a
definite solution is carrier up gradation.
If found in particular sectors only, then %e can go for sector-%ise optimi'ation (orientation, tilt).
